I like the overall idea, and the design is good!
This would be even better with sound effects!
Nice Job!
I love the idea of this! It took a second to see the difference in some of the bushes and rocks though, which led to me being a tad confused for a second there. xD I would make the color value's difference a little more dramatic on those. Other then that is was a really fun little puzzle!
That's true, some visual clarity in terms of colours should be changed in the game. We also thought about applying it to the bigger and smaller fire, so they wouldn't look samey, so definitely something to consider and it is nice to hear that other people think the same :d Thank you very much for the feedback!
The presentation is nice, though having some sort of grid either superimposed over the ground or as an actual part of the visuals would help a lot in knowing where you can actually move to. Otherwise it's a pretty fun and relaxed game, feels a bit odd to say that when you play as a flame setting fire to everything, but, you managed it haha! A pretty solid entry, nice work!
There definitely is some sort of conflict between it being relaxing and focusing on burning everything, that's for sure :d However, we are really glad you enjoyed it! The grid will definitely be taken into consideration while we are designing the solution for the issue with space perception. Thank you very much for your comment!
Excellent idea. Expertly polished as well.
I loved the art style and how you can pass the levels in a couple of different ways.
Maybe one small suggestion: I think the game might benefit if you drew tiles across the level. Without them it's a bit hard to measure how many moves I need to make to my destination. I might count 3 steps, but it would actually take 4 because of a larger collision box on a small rock.
Thank you for the kind words! :D And the grid idea is really interesting, I think it could disrupt the pretty visuals of the game a bit, but it is definitely something to consider. As of now we mostly thought that issue could be resolved with some camera improvements, but maybe we could do both. Thanks again!
The games has a lovely calm atmosphere along with a cool mechanic that led to some pretty clever and difficult puzzles! Great work! :D
This was really pretty, with good execution of the idea. Different elements giving you more flame and the water were good. I think the fit to the theme is a bit loose, you are only joining a goal.
Thank you for the positive feedback! We were also really worried about connection to the theme, originally we wanted to join together wind and fire, where you would influence the flames with some gusts, but we rightfully thought that it may prove to be too difficult to make fun during 48h, so we went with what we have now instead. Once again, thanks for the feedback! :d
I liked the burning effect et the pitch of the game. First I was afraid to cross the water, I think I understand the hint message like "don't go there" :D But you've got many mechanics to play with to create nice environment with specificities. You could have fire fighters trying to counter you somehow.
Well and maybe the view can be a bit disturbing because when you see your flame being far away, you cannot tell easily if your next move will get you to the big fire.
it was a really good experience actually. I love the mechanic and visuals generally. Great job!!
This is pretty and original. And also, pretty original!
I think there needs to be another element or constraint mixed in here to bring it to the next level. Maybe some water that you also control also needs to get to its destination, but the fire and water can't cross trails? I'm not sure.
But yeah this was all in all a very pleasant experience. Good job!
Great Visuals. Gameplay wise the puzzles were very easy but the mechanics are solid enough to be worth expanding for a full game.
The game looks beautiful; the shaders, the fire, it's all gorgeous and the UI is nice and smooth. The concept is nice and makes sense, it also makes a lot of sense that houses fire you up much more, great! However; it feels odd that cacti do not fire you up, maybe I just don't know that actual cacti do not burn up but I feel that's a harder connection to make coming from the fact that they are plants. I also gotta say that a bit more of a twist would've been nice since the base concept began to get old at some point, but since the game is not too long anyway it's not something that might've made it feel boring by the end. It also has a quite relaxing feeling. Very nice!
The art style is lovely and loved to see the smokes of the destruction I caused after beating the level. Really satisfying. Gameplay was quite simple but it was fine and sometimes challenging. Although since the thermometer UI was continous, it was harder to learn how much health does each plant give you so sometimes it felt more like trial-and-error rather than clever routing. Overall I liked it, nice work!
I love the idea as a fellow Pyro. It is a bit hard to see when you get farther back in a level (like in Level 3) since your camera is stagnate. Having the ability to move the camera around the map would help a lot with that. Great work!
Nice game. I really really love the graphics. It's nice to see some good looking non pixel game in game jam.
This game looks and sounds very cute... for a game where you burn down forests and houses, damn! Join your friends I mean
Great work on puzzles as well! I'd love to see the moral side of the game explored, haha
