Loved the style and the thought behind the game. But like others have said there's some balance issues and bugs in it. Like accidently softlocking myself at the beginning because I used all my ore on towers to find the first access point. not a huge deal, probably would either allow towers to be adjacent to the access point or something. Overall loved it, and fit the jam theme very well!

Good job!

Really good style and interesting gameplay. The game is solid but needs to be rebalanced a bit. The early game is really slow because you need a ton of extenders but only have a few ores to use, I had to wait plenty of times fo resources to actually do something.  The radar also needs a bit of extra changes because I had to place 5+ towers on a single location hoping to get the right spot.

i think it's nice, but i have a few critiques:

1. at the start, it 's way too slow, mining ores takes too long

2. the player's move speed is annoyingly slow, going anywhere feels like a crawl especially in a game where you need to move so much to find the connection points

3. the extender's range is too small, it's annoying having to chain them so much

4. not being able to actually see the connection range is annoying

5. night time doesn't feel like too much of a threat, the enemies are too weak and there are too few of them and the turrets are too strong

6. scanning mode doesn't really have any downsides, making it so there's no reason to not have it constantly enabled and scanning

7. when you have a lot of towers placed, it really starts to lag, i assume it's because you're checking for connections every frame (?)

8. (small one) the time left when you're outside of signal range has way too many decimals, 2 or 3 are enough (just doing time_left = snappedf(time_left, 0.01) is enough)

but overall, i still like it! it's a nice game

Finally got around to play it to completion. Loved that blockbench models and overall vibe! Day/night cycle was surprising.

Though, my problem with the game is that, possibly, extedener's range is too small/you can't recycle buildings, so the map fills up real quick => game starts lagging a bit.

Really loved playing this game!
Had quite some fun just building a bunch of mini bases around the map and farming resources as well as putting a million extenders around my resource miner to see how fast I can make the drill spin :D. The 3D modeling was really nice and fit the ambience well, and I also really enjoyed the night music.

I think my main critic would actually be filtering out drill noises when too far away from them or play a small filtered version of the drill in the other ear, had a small headache when I wasn't moving around.

Really loved this game. Had so much fun!

finally completed the game after tirelessly searching for the last signal XD

sometimes I feel it's too hard to know the correct position of the center signal area. Even though you reach the place that are very noisy, you can't pinpoint the exact center location. Especially in the beginning where you have limited resource.

Maybe a visual cue would be helpful

This is a nice little base sim/tower defence. Building towers (mostly extenders) all over Mars' surface is surprisingly enjoyable, and it will definitely turn into a metropolis in no time. Urbanisation of Mars eh? It reminds me of Creeper World for some reason, which is a very nice game I recommend trying. The blocky art style is very nice, with that metallic and industrial grey + blue glow for the player elements standing out against that orange Mars sand. It looks quite nice. The gameplay loop is simple to understand, and it makes sense within the game and with the theme. Nicely done!

For some criticism, I'd say the main issue is that it lags quite a bit. I tried to play the downloaded version as well, and it still lags after I place quite a few towers. This hurts playability quite a lot on an otherwise enjoyable game. The map is also huge and makes finding the spots for the antennas a bit hard, and it doesn't help with the fact that there are no landmarks after leaving spawn. For some UXs I would really like to see some controls hint on screen at all times, given that I press the incorrect number for the 100th time by now. There are other minor issues, such as a very slow early game, the possibility of a softlock, no ability to remove buildings, need to guess where the exact position is even with the highest ping, enemies at night being a bit weak etc.

But anyway, I think this is quite a nice game. Good job!

I love the graphics and music! I think the main thing that could be improved is making the UI cleaner. For example, on the control change menu, instead of showing "move_left", you could remove the underscore, or just make the text say "left". Also, if the options menu is open and you press options again, it opens up another instance of it, and this can stack up. I also agree with what shpil said about the number sticking to 2 decimal points when leaving the signal radius. I think it would also be good to note that when starting the game, if you spend your resources poorly (not using all your resources on the drills), the game starts off extremely slow and can take a while to reach a pace where you can start collecting resources and build buildings with ease. Also, this might just be a me issue, but I think the range where you could place the first antenna could be bigger. When I first played, I couldn't get the introduction to go past where it tells you to place the antenna, because I couldn't pinpoint the exact location of where to place it. I did play without a headset, so maybe that made it a bit worse for me. Overall, I think this was a good game! It fits the theme well, and it's really nice to look at. Audio and SFX also fit really well. Great job!

I really enjoyed the game it was very simple the music was  great, the visuals were amazing

my only complain is that...

The timer when you get far from the signals and having a really *poor connection*,  is really hard to read

because there are so many numbers, i think it would be nicer if it was only 3 - 2 numbers after the zero

overall really enjoyed it :)

I love the ambience & music/sfx in the game.

It also fits the jam theme well!

The night felt a bit underwhelming gameplay wise, no real threat by the monsters,

The 3D modeling looks great too!

Also hunting down the last access point was quite difficult xd
