That was really really good.

You came up with an innovative mechanic and tied it all up into a cohesive experience (pun intended). I'm actually surprised how much game you got out of the thieves working together.

The art-style, music and voice over is amazing.

Congrats on making such an awesome innovative game!

Thank you so so much for the kind words!

Interesting game. Really challenging at times. Im not going to lie, I had the Mission Impossible soundtrack on in my head. :). Keep up the great work.

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting! Yep, Mission Impossible is the origin of this trope. ;)

I think this is one of the most in-theme games of the jame. Everything is interconnected pretty much, and it's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Congrats !

Developer

Wow thank you so much! I'm so glad you appreciate my interpretation of the theme.

Fresh idea and funny design and presentation yet a bit confusing at first and needs a bit more explaining and a bit more polish in the layout design.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I completely agree with your feedback. I appreciate it!

Ayy solid game! At first I was really confused on how a and d worked but as soon as I realised that they controlled the guys up top it became really fun. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! In hindsight I bet if the first level was a tutorial where you start at the bottom, it would be much easier for people to intuit the controls. Thanks for the feedback!

Great game! The picking up process was difficult but overall really fun game! The postprocessing effects were pretty cool for those alarm lights

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the effects!

This is great!! xD I especially love your take on the theme, very unique!

I'm glad you appreciate it! Thanks!

What a cool game vibe! The voice acting really added to it XD I liked the way the camera split with the camera movement, and overall it was a very unique and fun experience!

Developer

Thank you! You're the first person to specifically mention the camera split. I was pretty proud of that, so thanks for appreciating it!

The presentation is great, from graphics to the truly incredible voice acting XD, the gameplay is super simple but works quite well, it's intuitive enough I think, yea not too much to say the game just oozes character and is pretty hilarious. Great work!

Developer

That makes me really happy to hear someone describe it as, "oozes character!" Thanks so much!

I liked the game! Really cool take on the theme and really cool vibe! I was confused at first at who I was controlling or what A/D were for, but after a couple seconds, I figured it out! Finding out the reverse of the controls was also a tad confusing, but an interesting take on it! I like it! There probably could have been a better explanation for how the controls work, though. Maybe a training level where the trio are at a practice area preparing for the heists, and they work through the mechanics to prepare for the big heist night? You could even implement a story into this game if you wanted! Cool idea! It is interesting how you control the two characters at the top and not the main guy. Figuring out the strat to the game was pretty easy, but I actually failed a few levels 1-2 times lol. The voice acting is kind of funny lol "I'll give 'em the ole razzle dazzle." XD The voice acting got a bit repetitive by around level 7, but still funny! The gameplay also started to feel repetitive by then, so if you were to continue working on this game, I would suggest either changing things up and have the hacker guy be the one you have to control more, or you have to alternate between the 2 a lot, or get the timing just right. It would be cool to either have to time a lot of the lasers just right to get through, but if you get going at the exact right time, you don't have to stop your character at all. I also think that pausing after a while should lower the alert level down, at least a tad. Being at the diamond seems to be the only spot that you can lower your alert level, which can make losing in the second half of the level kind of frustrating. Still, overall a good game! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! I'm glad you appreciated it, and I agree with your suggestions! To clarify, you actually CAN lower the alert level when stopping... as long as the Hacker is at his laptop, which means the Cleaner is the one holding the rope from moving. The idea is that you need both of them to move the Thief up, and only one of them to stop him, otherwise he just falls. A training level would be great! Thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

OOO I had no idea lol. I just had the Hacker at the rope the whole time and let the Cleaner do all the dirty work lol. I see that now. On the way down, I don't recall him doing that, but I could have just missed it, because I kept the Hacker at the rope most of the time lol.

Cool and fun idea, and well implemented. Congrats!

Thanks!

It took a little bit to get the hang of the controls and overall gameplay loop, but once I did it turned out to quite a fun game. Good job!

Developer

I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for playing!

As others have said it took a little while to figure out what everything did but ones you got the hang of it it was great! Loved how you had to manage so many things with only two buttons, made it feel like the gameplay had so much depth!

And I mean with voice acting like this how can you not call it a masterpiece! Great work :D

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you figured it out despite the lack of clear explanation of what's going on. I love that you appreciated the depth of the 2 button mechanic.

Thanks so much!

Submitted(+1)

It took a bit to figure out what was going on but after that it was really fun!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad to hear you had fun! Thanks for the feedback!

It took me a bit to get used to the controls, I think if there was a little progress indication on the hacking of the camera it would make the game easier to read.

I like the art style and really liked the voicing that I was not expecting in a game jam, also the mechanic is very nice once you get used to it! Well done.

Developer

I totally agree about the camera hacking feedback.

I'm glad you appreciated the voice acting and the primary mechanic!

Thanks for playing!

Cool game with some great art! Reminded me a bit of the scene in Mission Impossible, haha, great job for making this in 48 hours!

Developer

Thanks! That's definitely where this trope comes from! :)

Submitted(+1)

Really sweet concept. I love heists and this had just the right frantic feel. If you had time to add a swinging component, that might add some interesting downwell vibes here. Great job!!

Developer

Thanks so much! I like the idea of a horizontal component such as swinging! Thanks for the feedback!

Cool game, but please add web version at future!

Developer

Thanks! Itch doesn't support the features used in my game, so I DID make a web version hosted on GitHub, but I was told to take it down as it is against the rules to link to a game build. :(

Hi BlackOpsBen!

What an excellent and original little arcade game! I love the stylistic choice of bro culture. Reminds me of those bro memes you see floating around occasionally.

It is a nit-picking comment (because this game was so well done) but I didn't find it incredibly obvious when the alert level kicked up. It's great that the bar is red, but a more obvious indicator (perhaps a screen shake) would totally help me realize I screwed up!

Overall excellent execution and good luck in the rest of the jam!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Developer

Thanks so much!

Yes, I agree. I did some post-jam updates (not published on the page) including much better feedback of that, including camera shake and sounds.

Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing!

Surprisingly challenging, a very good idea, and looks really good, especially for a jam game!

SO glad you appreciated it! Thanks for playing!
