Stunning graphics, concept already seen but well implemented, I wish it was playable in the browser or at least in the itch.io app!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment, we should've tried that yeah :( After the Jam is over we can try to upload a webgl build! :)

This was shockingly well made for only 48 hours. It's probably my favourite game so far. I do agree that it can be hard to see past the blocks though.

Developer

Thanks a lot! :D Lemme give me a check on your game! ^^

cute game, really polished! i had lots of fun with this one. full marks for everything.

Developer

Thanks a lot!! ^^ Happy you enjoyed it! :) Gonna give yours a go! :) Will leave a comment and a rating too! ^^

Big shoutout to the whole team behind this. This is crazy well polished and has some amazing quality of life additions. The chittering of blocks when they are going to get hit, the position snapping, the placement of cubes under them to help line up properly, etc.

All around really solid! The only thing was that sometimes I had trouble seeing past the blocks to make sure I saw the upcoming shape correctly, this meant moving my buddies into dangers way in order to make sure they are safe. Perhaps making them jelly-like would go a far way.

Great job though!

Developer

Oh thanks for you kind words! We might have to look in that yeah! :) Gonna check out and rate your game as well! :)

best polished game ever .

Developer

Awww thank you! :D

Soooooooo cute!

Developer

Thank you!! ^^ I'm gonna check your game too! :D

Great game! All fits together just fine! The gameplay and presentation are great. If it had controller support it could be a great game for my 5-year-old daughter.

Developer

That's not a bad plan! We have to figure out a way to select the blocks though! :D I'm going to think about it for a bit! :) I'm going to rate and play your game too! :)

Submitted(+2)

I would use A,B,X,Y and set blocks colours to the colours of those buttons. Unselect could be right bumper and jump could be done with triggers. The left bumper could be used for speeding up the barrier.

Submitted(+1)

One more suggestion from my wife. Sometimes blocks are covering up the view of a wall. They could be a little bit transparent, o there could be some image of a barrier in the corner.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Will tell this to my team :D

I liked the facial expressions of the blocks, especially when they were in danger of being hit and became scared :)

I didn’t fully understand why blocks would sometimes stick together and sometimes not, and I also found the game less fun once any blocks were lost – playing with 3 blocks where you can’t get half the coins is a lot less fun.

Developer(+1)

If you jump with a block on another one and release it, it will stick to the block below. Then you can move the bottom block together with the top block. If you jump and for example on the right is a block, if you then release it will stick to that one. That way you can make different connections and constructions! :)

We where debating on ending the game when you lost a block or ending the game when only 1/2 blocks remain. We decided to let it continue since you still could catch atleast one coin most of the time!:) It's true that it's less challenging though! :) We might rework the system in the future where you can get blocks back after a certain amount of coins have been collected.

Really fun and cute! Great concept and well executed. One thing that would make it more fun in the future might be having the ability to put the oncoming barrier in fast forward mode to speed it up once you have your formation set so you are not sitting there waiting for so long. Obviously not important for the game jam version though. Great job, and I hope you keep going with this game!!

Submitted(+1)

Holy smokes I played it again and found that you already had it in there on RMB haha! So I was wrong. It cannot be improved. It is the perfect game

Developer

Oh thanks for the kind words! :D Your colleague also commented, gonna play the game you guys made soon. Will leave a comment and a rating! ^^

Submitted(+1)

Really pretty and nicely polished. However I did find it kind of hard to tell which state the boxes were in at a glance

Developer

The selected cube has a orange color that is different from the base cubes, but maybe we can make it even more distinctive! :D I'm going to play and rate your game as well! :)

Submitted(+1)

Yeah it's very much a nitpick lol, (and I was playing it pretty sleep deprived so that could have been a factor). My girlfriend also played it and had no issues at all, in fact she made fun of me for how much trouble I was having haha. Also thanks for checking mine out, I really appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

Great and cute game! Simple enough for a fun to play puzzle game.

Developer

Thank you! ^^ Gonna rate your game soon! :)

Amazing polish on this game! The way the cubes react to eachother and being in trouble is amazing! :D

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you :D Expressions was a must for the game! Gonna try your game as well! :)

Make me remember those weird Japanese gameshow with those walls haha.

Anyway, the pace of the wall is pretty enough, controls are straightforward. I wouldn't mind if you change the normal/speeding up wall toggle to speedup with level wall - that will be more challenging :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah that was our inspiration for the game :D Also you can speed up the wall with RMB and the overall speed over the wall increases a bit every formation :D So if you're in for a challenge try to survive as long as possible, you'll notice the speed up eventually :)

Developer

Also gonna play and rate your game in a bit! :)

Finally found this game! Seen some gifs in Discord.

We also went over this concept but decided not to do formations, so I'm very happy someone else did it. It's very fun and the UX is very well-made: like making gates faster, the blocks fearing for their dear life when standing in the wrong place and a nice tutorial.

The only downside is sometimes the cubes get stuck in each other sides and sticky mechanic is a little bit finicky (especially during jumps). But a very enjoyable & cute game nonetheless. Take my rays of love.

Developer

Thanks for these amazing words :D Nice that other people had the same idea! I'm going to test your game right away! :D

Absolutely beautiful!  I like the "join together" take on a familiar concept.

Developer

Thanks a lot ^^ I saw your game at the stream of Simpathey! Oh boy how amazing work did you guys do absolutely insane!

Submitted(+1)

I love this game! The blocks are adorable and the gameplay loop is nice and simple. My only issue is that before you learn to count the squares it's hard to figure out the orientation of the panel when it's far back

Developer

Yeah, maybe we should've taking the grid all the way down the path! Thanks for your comment! :D Gonna check out your game in a bit! :)

Submitted(+1)

Great game and pretty visuals. If this game were continued it might be cool to have even more blocks to add to the chaos;

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing it on your stream was amazing to see! :D More chaos hehe that's almost insane! :D Keep up the positivity, enjoyed watching your stream! :)

Great game! The art is adorable and the puzzle is fun. The ticking clock gives it just the right amount of tension, and I think the level of challenge is perfect. The coins are a nice touch, since they give an optional additional objective beyond just staying alive. I could play this over and over if I didn't want to check out some of the other entries!

Developer

AWWW thanks for you nice comment! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D I'm gonna check out your game right now!! :D

Cute Game. Addictive. And as shigatosis pointed out, one might have issues with the controls initially. But, I got used to it by the end of the 3rd level :)

happy cubes

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment! :D Yeah the controls are tricky at first, but once you got the hang of them it's getting fun!:) Let me check out your game!^^

Sure :)

Adorable artwork and great interpretation of the theme! I did have some issues with the controls though, most of the time it took a few tries to select and deselect the blocks.

Developer(+1)

If you try to deselect don't click on the active cube, because that will reselect it again! :) Thanks for your comment! I'm gonna check your game right now! :D
