Pretty good concept, thoroughly enjoyed it aside from the bugs! Would definitely like to see this with some fixes post-jam!

Wow, this is a lot of fun. Great job with the level generation and the different kinds of blocks.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Original idea! Nice art and sound, good job :)

A very simple concept which I think was quite well executed, but it just might not be my cup of tea.

But first, the good things:

Actually great art and music. The game is just generally well put together and therefore your game deserves great presentation. Good job!

There is polish and fixes that help with making sure controlling the boxes and joining the boxes together is as easy as possible.

Some caveats:

I think there should be a way for BOB to regain speed after losing speed after using the floating platforms. Maybe around every 500m or some fixed distance, to reward player for balancing their usage of floating platforms.

Its actually quite a good game regardless. Kudos!

Thank you for your kind words and suggestion. We are aware of the pacing issue and will address this once the GMTK GameJam 2021 ends!

An interesting concept for sure. However, it seems like in some runs, there weren't enough blocks and the player character moved a bit too slowly, so the camera slowly overtook him until he fell offscreen. :/ Overall, a unique idea and great presentation. Good job!

Thank you for your feedback! The only way we could imagine this happened was if there was too much TNT and all the materials got destroyed. It is possible to use the same blocks and place them back and forth to progress when materials are sparse.

We are also currently discussing on how to best optimize the pacing issue with BOB as in a normal case BOB will move as fast as the camera does but can generally be stopped by other materials to fall behind. You then can use materials directly placed behind and in front of him to give BOB a little push!

Nice job!

As others have mentioned, the visual polish is quite good. I liked that I was able to recover some distance by placing blocks on top of myself, it added a little bit of mastery to an otherwise simple mechanic.

I think it could add a lot to this game if bob sped up over time, very gradually. Not to impossible speeds, but to difficult speeds.

Simple and fun game!  I can see how this could be pretty addicting.

The aesthetic of the game is on-point, and I appreciated having a variety of blocks to work with.

My one critique is that whenever the character starts falling behind, it felt like there was no real way (at least from my playthroughs) to catch back up.  It would be nice to have a way to recover from mistakes.

Overall, I enjoyed playing, nice work!

Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback! We are aware of that issue and are currently discussing wether we should let BOB catch up when he is behind and slow down when he is ahead or not.

Originally it was planned (and it is still possible) to push bob by placing blocks directly behind or in front of him.

Polish is great, and the concept is cool.

Awesome polish in this time! Great concept!

Really cool, reminds me of some early facebook games i used to play a long time ago lol. While the mechanic can be a bit repetitive,  your implementation keeps the player engaged and doing the same thing over and over again doesn't feel boring at all. There's a nice variety of blocks and it's easy to learn their behaviours. nice experience :)

I really like the visuals of the game. The concept is simple but I think it has a lot of potential. I think it could be improved by teaching the player what certain blocks did. When I hit the plunger for the first time and immediately died, it wasn't a great feeling. Still, on my subsequent playthroughs I got further and had a good time. Nice job!

Pretty simple game. I liked the visuals a lot, but had some issues with dragging things to the right place as quickly as I wanted/needed, but variations in player skill is hard to balance for, a bit more grace period on disconnected blocks and such might help with that.

Overall pretty enjoyable.

The art style is lovely. The gameplay mechanics were okay but the block generation felt too random. I mean sometimes I was overwhelmed by blocks and I had to put them behind Bob but sometimes there were so few, I couldn’t do anything to keep Bob up.

Fun and simple, though gameplay and music can get repetitive. A "climbing" sort of axis shift may be interesting for example. Good submission

fun idea, though it does start to get a little repetative, maybe the ability to increase bobs speed would help, or jump pads or other stuff like that could maybe spice up game play a little. audio mixing was great! one the very few games I've played that didn't blast my eardrums at full volume, and even if it did, you had mute buttons so points for that. overall a nice idea and good execution, Good Job!

Awesome game! Very impressive for a first game jam submission! The art was great, the game was challenging enough to keep me intrigued but not too challenging to drive me away, great work!

Really fun puzzle game! deceptively simple at first, but the interactions with the different block types, and learning that I could re-use blocks I had passed over really broadened the gameplay options. High Score of 14793! :D I did find the music loop repetitive after a while, but otherwise very nice game!

Really cool game! Great job finishing your first game jam as a team, I love the art and mechanics! The game is a bit hard, but other than that this game is really awesome!

Fun little game. It was a little bit hard to understand the mechanics in the beginning, but one you figure out how the gameplay works it was pretty fun. The untold strategies of placing a block on the player to move them one block upwards was a neat discovery.

One suggestion though, if you use blocks to push the player forwards enough so you go beyond the screen’s right side the game ends. In my opinion it should not end there.

Cute game overall!

Thank you very much for your kind words! We will consider your feedback and may think of a possible way to prevent the player from falling out of the very right edge instead of ending the game!

Loved this game thought it as a good challenge to master the speed of the guy to how fast you have to deal with all the connected pieces coming in and going out if there isn't anything in front, awesome game and really impressive for 48 hours!
