I wasn't the only one who made a twin stick shooter, interesting. This one has actual upgrades though which I had no time for... I like the environmental "traps" you can active.

Music is a banger. Art is great. Enemies and exploding them is neat. The twin stick shooter aspect feels pretty simple. The economy of the game feels pretty rough. Had a hard time getting enough coins the first few times the upgrades popped up. But that's a balance thing. Jam stuff. etc. I was having a hard time being able to get away from enemies as they got more crowded on the screen. Maybe a dash with a CD on it to get away.

Good job team!

Really love the gameplay and art! However, the connection with the theme is quite poor. The main things I think would benefit the game would be to have the enemies look more unique compared to each other. I feel like it was easy to forget which enemy was which, and not know how much health they would have. I also think having a hit animation along with invincibility frames is needed to make this a better experience.

I'm not big on the menu music, but the in game music is really awesome! The sound effects feel really good as well. The main things I would like to see would be to have some enemies drop more gold, or lowered costs of earlier upgrades, in order to have the game start off in a more enjoyable pace. Currently, the first few times you are able to upgrade, you don't have enough gold for any of the upgrades. I would also like if the mouse cursor was hidden while playing, so I only see the game cursor. Overall, this was an amazing game and I would love to see more getting added to it!

The art and audio are solid, good visuals, music and sound effects. The animation could use some work, particularly Elisa’s gun, which clips through her arm when facing to the bottom left.

There is a noticeable lack of visual feedback when you damage an enemy, as well as when the player takes damage. Additionally, the player has no sort of i-frame when taking damage, resulting in multiple slimes close to instantly killing the player if you run into them. I also noticed there are instances where slimes can spawn directly on top of you at certain locations, which get more and more common past Wave 80. Not sure if it is intended, but slimes can spawn outside the map, so if you kill them, coins and hearts “float” off the map so you can never collect them.

Gameplay balance is where the experience struggles the most. The game feels too easy overall, the tanky slimes add some variety, but move so slowly that they don’t pose a threat. Normal slimes have very little health and are easy to wipe out. The tile mechanic (which seems to be the theme interpretation from the submission page) feels underutilized, most enemies are easily defeated before there is any reason to use the tile explosions. In fact, trying to activate the tiles can sometimes feel more risky than rewarding as you are potentially running into slimes to do so.

The upgrade system also feels a little off. The upgrade menu appears every 5 waves regardless of whether the player can afford anything, often forcing a skip in the early waves. There’s no way lock or freeze upgrades, and by the time you accumulate enough money, the upgrades feel too slow to get (since they are tied to the wave count). It feels you’re teasing me with the upgrades as early rounds I can’t even afford anything. Some upgrades, like the drone would benefit from better targeting, like focusing on the nearest enemy rather than firing seemingly at random. Upgrade costs also remain the same, even when stacking the same upgrade which can make the player extremely strong.

As for the theme, it doesn’t seem deeply integrated into the core gameplay. While the tiles might have been intended to represent “connection”, it seems almost entirely optional and easy to ignore. The bullet heaven mechanics alone are enough to carry the player through the game without ever interacting with the tiles. The “Ping” upgrade seems to be a poke at the theme, but it becomes a filler option that takes up a slot after seeing what it does for the first time.

There also doesn’t seem to be an ending, so it seems your choice after a while is to die, or lag out the game until it crashes.

Nevertheless, the game is a fun little minigame that you could spend a short amount of time in. Thank you for sharing the game!

I don't see any connections to the theme. I'd call that a poor connection 😎

Definitely can't call this "controller support" when the menus are not navigatable with it. Though it's so disadvantageous that using it is just a bad idea anyway (there's a reason why survivor-likes have auto aiming).

I really don't like how fast slimes can just straight up kill the player with no counterplay if they go on top of the player. I'd add some sort of knockback, or let the player shoot them to make this less unfair.

UI, art and their animations are cool and the sound design is spot on. I didn't really end up playing the game for long because I generally dislike survivor-likes, but I'm sure others have given more insight on the gameplay.

Really had fun playing this game! Art is really nice and closing the tiles around a million enemies feels so good. Loved the music and just the general vibe the game had.

My only critique would be the spawning of the enemies. They only ever spawned on one side of the map so camping in one spot felt like the easy and strong strategy.

Very addicting, very fun!

Artwork is beautiful! Cute MC always makes me happy, and the slimes are also way too cute. It's a shame you'll need to commit slimiscide, but otherwise nice little game! The controls are great, pacing is also quite nice, though it gets much easier midway through. The upgrade system is quite nice with a ping option, which is really funny. I also like the "Trap" very much as it adds a bit of depth to otherwise brainless endless twin shooters. I end up using that quite a lot and had a lot of fun doing so. The effect also looks great!

For some criticism, I'd say the game is still a bit on the easy side once you pass around 50 waves, and the upgrades are way too cheap later on as such I've just got too much to spend. The game would also benefit from a few more enemy types. Adding some variety would make the game stand out more. Ah, the game also lags after a while (130 wave +) but I guess that's just a stretch as that point.

Anyway, love your game. Would really like to see more about the MC in the future! Great work!

Loved the art (Yutami slays) and the music, but the gameplay feels a bit weird. I got to wave 3 without seeing a single enemy! This results in getting to the shop with too few coins to spare.

Also it would be great to have some visual feedback for hits. I died more than once without even noticing I was hurt, and I even thought the tougher enemies weren't being hit.

I'm not in the jam so I don't know how much time you guys put into this, but good job anyway. It has a lot of potential to be very addicting lol.

The blob's walking animation looks super nice! I'm a bit confused by the updrade system, I've been presented with 3 options multiple times but never have enough money to buy anything ^^' Thanks for holding the jam!

Nice game with good visuals and sounds. I'd love to have some visual feedback for each hit on the slimes and the player.

nice game XD

I love the ping feature, it's so random XD

getting upgrade options without enough money to buy it is though :"D

and it's getting harder to keep up with difficulty because of that

Okay the games is great, and this time TECHNICALLY you did not go engineless so i'll be more cruel muhahaha.

Visuals:

Amazing art as always, the game looks great, i feel like the menu font is a bit tough to read for me? might just be me. But...    I feel like the game was missing some juice, i know it's html and all but i really feel like if the game's actions were more responsive it would've been hell of a lot more fun, little screenshake there, little knockback here.. ect.

(oh also some sprites seemed to have a weird line appear and disappear on them)

Audio:

Music is amazing, the sounds effects fit well with the game, no issues here!

Gameplay:

Now the game is addicting, as is every Survivor game but i feel like it ramps up kinda slowly? Also could use with a bit more upgrade types. Also the frames seemed to drop at some point by a slightly noticable margin but it wasn't bothering in any significant way.

Overall:

Great entry! I feel like the theme is a bit loose, and could do with a bit of balancing but overall really fun game! Great Job!
