Amazing puzzle game! Clean graphics, nice sound effects and also good puzzle design.

I loved it! the presentation was so clean. I love the way that you tutorialize the mechanics as they get added. Great job!

Nice little puzzle game, with great puzzle design. What seems trivial at first reveals itself to be more than it first appears. Didn't anticipate not being able to cross the lines at all, but was pleased. Adds a unique constraint to the puzzles.

Simple art style works well here (Shapes plugin, I presume?). Pentagons are pretty hard to tell apart from hexagons at a glance, and while I have good colour perception, there's a lot of gamers who are colour blind. You could have had a few more dimensions to match with for those players. Eg, crosses instead of pentagons, patterns of fills as well as colours etc.

I also like the decision to put all the shapes on a defined grid. No confusion about where you can and can't put lines, what shapes block lines and so on.

Would I be right in saying some of the puzzles (perhaps all) have multiple solutions?

Is this the end of the game? It looks like I've got the solution, but the shapes haven't started dancing...

Minor flaws aside, for a 48 hour game, it's pretty incredible!

Thanks! I did use the Shape plugin. Agreed, that pentagons and hexagons could be hard to tell. For colorblindness, I did use a color-blind friendly color palette: (the Okabe-Ito palette: https://thenode.biologists.com/data-visualization-with-flying-colors/research/). However, I do agree that color alone is not good enough of as a sole indicator for gameplay purposes. What would be better is if each color had its own unique subtle texture like this (from Geri Coady's Color Accessibility Workflows).

You are correct that the puzzles have multiple solutions. I do think with more constraints, the solutions could be more unique.

And the constraint with numbers in it means that that shape can only have that many neighbors (so because the two green shapes have two neighbors each (when they require one), the solution is incorrect). There's definitely more visual feedback I could give to convey this mechanic.

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

Ah, I thought the numbers were just another dimension you could match with, like colours or shapes. Have you played Hexceed? You could reduce the number as you increase the connections like the reveal hex counts down as you correctly mark off bombs.

Developer(+1)

That's a fair assumption (About the numbers as another dimension)

Haven't played Hexceed, but it reminds me of Hexcells! and yeah, I think the countdown method makes sense. I'll need to try that postjam

I wasn't aware of Hexcells, but it looks a lot like Hexceed (which I was utterly consumed with until I finished all the levels and all the DLC). If you like Hexcells, you'll probably like Hexceed too. It also free and has hundreds of levels. You only pay for the DLC, all of which is very reasonably priced.

Disclaimer, I'm just a fan! Not connected with Hexceed in any other way.

Edit: Just went back and completed your game. Perfect difficulty level! Shame it doesn't save your progress though. Still, one of the best games I've seen in the jam so far.

Simple and nice polished. I just figured out that only the same shape or color can be connected. It made me cheerful!

fun! the little animations and sounds are very nice. I would have personally liked the puzzles to be a bit more focused / challenging, but I also did enjoy them for what they were. I liked the number mechanic. nicely done!

Wow nice job here! This is super polished and I really enjoyed playing it! I love these kinds of simple puzzle games. And you had way more levels than I was anticipating for 48 hours, even upping it with the number mechanic. Great job!

Very well executed. I love the minimalist design. It is displayed so simply, and is very fun to play.

Very very good! Such a simple yet effective idea. And quite a lot of interesting levels. I suppose it would be neater if they had unique solutions, but it's hard to make sure of that in the scope of a short jam like this. And I like that it would work equally well as a paper puzzle (if you had a ruler, I guess). Also very nice and juicy presentation.

This is a fun game that looks like you spent hours on!! the only reason that I'm not rating it full stars is because I happen to think that if you play it for just a few mins you start to get just tinsy bit bored. But over all, fun game, and really good (espesially for doing it in 48 hours!)!! (Also that's juts my opinion but and I know that some people could play it for hours) I also loved how it was so smooth when you connect the shapes! And I definitely agree with  might.panders that you should add more levels and keep working on it! (I know I said that I might get a tinsy bit bored after a little bit but, at least for me, being a tinsy bit bored is far off from full on bored and to get there I would have to play for quite a while)

I could not get enough of those sounds! In combination with the great visual feedback this felt very ‘juicy’ even though Puzzle games don’t usually do. I would love to see more levels! I would suggest giving more feedback on the numbered blocks if the incorrect amount of connections are made. Maybe make them wiggle?

Developer

Thanks! I agree that the numbered shapes need more feedback as well

I could play this for hours. The sounds are great, the animations on the shapes and lines are on point. Great stuff going on here!

great game! I like sound effects.

I think this would be a very nice ACM ICPC/ codeforces / google codejam-style problem

I really like the overall presentation and the brain teasers here.

It feels like a complete game, which is not something I can say of most jam entries. I would realistically play this in my phone in its current state.

The game feels great, feedback with animations and sounds is on point. Just interacting is rewarding. The puzzles are very interesting, and the art style is very nice. As some mentioned, I can see this being a really enjoyable mobile game :) Great work!

Pretty simple concept for the theme, but the execution is done really well on the small details, like the sfx and the little shakes the other shapes does to indicate that the current shape you are dragging can be matched to them. Could probably be better if there were some piano music or something. For the number part, I suggest having an alternate counter that is shown in smaller text or on hover that show either how many paths is connected to this vertex or how many paths left are there left to connect. Well done.

Fantastic little game! Could see this being a great mobile game in the future ^^

Masterfully done! You have taken a simple idea and made it into a fantastic little game. This is how a game jam is done.

Super fun and simple, lots of great audio/visual feedback. Very enjoyable to play around with until you find a solution. Nice work!

Submitted(+1)

I like the sound effects. And the concept is simple but effective. Fits with the theme aswell imo.

at first, I thought "this kinda feels like a mobile game" the more I played the more addicted I got to it! I was super surprised at how difficult some levels are. very fun!
