Theme interpretation
A satellite in orbit is failing and losing its connection. It's your goal to retrieve what data you can before you lose the connection completely

Players Notice
The game is entirely text-based and played in a terminal

Development Software
Godot and Aseprite

Accessibility
Tried my best to make the help commands descriptive and simple enough that even someone with no experience in a terminal could operate the game

Really enjoyed this one. Doing CLI in a game is surprisingly difficult (tried to do one for ludum dare one time). So good job on implementing a rudimentary system. Many good suggestions here. In an instance where things are happening In Real Time I would just print out a help menu with each of the commands you can run instead of the typewriting effect. Maybe the "connection ..." then just output to the console. Overall good job trying this style of game. Nice job

Okay, gotta admit - kinda struggled with this one, even though I be lovin me both space and CLI.
Considering the theme, core idea is great - them space systems are supposed to be hard and complicated.
But, I didn't like the implementation:
- Feels like things happening in the background too fast, and unskiippable slow typewriter effect doe not help
- no history (been instinctively pushing "up" button to see nothing happen)

I've seen there are hints of the story in decrypted messages, so, I think, with a lil bit of sound design to support what's happening and a lil less friction that could be a cool small experience.

I love the terminal aspect & theme interpretation of connecting to a distant satellite.

It takes a few runs to get all the controls are running the help pages will just straightaway make the ship burn up.

To really make the terminal vibe grow you could have made it possible to use up arrow to get command history, maybe a | grep feature to prevent a lot of terminal output too.

In the current state it all boils down to use "status, heater & align" , using stuff like the helps & checkdownload just wastes precious time.

I do however see this turn into a bigger "NASA satelite commander" game where you start with a small satellite like this one and build up to bigger & bigger satellites with more to take into account.

I also recorded all of my gameplay, feel free to reach out on Discord if you want to see it; I also do think align command has a bug, when going into the positives you always have a "worse connection" even if your error shows up as 0° or 0.1°, got me confused for a while until I actually started reading the numbers and running some tests.

Still, as a longtime Linux user, doing a lot of cli & ssh based stuff this game was a fun entry to see! :D

99% Signal integrity ftw :P

I really like the style of the terminal! The typing is satisfying too along with the sound effects. I think more quality of life would benefit the game a lot. It takes a really long time for all the text to finish typing, and while stuff is typing out, you are unable to scroll. This really hurts the pacing of the game in my opinion, as it slows you down. It would also be nice to be able to scroll with your mouse cursor, rather than only being able to scroll one line at a time using the arrow keys. Other than that, it was a fun and unique game! Well done with the entry!

Cool style and sounds! I like the retro style and feel of the game. I won't delve into the gameplay itself because I lack the skill to not lose in a blink of an eye.

cool interface, a bit hard to understand for me but I like the style and how the sound feels like an old machine

Very interesting, it's the first time I try a terminal management game. I did not manage to retrieve the data, it was too hard for me ^^'

edit : I managed to get to 93 percent after multiples tries, I'm wondering if checking status too often is not drying off the battery ?

cool interface XD

I like the typing and text shown sound

the objective is clear and fun to try around to manage the system XD

Wow this is hard. Finally got a successful run after a few tries. I am normally not too into text-based games, but I enjoy this quite a lot! I like that tense nature of the game with real-time "gameplay" going in the background, which I think is quite unique for text-based games. My winning round left me with around 3% battery left with dangerously high temperature, it's a super close call, but I guess this is where the enjoyment came from. The ending message is cryptic, but it brings a nice tone to the game, so I am not complaining. The game doesn't tell you too much about the inner workings and does require a bit of guesswork, which may be a hit or miss, depending on the person you ask, but it landed well with me. Well done!

For some criticism, I'd say there are way too many texts waiting to be typed, and it gets a bit anxious at times. Especially the help menu, where I don't think you could ever win a round with that open once. I ended up memorising the whole instruction set in order to just get a chance at winning, which I don't know if it's a good thing or not. Maybe a post-it note somewhere on screen or something? I would also guess the message after you called "align" instruction is incorrect, where every time I see "signal improved", the signal is actually worsened. This took me a few tries to realise, and it felt a bit unfair if it's intended.

Anyway, in general, this is a nice and innovative entry, and I like it very much! Well done!

A simple terminal simulation text based game, it's an interesting entry.

Visuals:

Obviously the game is text-based so there isn't much going on, but despite that the game feels good to look at and the UI is nicely made.

Audio:

The clicking sounds satisfying, but i wish there was more going on audio-wise.

Gameplay:

The game is pretty difficult to graps, it would help to be able to use the help command before starting because i just found myself restarting over and over trying to read the help instructions. I ended up unsure of what i was supposed to do with the ALIGN command.

Overall:

Pretty interesting and well executed entry. Wish i could turn down game volume down in game. Overall a pretty solid entry. Good job!
