NO KRAKEN WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE? T_T
Good job buddy.
Interesting concept! Very fun and addicting! There were some bugs that was encountered later on but it was still fun.
what bugs did you encounter?
My bad, might not be bug, just performance issues. It got tad bit laggy but could be on me for having shitty pc. I'm not good with dev stuff so I'm not sure if there's anything you can help and code to solve such issues.
ah, for sure. plenty of others have reported performance issues that need addressing.
The gameplay was quite fun, I'm glad the enemy projectiles weren't too fast! That being said, at around year 8 I started having performance problems, though I'm not really sure why. There were tons of ships, but I think it might be because one of the moving objects that spawns maybe never despawns? I don't know though. Its an otherwise very enjoyable entry. I like that it turns into a bullet heaven after enough years.
Release the Kraken!! :D
I like cheerful graphics, and music! Gameplay was fun too! Good job! :D
P/S: Shout out to a fellow Godot-er! :D
Fun game! I'm always excited to see a kraken!
Fun game! I'm always excited to see a kraken!
Nice music here! And the risk-reward system of getting up close for a melee attack works well. I found the scrolling texture for the ocean a bit of an eyestrain, though, I'm afraid...
My favorite name for a game this jam. Also the only game with a dedicated "Smack" button. I like the idea of debuffing for every level. Never thought that finding trash in the ocean would be a difficulty. Nice game!
It was really fun to throw trash at the enemies and I liked how instead of the enemies getting stronger you could choose to get weaker yourself. It really made me feel like soon to be extinct kraken :D
I survived for 8 years! Good work, though I never did find much use for the attack, I just threw trash the whole time. I like how not only are we playing as the villain, but you also have to choose debuffs instead of buffs.
Throwing trash feels great the attack not so much - it feels sluggish.
Anyway nice take on the theme!
lots of fun, super easy to understand and play.
Cool game. I had my fun sinking those annoying ships. :D First I thought I select buffs until I released these are debuffs :D
I hate arcade games that just relies to spam the exact same obstacle 999 times. Plus the debuff is pretty common in arcade games.
Love the debuff idea and I enjoyed throwing trash, great job!
Enganging concept for a gameplay loop, the resource management for projectiles & the risk of close combat. Nice balance to an increasingly difficutly gameplayloop.
Good job!
I lived 7 years and killed 100 enemies. I find the concept fun for one or a few attempts and I really like the music. The minuses I see are the saturated, confusing background and the stuttery-feeling jump when the current changes its direction.
I lived 6 beautiful kraken years in the great pacific garbage patch. I agree with the other comments, with how fast everything moves it'd be nice if there was color differentiation or something between the trash, boats, and bullets. That was fun, glad I played :)
While playing I wasn't quite sure how the theme was implemented until I read your comment. Now I have to say that reversing conventional game mechanics is a very interesting way to implement the theme. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult time distinguishing the background from the important game elements. Nevertheless, I think the game is good. Well done.
The choice of how you want it to get harder is interesting. Good job for the jam!
