An enjoyable short game. I feel like it would work really well for 2 local players (didn't have a local player next to me). For improvements, there are some display bugs (red zone covers attack zones). It would also be nice to have a button to skip the rest of the move if you don't have any sensible moves left.
Thank you for playing & for the feedbacks :)
Really cool concept and well executed!
I only wish unit info was more clear rather than looking at a picture in the description.
Great job on your game!
Thanks ! :)
Yeah, I ran out of time to add the visual aids in the game.
Thanks for the feedback :)
This game is GREAT I was 100% engaged the entire time and played until I beat it. It definitely hooked me and I would definitely play more levels. It reminded me of like a classic chess meets Fire Emblem and it works so well. Great job!
Thanks you ! glad you liked it :)
I liked the idea a lot! It took me a while to figure out the way the game works, but that's all good. Would have been better if there are more units at the start of the battle (for the AI as well, AI felt too weak). Overall, pretty cool game!
P/S: I couldn't give live commentary due to not being able to stream, sorry
Thank you for the feedbacks ! glad you liked it :)
Amazing game!
I really liked this. It's such a simple litle battle, but it's really engaging. The different units feel like they each have a different purpose and the combat is easy to understand. I especially like how you included friendly fire! It's also pretty amazing that you managed to get a decent Computer player working in the time we had. I have played a lot of games with AI opponents, but half the time they seem like they only play perfectly or only play randomly. Your computer seems pretty intelligent and it feels great to play against.
Overall this gem is one of my favourites. Great work!
Thank you very much ! :)
In all honesty the computer is still pretty basic and could be improved a lot. but I'm glad It is good enough for most people to have fun playing against it :)
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you liked it :)
It's crazy how complex this game can be with the few elements it has, I loved it! It reminds me of the strategy games I played as a kid in browser. The visual finish is perfect for what the game proposes and the artificial intelligence of the enemies works perfectly! Also, the addition of being able to play two people is GREAT, I can't wait to try it with someone. One of my favorite submissions of the jam <3
Thanks !
Glad you liked it :)
This game is so good! I love this type of 1v1 games with very simple design and a lot of options for conterplay and strategy. Simple pixelart you've created fits perfectly and music fits as well.
One thing I don't understand is what is the downside of using spearman over swordsman, it seems like every move he has is better, while they have the same cost.
Overall - cool little game with a lot of room for extra content if you ever decide to continue working on it (like unit types that attack with low values and move with high ones, so you can choose to build a more balanced team and so on).
Thank you very much :)
Indeed, you're right there's no reason to pick a swordman over a spearman. I actually changed its attacks near the end of the jam & didn't realize my mistake until after the deadline. ^^
Thanks for the feedbacks. Will definetly continue working on it after the jam. :)
I like the game and it has a great presentation. I just wish the move key was in the game for easier refence. Great work!
Thanks for playing ! :)
The game looks really cool and plays really well.
I like watching the computer play. I'm not really sure if it's doing the right moves xD but I'm also not sure if I'm doing the right moves. My only problem is that I don't know why the dice sometimes attacks and sometimes moves. I didn't really care to know. I enjoyed the game either way. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback :)
There's a visual help bellow the game to explain how each dice work with each fighter. Unfortunatly I didn't have time to properly put that in the game.
I liked the idea and the chess feel to it! I agree with some of the comments that the controls need a bit of work, but otherwise, it was pretty nice! Also super cute art!
Thank you :)
I like the idea but the controls were pretty hard to figure out, a tutorial would help. It seems like it would be a lot of fun two player but for single player the enemy AI is pretty easy to defeat.
Thanks for feedbacks !
I agree, the controls needs to be made more clear and yes a tutorial would really help with that.
As for th AI, it was added in the last few hours so it's pretty basic (not to say dumb XD) and need some rework.
Thank you for playing :)
i like the idea of action by dice value.
the controls it litle bit complicat, but when i understand the game become fun.
Thanks :)
This is a great game. I feel it has a great balance of randomization to make things interesting without making things feel out of control.
Thank you very much ! :)
I liked the idea of a tactics game with random actions, it makes you improvise with what you have in your turn, but not too random because you always know what can be your options each turn. The art is very good too.
Thanks ! Glad you liked it :)
I liked the game overall, the art is pleasing and the Idea is pretty good, one thing I didn't like was after choosing the dice having to choose one of the player and see their moves, maybe the dice could be changed by alphanumeric keys, All in all it's really good👍🏿
Edit - I meant player not enemy my bad sorry!
Hey ! Thanks for playing :)
Not sure I understood what you mean by : having to choose ennemies (if you mean you have to play as player 2, maybe you clicked on "2 players" at the start. to play agains AI, click "1 player")
Sorry I wrote in the itch.io page instead of here.
I loved the game but the controls are a bit complicated and more shrink and grow effects would make everything more satisfying and feel better. Great Game!
It's ok ^^
Thanks for playing :)
Cool Game, I never play DnD before but I'm kinda feeling the vibe while playing this. It's like combining an RPG and Chess at the same time. Good Job
Thanks ! Glad you liked it :)
Really enjoyed the game, played a few rounds and will definitely play it again tomorrow!
Thanks ! Glad you liked it :)
Somehow i broke the game and i couldn't use any dice, not sure what happened there.
You put a lot of effort into fleshing out moves for each unit type, although it's very unintuitive to the point where you just click on the die hoping it will do what you want.
The art looks nice, everything fits together nicely.
You even animated enemy turns, nice.
Oh dang... Have'nt encountered this one...
I agree the whole set of movements is a lot to take in for a jam game. I put an helping visual bellow the game, though it would be 100% better if displayed as a heads up in the game itself.
Thanks for the feedbacks ! really appreciate it :)
I Really likes the look and feel of this game! the overall idea is great as well, if there is one thing I would like to see improvements on its the ai, as is right now the game is too easy one player, but fun to play with someone else.
Thank you very much :)
yeah, the Ai is as dumb as a bag of rocks ^^... I kinda throw it together last minute.
Will definetly rework it after the jam :)
