I quite enjoyed this.  I really like how much about risk management the whole game is based around; it's very simple on the surface, but it's fun to try and figure out the optimal way to do things.  Buying movement dice didn't seem worth it since that way you fight fewer things and get less money overall.  This is a rock-solid core and could be its own game with a few more added layers of complexity and some more animations and juice.  Great stuff.

Developer

Thank you and yeah I do plan on updating the Thank you so much and I do plan on adding more complexity and animation. I also plan on reworking how movement dice work so that it could be more balanced. Thank you so much for the kind words and for the feedback.

This game is straight fire! I love the mix between a board game and an RPG! Could definitely see a version of this with wildly different boards for different areas/levels! Love it!! :)

I think the issue with this game is that it kind of just feels like playing a board game by yourself. Which, I guess you are. It seems well enough made, but fighting enemies feels kinda like nothing when all you can do is press 1 of 2 buttons and the outcome is random anyway.
Stuff like this i've seen on so many of these jam games though, I think this prompt was fairly difficult as it's not easy to make random dice actually engaging. Like all the good games I've played the dice barely matter. Good attempt and thanks for making it though.

Yeah I wanted to make the game multiplayer at first but was worried on how I could make that work. As for combat I did originally have a different idea where you can get new abilities and attacks as you progress through the game but I ended up with a very large scope and had to scale it down to just 2 abilities. I do really appreciate the feedback though and will try to add some sort of multiplayer and try to make the combat feel more strategic in a later version.

Very glad you enjoyed the game and I greatly appreciate the detailed feedback.

It was okay! Needs some juice here and here.  And you need to balance healing somehow. But I really liked  the monopoly style gameplay. I think it could make for an interesting endless roguelike.

Developer

Glad you were able to catch the Monopoly inspiration. I plan on adding more animation and better sound effects in a future update so as to add better juice . Healing I recognize is pretty broken and my last few hours was spent trying to balance it out. If you have any ideas on how I could balance it I would be happy to hear it. I personally have been thinking of having how many times it could be used in a battle decreased or to just make the skill harder to upgrade.

Glad you enjoyed the game and I greatly appreciate the feedback.

Solid idea and gameplay, nice graphics!

Simple graphic but good design! I would just add settings for music.

Developer

Yeah the audio was very much the last thing I thought about when making the game. Definitely adding an audio slider so that it isn't as loud next time.

Love the aesthetic and charm! I love the dice upgrade idea, but the movement suffers from the same frustrating thing that Monopoly has where you have no choice. I got like 7 fights in a row which gives you no chance to recover for example. Maybe roll 2 dice and choose one?

I like the multiple dice idea I was going to add a system where you can buy different dice from the shop to make the outcome less random as you progress through the game. But didn't have the time. Very glad you enjoy the game and I greatly appreciate the feedback.

Nice take on this weird Monopoly style RPG! I played it for two loops and I guess it's just naturally addictive.

A nice, little game! It was quite intuitive and accessible, and I enjoyed its aesthetic a lot!

I like the retro art style and the simple to understand gameplay. Good job with SFX and also balancing the game as the player progresses. Nice one!

The game looks very nice and the gameplay is fun.

A fun and simple game. The visual is fantastic and clean and I like the sounds <3

Fun game, feels a bit like monopoly! Appreciate the graphics and sounds!

Developer

Monopoly was actually my main inspiration for the board layout and how the chance tiles are set up.

That was a fun one. Once you understand how the game works is very simple to find a strategy to make you invincible. I don't know why you would ever bother putting money into more board movement though.

Simple and fun game, the sound is (for me) way too loud, a volume slider wouldnt hurt lol :)

Would be awesome if you could check out our game aswell!

Developer

Yeah the audio was the very last thing I added in so not much consideration was put into it one of the first things I am adding after the game jam is an audio slider. Checked out your game and it was really good too.

Really simple yet enjoyable! :D

Incredibly simple and incredibly fun! Well done!

Interesting game, I liked the simplicity and the mechanics. I'd only say that looping the board 6 times is probably a little much, and for the numbers over 6 it would've been nice if you could've made their own symbols too (at least up to 9). But overal I liked it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you and yeah I was going to add extra symbols for the higher numbers but I guess I just forgot to lol. Really glad you enjoyed the game though it means a lot.
