It's a great concept. The overall presentation is well balanced. Personally, I like the concept of climbing the wall, so it would be better if there were more parts and the game could be played at a faster pace. It was fun. This is good work.
Thank you!
Pretty cool concept, would love it even more if the mechanic focuses more on the surfing aspect., being able to float in the middle kinda take me out of the pace.
This might change the genre of the game a bit but perhaps make it so that the player propels forward automatically, this will require them to time their rotation to make the jump to the next surfing platform, hitting any white platform will result in death. Players will have a choice to either focus on completing the map, get as many points as possible or both. But that's just how I feel would make the game even better.
Overall a really enjoyable game with chill retro synth music to go with! Keep up the good work!
Interesting ideas, thanks for the praise!
Interesting concept! The music and aesthetics give the game a cool personality. I liked the gameplay but I felt that the most fun parts were the ones where I surfed smoothly between the sections, so I think that if the game focused only on it, instead of having those white parts, it would be more enjoyable.
Thanks! Yeah, I'd certainly design those levels differently if we made this again
Nice concept, it felt great when i was able to blade surfe :D
nice randomly generated levels, controls feels quite slow, but nice theme, i liked a lot.
Thank you for the feedback. (Unfortunately I couldn't play your game in turn because of the lack of a windows version)
in the main page of my Game, at the coments, i leaved a comment with a download link, cause i forgot to add the .pck file in the itch.io files, there is a windows, mac and linux version ;)
Polished, chill, cyberpunk and randomly generated levels. I don't know what else I can ask from a game jam game! Awesome entry, congratulations!
PS: I'm tweeting about games I play from this jam. Here is yours: https://twitter.com/TheAntonSem/status/1430259348299726848
Thanks!
I liked the concept and the implementation, controls itself seemed somewhat fine for me at least, but the part which threw me off was how so many sections had the colour coded rails on the opposite side. The level design seemed challenging enough that if you didn't keep control you'd bump into walls regardless, so those inverted sections just made things harder. I think having them on the same side as the intended route would make for a much more cathartic experience, and it was there in one or two sections which was probably the most fun parts of the game. But maybe that's just me, other than that it was pretty fun to play!
I made each of these levels with an optimal route in mind, although it might not always be obvious, and the optimal route is sometimes just bad. That said I'm not sure what you mean by "opposite side". Could you show me with a screenshot?
That said, level design is hard :D
Essentially stuff like this
Did you try pressing the space bar? :D
holy shit I'm retarded, the game feels literally perfect now
I like the concept but I had a bit of an issue with the controls. The floaty movement can make it a bit hard to hit the pickups or readjust after making a mistake. I also ran into a few glitches. There were a few times where I tried to rotate and ended up with the colors on the same side and occasionally I would hit a wall, turn around and start surfing back the way I came. But with a bit more polish I could see this as a really fun flow state game!
Thanks for the feedback!
Well done little game. Making levels which really flow well, whether that's handcrafted or not, is a challenge anyway, for the limited time period of a game jam it's still solid. hard but solid.
Yup and thanks.
Challenging game!
I liked the gameplay concept and how it fits the level design.
I'm an awful player when it comes to precision so the game was hard for me.
Oh and I also enjoyed the sounds, especially the music.
Good job!
Thanks!
Cool game, I love the flow feeling one can get into with a nice sequence of slides. The aesthetic and music are also great. Others have already said it but a few short but (entirely) hand-crafted levels without randomization would have been nicer in my opinion, at least to showcase the game in a jam where players are not "that good at the game" yet :) I would love to see the game get expanded!
Thank you for your feedback!
Good game, very challenging
Fun little game with retro vibes. I love the sliding mechanic, it's fun. Game is a bit too challenging for me, and I wish the little white dots were easier to hit. Other than that, great game.
Agreed that handcrafted levels that you could get into a flow with would work better. But a neat take on the jam theme.
This game would work way better with hand crafted levels that way the movement would flow better from color to colour pretty fun tho
The game uses handcrafted level "blocks" that are attached in random order. Particularly the first few blocks we built were terrible and it got better as we built more, but there just wasn't a lot of time :D
The transitions remain an issue
So cool, loved the music as well. Made me want to keep playing :D
I can highly recommend White Bat Audio for music, although he focuses mostly on darksynth
Yooo this fucks! I love the vibe and the concept is really neat!
Thanks!
amazing, this entry was quite simplistic but a very unique take on the rotation theme
Pretty retro styled game. I like sliding mechanics, its pretty fresh. Controls is not much fluent as I expect. And its made in Godot!
Thanks! People seem to be divided on the controls
