How does your game fit the theme?
My approach was to try to take away things that are used to be in control of the player: the capability to jump, the aim, and also added RNG so it feels a little more "chaotic". The player can only run and shoot their hook but they take the risk and can die trying.

Having trouble with crosshair ending up off-screen.

Nice idea, this is tough. like the art and music!

Cool idea!

I would've loved a drifting aim in the general direction of the cursor or something. Now there are too many times where you can't progress due to randomness / waiting for an aim to be where you know you must go.

I like the idea! Well done.

like the colour scheme of the game :D

Came here to say that the aiming could be better, but well, that is a known fact.
Game is fun, though. Would fit gmtk2018 theme -- a genre without mechanic.

Really cool game! I like the idea and the presentation. If I were to cherry pick, I would've wished for better logic for the aiming, it seemed a bit too OUT OF CONTROL now.

Very fun

I liked the idea, but felt that I had little to no agency in the game, maybe if you had a little control of the aim and had to fight against the random movement to shoot the grappling where you wanted it would be more engagin for the player, but nice submission overall congrats!

Thank you. Yes, when testing sometimes the aim gets a little crazy. If someday I make an extended version I will surely take your recommendation.

Awesome concept. You should think about making an extended post jam version :)

I like the visuals. Kind of reminds me of a randomized Celeste :)

The whole idea of "randomizing" the hook direction is actually an interesting way to take away control. Unfortunately, it results in pretty much just waiting until you get the right hook direction—which can be frustrating at some times.

Cheers, Louis

The look is very nice. But it was boring to have to wait the rng place the hook where I wanted to go, and then it just explodes and you have to redo the stage. Maybe it would be less frustrating if only the angle of the hook was random.

Submitted(+1)

The rng kinda kills it. Wish there was a way to make it less frustrating while adhering to the theme

Submitted(+1)

The look of this is really awesome!  I wasn't able to figure out the hook lol but I like the idea!

I liked the concept very much. What would happen if spiderman can't control the web shooters XD

Great Job for the game. Really liked it :D

Really like the presentation, for me the gameplay it self was kinda too hard but it fits the theme very well and was a great idea!

I enjoyed playing your game. The art looks awesome. Good job

Submitted(+1)

The art is really cute! I think that the fact that the aim is 100% random makes it less fun. If you had to fight against it, it would make a cool concept.

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, I liked the game. Sometimes it felt like a waiting game though so maybe it would feel better to not make the pointer placement totally random, other than that good job!

Really liked the game, the only downside is the extreme rng, got stuck in second screen for about 5 minutes thanks to the aim never spawning right above my head :(
