As a fan of puzzlers, This game really wrinkled my brain :) It was really fun learning the mechanics and had such a rush of joy after finally winning!
Glad you like it! Thanks for playing :)
Really cool and fun game, I really like the artstyle and the sound design, but why is the name German? Either way it was really cool to play, nice one!
Haha two of the team member had lived in Viena for a while (we are based in Madrid currently) and we though of wordplay between the german article "die" and the singular of dice "die". Then we saw the game was kind of taking references from Potion Craft, so calling it the "the pharmacy" using that wordplay seemed like a good idea! The other german word was just kind of fun to use, so there it is.
Glad you liked it! =D
Oh I didn't even think of that wordplay lol, good one!
To be honest, the German name just sounded cool in our heads hahahahaha. Thank you for playing!
Really really good game, I opened it up and got immediately overwhelmed, but the tutorial explained everything nicely. the art is absolutely gorgeous and the music calming and fitting. great job!
=D
We are glad the tutorial fitted you. We are aware it is a bit too much to process at first.
Thanks for playing!
Oh! We're glad that the tutorial was helpful, we were a little bit worried in that regard :_)
Great visuals and an interesting premise. A cute combination of Potion Craft and Roll. The tutorial was good at explaining such a daunting screen at first glance. Awesome job!
Potion Craft was our exact reference when thinking about the game, yes.
Thanks for the kind words =D
Glad you saw the Potion Craft inspiration hehe. It was high in our inspiration-list
This is a very adorable, fantastic, puzzle game.
I did get frustrated by the lack of clarity of some of the mechanics. I was never sure exactly what a given spot was going to do and how it was going to affect the controls. (I used the ability that let me re-use a recipe... and I wasn't sure why everything was highlighted in red... and then I clicked on something and I lost the round)
Overall, though, the music sound and art come together to make for a very calming experience. Incredibly well done, fantastic puzzle :)
Had to come back to this after re-reading my review. This game is excellent and top-notch. Its so good that I got frustrated by a minor lack of polish detail.
Really, sincerely, well done.
Thanks a lot!
We are aware the game lacks clarity in general, we have tried giving some hints and guidelines in the description, but I just think there is too much to process and it need a super tight UI design.
Very glad you like it, thanks for playing =D
Thanks for the elaborate feedback! We're glad that these polish tasks we couldn't get our hands on didn't ruin your experience in the end. Thank you for playing :)
Felt really clever when I finally won over the cauldron!
Congratulations on your great game =)
Thanks for playing!
Nice! I'm one of the programmers and I'm still struggling to win once :_)
Very cool!
One of the best games played in this game jam
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
=D
Glad you like it :)
At first I was kind of struggling to find out how everything works, but it was worth it. It's quite satisfying, it has got a nice design and it's not easy to succesfully finish it.
I hope you stayed long enough to work it out and beat the cauldron =D
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for playing :)
This is an amazing game and a fantastic submission for the Jam! Once I figured out the mechanic where the right column was reusable I was able to find a strategy to get the +3 dice and +1 turn. Two small glitches: There's a +2 where it only gives +1 (not a big deal) and the dice covers the cauldron (and the score). Super tight game!!
Yes, the dice covering the cauldron is a bit annoying.
Actually you can right click the dice and it goes directly into the cauldron (avoiding so the bug).
Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you for the feedback! That's a nice strategy you have right there, glad you enjoyed it :)
Very good. It seems incredibly daunting at first, but it's fun to puzzle out the solution with the mechanics. I haven't "beat" it yet but I'm going to keep trying!
=D
Let us know if you manage to beat it!
We hope you figure it out hehe. Thanks for playing!
Best game of the jam for me so far. I really liked this. its a very tough and interesting puzzle. There is a bug where dice get stuff on the cauldron.
We discovered the bug after the submission :(
Thanks for your kind workds and your feedback!
Glad you like it :). And thanks for the feedback!
This game is intense and beautiful and relaxing all wrapped into one. Well done!
It took a minute to figure out how things worked, but once I had that it was so enjoyable to realize the depth of options open to the player.
That being said I couldn't win, no matter how I tried. I still had fun though! Thank you so much for the absolutely amazing game.
Edit: after reading some of the comments I realized a mechanic I had no idea existed and I went back and won. Felt sooooo good. =)
So glad you gave it another try and won =D
Thanks for your kind words!
Niiiice. Personally, I'm finding it pretty hard to win, maybe I should also check some more strategies in the comments hahahaha
The concept of the game was interesting and the art design amazing but I couldn't drag my dice to nothing, only in the calderon.
Hello, thanks for playing!
That can be because of a very common confusion. The recipes in general are locked at the beginning, you must use the top gaps (<=3, >=4, odd, even) to unlock them in order and then you will be able to use them.
Oh, sorry to hear that... Did you make sure that your skills were unlocked? Could you drag your dice into the top gaps?
It's really beautiful to look at and a creative game concept that seems very fun when you start to understand more. I love the word play in the title too. Giving you top ratings on creativity and presentation for sure!
I only wish that you didn't have the hard day limitation. As a regular player, there's just a small chance to have any experience of success.
If you had just dropped the day limit and instead made it more like a highscore game where your needed days are your high score, everybody could have played through and experienced the full game. At the same time, those who would want to go for optimizing it more, could still do so.
Thanks for playing and the good rating :)
We are aware of the difficulty of beating the score with that 6 turns limitation. Although we feel like dropping the turnlimit would not force the player to think of the better strategy to beat it, we do agree a highscore system might be better for the game. We thought about making some ranking based on the score the player gets, something like giving 1, 2 or 3 stars based on how much you can get on six turns.
Still, thanks for the feedback! We might update the game to a post jam version, so it is well appreciated :)
That's an interesting idea yeah, thanks for the feedback :)
Great art work - really atmospheric. I struggled at first to figure out the gameplay - but once I had the hang of it - I found there was alot of depth to this game.
Thanks! Glad to hear you stayed long enough to appreciate it :D
Cool! Thanks for playing :)
A bit hard in the beginning but really satisfactory once you beat it. Great art, great idea, great work!
Thanks for the kind work! Glad you like it :)
It felt a bit like the two rightmost research trees were a bit of a trap, as only the two on the left helped with completing the game. Maybe I missed something though. Very cool concept.
All columns are useful for different strategies, but it must be figured out ;)
Thanks for playing!
Is it possible to win without using the center-left one?
I won once using the multiplier to unlock new dice + extre turn. Then in the last turn with a fare amount of dice I duplicated twice my dice pool and played with reroll all and +2 all to win
We had a long discussion over how to balance the research trees yeah, we wanted a multiple-solution game. Glad you liked the concept :)
on the one hand, it was frustrating having such a small number of turns to work with, but then that also made it easy to restart and try again.
That's something the design team had in mind, we ended up going for replayability instead of increasing the number of turns
Incredibly fun! Took a while to puzzle out, but once I realized you could stack the multipliers from the second column on the same value, the game seemed much more possible.
Hehe you discovered one of the winner strategies.
Glad you found it fun :)
Yeah right? As one of the programmers (and being super bad at strategy games myself) it also took me a while to figure out the best strategy to beat the game. It was funny seeing the designers get 200+ points when I couldn't even reach 80 xD
I think there may also be a bug on the multipliers: the ones that say they only work for small numbers nonetheless seem to work on anything.
Managed to win without taking advantage of that, but still.
Oh! It may be the case yeah, thanks for the feedback
fantastic presentation and take on the breif! Your team should be super proud!
Thank you for playing!
Thanks!
Love the art.
Thanks for playing!
