Very interesting and fun idea!
Fun take on the jam theme that I haven't seen in any of the games I've tried so far. Presentation is neat and reminds of other popular roguelikes. Could even further simplify the gameplay with just a set power on the spin if you wanted to and could definitely have the potential to be expanded upon in a variety of ways post-jam.
First off, the design of the game is amazing! I really like how all the characters are so cute and the overall aesthetics of the game are wonderful!
However, I think the game is greatly hurt by a lack of indication of what each spin means. The game's description states what each spin does, but there really needs to be some sort of onscreen indication of what is being spun for.
Overall, though, a really nice job!
This is a super cute idea that brought to mind games like Dicey Dungeons and Dice Forge. The character designs and art is amazing, and the clicky sound effects of the wheel really brought things to life. I like the idea of customizing your wheel, though I think the starting wheel could be a little more interesting since landing on the black-0 square 50% of the time in the starting battle made things a bit tedious. Perhaps having only one black-0, one red-1, and the rest yellow-1 to demonstrate the effects to the player. I also think the Power function should be turned down a bit and the wheel made "heavier," if that makes sense, so that if I just tap the button quickly then the wheel spins only a little, rather than making a full circuit or more. But otherwise really great game, hope you continue working on this post-launch since I can see a lot of potential!
By the way, we played your game on our stream last night!
The art was really cute! I enjoyed being able to customize the wheel. I think it would be helpful if there was a box that popped up to describe each piece when you hover your mouse over it. Overall it was fun!
brilliant game! the wheel mechanic is so fun, and i love that you get to customize the wheel. and the cute artstyle/music aaaaa
the only bug that i found was that if the wheel stops on red with mixed wheel pieces, it doesn't replenish health.
Really fun, I would love to see more of this. The gameplay is really good and I loved replacing the pieces with new ones. For feedback, I think that healing between battles takes a little bit of the tension away. Great work, you guys should be really proud!
Fun concept. I'm reminded of how Slay The Spire gives you choices in how to upgrade your deck after each battle; right now you really only have to make choices when it comes to what pieces to discard, having to choose between sets might be more interesting. Its not clear how the power bar affects the spin, making that more obvious could give the player more decisions.
The concept is pretty neat, and the Dicey Dungeons-esque presentation is fun.
Having variable wheel power seems kinda pointless when even the fastest click seems to spin it an unreliable distance, and combat starts getting repetitive pretty quickly. I'd like to see the wheel spin speed be reduced to a more strategically controllable level, and for there to be more types of wheel tiles that cause different effects.
Really fun mechanics, though it didn't quite fit the theme. I think this has a lot of potential, though!
Really charming visuals. The wheel mechanic seems interesting, though it does seem like it needs a bit more refining. It could be used to augment your attacks, but not be the sole way you do the attacks. Everything just comes down to what basically amounts to a coin flip, of which there isn't much strategy. Really nice game though! I would love to see this developed more into a full game!
The artstyle is very cute !!
The option of replacing an element on your wheel is amazing!
Thanks for the experience! :D
Fun game
I love the music and the art syle!
theres a lot to love about this one!! love that the levels seem to get randomized every playthrough to spice things up a bit :) and this is such a unique twist on the saturated turn based mechanic. the difficulty progression was great too, as i progressed things got more and more interesting with healing and numbers within the slots. i wished there were checkpoints or some way to save because i often didnt want to replay the first level. also it'd be cool if, instead of the power bar being a horizontal straight line, it was a circle outline around the wheel so that i know when to exactly release to get which slot. as it was, consequence felt more luck-based than skill-based. hope you expand on this (if you want to) y'all got something promising here!!
this was FANTASTIC! so polished and fun, and the art is so cuuute!! really had a wonderful time with it! the randomness can get a little frustrating, but not enough to stop me from playing for ages!
I really like the wheel mechanic I think you should take it forward in future.
I like the concept but I think the randomness can be too much and depending on the roulette the game could get repetitive. I think it has a lot of potential if done right!
Neat idea. It took me a while to work out that I could vary the power of the spins (oops!) which added a bit more strategy to the battles. Some of the battles got a bit repetitive when all we were spinning was heals for about 5 mins, but definitely an interesting take on turn based battles.
Nice game, it reminds me of turn-based pokemon games, music was also ok with the game, I think you sound to add some more game juice in it, Probably some nice effects when we move the wheel or when we get hit or when the enemy gets hit. Overall its a nice idea :)
