Love the chill vibes! Adding randomness to the match-3 puzzler makes things a lot more interesting, actually. Or at least, it takes some of the pressure off of being able to anticipate exactly what will happen when you make a move. My only suggestion would be a little bit of escalating tension to bring the game to a natural conclusion... maybe as your score increases, it takes more and more effort to regain a shield.
Congrats on your chill little puzzle game.
The concept of your game took me a bit to catch on. The randomizing based on adjacent dice didn't quite make sense until I played with it a bit and figured it out. It's a cool little idea though. Nicely done.
I think this game direly needs more saturated colors though. The dice just looked like a wall of pips that all sort of blended together. It was a bit of a struggle to try to figure out what a "good" move was. But even then, the shield system replenishing when you make a match is so forgiving, there wasn't much reason to not just click randomly. And that's where the game kind of broke down for me. It was just a bit too tedious to find rewarding moves. For me, it might just be the color issue. Maybe others were fine, but more contrast between the different dice faces would have helped me a lot.
Well done on submitting your game in 48 hours. I hope you keep making games!
Very clever and well done. The presentation was really good. I liked the simple but effective twist on a classic game. Seriously nice work!
Great presentation, I love the take on a casual match 3. Showing all the probabilities on the side was great, and having them determined by their neighbours was a neat idea. A simple mechanic that was executed brilliantly, well done!
Fantastic. Very clever usage of randomization with control, could play this puzzle game a long time and not get bored. Well done. Certainly there's ways to expand on the core mechanic. Awesome work :D
You have the same problem I have, which is no in game tutorial. The rules on the game's page were clear enough though, it didn't take me long to get it. Your games feels more like a relaxing toy, and it is perfectly fine. It's nice to have a more laid back experience after all those games.
It was definitely relaxing tho it felt a bit too easy. It would be cool if it scaled in difficulty over time. Good Job!
Really relaxing game, satisfying animations too.
Music fits the game perfectly.
There's some strategy in where you want to flip a dice, but there's still some randomness, so you have to find a place where you want to flip a die in a way that maximizes your probability of rolling a die side that connects with others. Interesting mechanic.
I enjoyed it but it doesn't hold my attention for very long.
Oh, if you can, export it to Linux : )
The sounds were really satisfying! This was a really good way to make the RNG feel "fair" in a game that could be very frustrating if it was only up to the rolls! A great way to pass the time.
Really nice and relaxing! I really enjoyed the pastel color palette and how simple it is to play
So clever!
I really liked this mechanic- simple but fun; and the presentation makes it all the better :)
I was, however, either really good at it, or super lucky; because I was never in much danger of actually losing the game. Maybe a bit more balance on the lives? But, not failing all the time is also fun so :P
The game is more on the easy side, yes.
There is a hard mode if you press [3] on the title screen. But as you said, it's also fun to play without too much risks. It still tickle the brain to find the safest option :)
Thank for playing!
Oops- totally missed that option!
Nice artstyle and music. Those create a comfy atmosphere here.
Dice palette also reminded me PS One game "Devil Dice". You bring me my childhood memories back :D
I showed your game to my friend, we played it for a really long time. Awesome!
Thanks.
At first the dice were all white and it was a nightmare to find matches, so I added the colours.
After picking the pastel colours, I thought it looked vaguely familiar to show dice like that, but I couldn't say from where. So thank you for pointing that out because the colours totally reminds me of Devil Dice. :)
Really good game with a nice artstyle !
