Well done! I enjoyed the interesting gameplay and how chaotic it was towards the end. The graphics were good and it felt satisfying to destroy enemies. Overall this was a great jam game and I had fun playing it! :)
intresting idea, maybe a bit of polish would be good but its a great game overall
@CozyCarrotCake I think its a great, I think needs a bit of a polish on the art side, also if camera could be a little zoomed out it would have been great, good work by the way :D
I really like the general concept, but I can see this could use some gameplay polish. You get too quickly swarmed by the enemies, and also I feel that shooting an enemy 3 times back and forth in the dimensions is probably a little too much.
Overall great job, also the art is essential but very nice.
Cool original concept, I can see it implemented to other game genres too.
Like people have said - the camera shake was rough. Should be an easy fix tho.
Also, my first time playing it I had no idea what to do until I stopped to read the instructions.
An image tutorial would be sufficient to understand the mechanics.
Other than than, I had fun! Well done!~
nice art and particles, but camera shake is too much :) nice submission.
An interesting mechanic thaqt quickly gets chaotic. You might have gone a tad overboard on the screenshake.
Really cool game. A cool take on the theme. After a while it does get quite hard. The sound is also good. Great game!
I didn't quite understand how to use the connector bullets and it does get a bit too difficult after a while but the idea of switching back and forth between screens to perform different attacks is really cool!
I really like the bodies of your fallen foes being used as walls. If you continue to work on the game, maybe having different enemy remains yielding different effects. Good work though!
The screen was moving so much I literally didn't know what was happening xd
That was really tightly polished and juicy! Nicely done! I would suggest perhaps there should be a momentary invulnerability when switching back and forth so you have a split second to move away from any overlapping obstacles, and also limit how often or for how long you can toggle. Otherwise great work!
Is there an end to the level or is it just an endless wave?
Just an endless wave, although I'm thinking about changing that for the future!
awesome, i survived for a while, at some point it felt like it was never gunna end and i was just curious if it actually did, then i die.
Fun arcady shooting game! Easy to pick up and play! The screen shake was a bit too intense, but overall good job!
Fun game, get's really chaotic towards the end.
Funny and great looking game with graphics and changing music fitting the theme. After understanding game logic, I had great time playing. If you like to improve something, maybe less camera shake and slower start to teach player.
Interesting game but it's a bit annoying to have to go to the ghost dimension to mark the ghost, then come back to mark the body. Makes so that when you are killing ghosts you are going back and forth between dimensions doing what I felt like was little progress. Cool game though!
This game is really neat, I like the glowing colors, and I appreciate that there is a health system. One tip that might help make a small improvement is: when an enemy is shot, you can pause for an instant on the single frame. GMTK often mentions that technique in his videos -- it really lets the play know they scored a hit, and it lets you reduce the screen shake a little bit too.
Anyway, this is still a cool game. You seem like you know how to develop and execute on an idea so I hope you consider my feedback!
Wasn't gonna reply to any comments but I really just wanna say that I definitely will add that (and that I'm quite upset I totally forgot about it hehe). Thanks a lot for your response!
Great idea! Like the best games do, this game made me develop a strategy: shoot the enemies as far away from me as possible so their bodies dont get stuck in the middle where I need to move.
The art was also fantastic, haven't seen any game in this style yet.
Although the music is great one thing you should work on is the sound fx. The sound effect that plays when killing an enemy is a bit too loud.
Other than that, good job man!
Shooting feels great! Learning how to switch between the two worlds felt nice in the beginning too. I wanted to be able to keep the spirit world clean by fighting enemies one at a time, but they came too quickly for me to get rid of given the long process. One cool move I was able to do was to fire a blue and then a purple bullet at a far away enemy, then switch into the spirit world when the blue hit them, purple shoot them in the spirit world, then switch back to let the first purple bullet finish them off. With a bit of balance this could be awesome!
