Soo, the game is really nice and the story is damn interesting. My only problem was I didn't really understand the function with that copy and paste, I just pressed enter the whole time.

But the visuals and audio are very pleasing so well done!

Also feel free to give some critique so my game ,would love it :D

Awesome! Just take some more time and develop it into a full on game!

Developer

Thank you! I'm not sure that a full game is in the cards for us but it _would_ be fun!!

Both the presentation and the concept were incredible. I understand 2 days is too short to have some sort of "intelligent" detection for your inputs, but if this concept was given more time and care, I can see this being a brilliant little game.

The atmosphere is really tense in a great way. The combination of the implied mystery and the background sounds like the doors opening and closing really made me feel uneasy, even though I was playing during the day. The high-quality voice acting really made this feel polished, and the subtitles were a thoughtful accessibility feature.

This is one of the first games I've played in this jam where I thought with proper development time could be something really cool. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I had a ton of fun playing with the sounds and I am so glad to have been on a team of people WAY more detail oriented than me - and you can see that shine in their work with the subtitles, voice acting, narrative and UI! It would be super cool to develop this further - we'll see!

This was cool!! Felt like "typing.." stayed bit long but it's all part of the charm :) And when the message popped. It seemed worth it. Very Nostalgic too. I like it !!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! In a shortsighted attempt at immersion, I coded it so it would take more time to type out longer messages, but I think ended up being just kind of an inconvenience :D

Submitted(+1)

Not that  inconvenient :) it does the trick of creating a personality for Clarity.

Submitted(+4)

Very original and creative. Intriguing story, I wanted to know what was going to happen. The sound design and voice acting were very good too.  Didn't feel quite out of control in the sense that I could choose what to say, though it was a fun challenge trying to find the right words. This was very enjoyable, thank you :)

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! It's definitely a game that takes a lot of work from the player to engage with so I appreciate the time you took and certainly see where you're coming from wanting more control over it - I'm excited to try to tackle that problem in different ways in future work!

Submitted(+4)

I really liked the idea and the execution, the game is very well done, especially to be a game jam. Too bad Clarity does not respond based on what you write, but I suppose that in 48 hours there is no time to do something so complex, anyway, good job = D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! As feedback is coming in I'm realizing that the let-down between thinking that it might, and realizing that it in fact does not, respond to your feedback is a pretty negative experience, I wish we could have found some ways to safeguard against that. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Goddamn... 10/10 Speechless.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!

Submitted(+4)

I really enjoyed this, just wanted some form of intellectual response

Developer

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! It would be sooooo cool to have it respond in a clever way but unfortunately that's way out of our comfort zones for a game jam ; ;

Submitted(+6)

Cool experience! Loved the voice-acting and story, it would be cool if the AI could chooe among different replys according to what text the player copy/paste. It seems we used a similar esthetic for our games :-)

I enjoyed your game very much conigliocattivo!

Submitted(+5)

Love the concept, visuals and the voice-acting was really impressive.

I did miss some conclusion ... now I'm wondering what happend ^^

And yes, I also was trying to see if the computer would respond in different ways ... but when I discovered it didn't - I just copy-pasted one word to continue the story.

Nevertheless, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We were trying to explore some space around players building the narrative up in their heads but it is totally reasonable to want a conclusion - and we could have done better in that department for sure. It could have _definitely_ done with some basic text parsing to try to scare people who just pasted one or 0 words into engaging with the systems again so lots of ways to improve it in the future! Thanks for your feedback :)

Submitted(+4)

Awesome idea and amazing visuals! I just wish clarity could respond in different ways, but i understand that would take a lot of work and way more time than 48 hrs! You could maybe limit the answers to one word for simplicity.. You should definitely explore this idea more!

Developer

Oooh limiting to copy / paste one word could be a very interesting direction to go, thanks for the input!! I'm so excited about this sort of design space and every game I participate in I learn a bit more about the potential of different routes.

Really good work!

Developer

Thanks :)

You guys did an amazing job! Great voice acting too!

Developer

Thank you! We were _really_ lucky that Katherine Tole was free to voice act for us, she is great! She did all the lines in like an hour!

Submitted(+4)

This was HUGE. I really like this kind of game, it's so rare to have some much good narrative in a game jam game. Your visual art is elegant. I love the woman voice. You might like my game that is somewhat in the same vibe. Great job, keep creating games!

Developer

Thank you!! I just played your game too and you're totally right! :)

Submitted(+4)

This is a really interesting concept. Of course, what you can do with it is limited, didn't expect more from a 48hour game jam game. Would love to see this expanded!

Developer

Thank you! After getting a chance to see some people play it there are tons of directions I can think to go, idk how the rest of the team feels, I know I'm pretty exhausted after the weekend, but expanding / polishing does seem like a possibility!

Submitted(+4)

This is such a cool idea and the quality of the voice acting was a fun surprise!
It'd be interesting to see how many unique branches can be made if the game were longer. Maybe by not allowing scrolling so there's less variations to keep track of? I guess it would also fit the theme of out of control. Kind of like how there's no delete key for a mistake!

Developer

Thank you!! Making this branching would be comPLETely out of control and *probably* not possible for us but some basic word parsing to detect some stuff would add a lot, I know it's going to be on my mind for a while in any case. *technically* you can highlight your own text and use CTRL + X to "delete" things but it's never really explained and I forget about it myself even though I'm on the team that made it! Also yes! Katherine is amazing!

Submitted(+4)

A really interesting take on the theme, it was really well presented, and I didn't expect a more narrative-heavy game for the jam. My one complaint is that I felt like whatever I typed didn't influence things that much, a lot of the time I hit 'enter' without typing anything in and the game progressed just fine. Maybe I missed some important story beats because of that, idk. Still, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Yali :) :)

I really liked the mood especially with the ambience and voice acting! I do wish the computer said yes or no from time to time as I would awkwardly answer with "phone" sometimes, but I enjoyed the intriguing writing.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah we should have probably had it say yes or no early on.. oh well live and learn :)

Submitted(+4)

Great game! Its fun to figure out what text to use and I love the crt graphics.

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+4)

What a game! Thats a great take on the theme. The presentation was great!

Developer

Thanks!
