How does your game fit the theme?
In Vogue you need to join other dancers in order to complete the level. However, when you are together, they take over for some beats, resulting in interesting gameplay where you need to quickly adapt! Dancing together is more fun, specially when you mix your dance moves with the others.

This is lots of fun. at first glace I thought it was just "collect these but movement is difficult" but it turns out that you can choose how the dancers will influence your movement, then the game becomes a sort of exercise in programing your own automata to complete the level with as little influence as possible.

Developer

Hi, thank you so much for your comment. I hadn't thought of it as a celular automata but it could be!! So glad you liked it :D

Extremely fun game, gets really confusing with all the different directions but that's where it shines! Nice cute art with all the dancers. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it c:

This game was fun! Really difficult to plan ahead and make sure you can pick everyone up and make it to the end! I had egg on my face a few times by picking up two people with up directions and then not being able to move down the stage :D Really cool, love the mechanics!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! That happened to me sometimes too ahaha, so so glad you enjoyed it :D

This was fun! I'm kinda bad at rhythm games (because I have no rhythm haha)  But I was able to do this one :D

Developer

I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you so much for playing

Developer(+1)

Aii moitísimas grazas! Alégrome moito de que che gustara :D

Controlling the characters is a bit dificult and i didnt quite understand  how would move the others dancers. Despite that the graphics are very nice and the main idea is interesting!

Developer

Hi, thank you so much for playing the game! The character moves to the beat of the music in the direction you last pressed, and once you join another dancer, their last move will be added to your queue, so every 4 beats you will move in that direction, as indicated in the 4 small marks below. That way, if you collect more and more dancers, it gets harder to move and you need to plan ahead. However, I agree with you and I already received more feedback on how the difficulty is a bit higher than I wanted, so after the jam I'll work on making it more accesible and easy to control. If you'd like to try again, you can slow down the tempo to half the speed in the settings by pressing [esc] + [left arrow]. Still, thank you again for playing and your feedback, hope you have a great day!

I saw that you made accesibility option and that's very impressive for a 48 hours game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I tried my best, it was my first jam too so I'm still learning to balance everything.

The game is great, with good design and presentation! One feedback that came to my mind is to keep consistent the dancer movement when the level reset. It is a bit hard to re-learn the rhythm each time but it is a great experience nonetheless :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! I agree, I tried to make the song timer as precise as I could but there were some floating point precision issues. I would really like to dive into procedural music, which I think would suit this much better, so maybe after the jam. Glad you enjoyed it!! :D

You can read how the palette shader and high contrast options were made here https://itch.io/t/1465967/how-to-make-retro-aesthetic-colorblind-friendly! I tried to explain it as easily as I could, hope you enjoy it ✨

Amazing visuals and sound. The concept is super interesting too, I did get stuck in a few levels, but that's when the game made sense to me, it's kinda like a puzzle game that takes a bit to unveil itself. Amazing idea, congratulations!

Developer

I really appreciate your comment! The difficulty is a recurrent feedback and it needs a bit of toning down, but so glad you had fun still, thank you so much!!! c:

I suck at rhythm games but this was still fun! I like the minimal art style.

Oh wow, fantastic original concept stylishly presented :D

I did find the difficulty brutal though, so I was especially thankful for the ability to slow the game down :D

Developer

Thank you so much! And yes, I realized the difficulty may be a bit over the top, I'll have to tone it down a bit after the jam. So happy you liked it though!! :D

Obviously my rythmic feeling is reaaaally bad, but i LOVE this game! Very unique concept!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! My rythmic feeling is awful too ahaha, I have to thank my best friend for making the music, because without them I wouldn't be able to put two notes together. Still, I'm so happy you liked it! Thanksss!!!

I really like this game! Some of the puzzles are real stumpers and the music is supper jazzy! Great work overall!

Developer

Hey, thank you so much! So glad you liked it  :D

This concept is realllyyyy unique and proves to be a difficult challenge. The first levels may be a bit too hard, but I might just be bad at the game. Awesome job

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you like it, and I agree with you, with more time to test I could have better fine tuned the difficulty. Thank you again!
