Cool game, I like it!! The minimalist art and the mechanics are pretty great . At the beginnig I lose on the first rounds but when I figured out how it works I enjoyed it so much (more than I expected).
Nice job!!
Really nice game, simple but clever mechanic that can be figured out without any explanation. Makes you feel smart when you figure it out.
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you had a good experience with the game <3 <3
This is a really good take on the theme, and a unique concept. Also really nice colour schemes (Though some colours were a bit too similar sometimes). Is it randomised every level?
Thank you so much for playing <3 <3 We worked with randomized palettes of 6 colors and 3 sets of shapes, so it does create some less obvious combinations sometimes. After the jam we will work more on the palettes because they are such an important part of the gameplay, thanks for the comment!
No problem, good luck in the jam!
I really love how intuitive the game is. It really just explains itself with no text.
Thanks so much for playing Kris! The simplicity makes it self explanatory and we also really liked this about the game <3 <3
This is clever and fits perfectly the theme! The game mechanics are clear and simple. It's quite challenging but without putting pressure on the player. One small flaw ist that some are hard to distinguish from each other. BUT I could play it for hours and for sure I'll play it later again. Hands down, for me is this one of the best games in this jam so far.
Thank you so much, that's very good to hear! We will improve some of the shapes and the color palettes after the jam to make it more clear since it's such an important part of gameplay. But we're super glad you enjoyed it! <3 <3
You're welcome :)
Great! I'm looking forward to that.
This is very chill (suggested soundtrack: https://hotelpoolsmusic.bandcamp.com/album/hotel-pools-constant) It took me a couple tries to get the trick, but once I did that I feel like there wasn't much to the puzzle, beyond a "Where's Waldo?" style spotting puzzle. Still, I played a lot longer than was hard just because I enjoyed clearing the board, so...
Thanks for the feedback and for playing :)
Such a nice sound track :D Is it yours?
Nah, I just looked for something appropriate to listen to while I played it.
Lovely idea. The first minutes of figuring it out are great. However, once you know how to do it you can do it everytime no problem. I wouldn't know how to change this and it's probably fine.
Thank you for playing and the feedback :) Yep actually we have some couple ideas to improve the game progression, (add countdowns, leaderboard, or maybe pickups) we might try out some stuff when the jam is over ;D
Countdowns are a way of solving this, but it could also easily ruin the whole thing. Maby it's just my personal preference, but I enjoy games like this way more, when I'm not on a timer.
Hey, nice job! I appreciate the fact that you only were able to work on this game on Sunday, but I think this game provides a polished experience nonetheless.
Design [3/5]: There are two things I love about this game. The first is that every puzzle has multiple solutions, allowing players to choose their own path. The second is that the game doesn't bombard players with a patronizing tutorial. The developers knew that players were smart enough to figure out how the game works without hand-holding or even any text tutorials. After poking around for a bit, it becomes clear what the objective is and what you need to do to avoid trapping yourself into an unsolvable situation. I love that the goal of the game and how to achieve it isn't immediately obvious, but something that you have to discover through the gameplay itself.
Having said all of that, I don't think there's too much to the experience after that. A dominant strategy quickly emerged for me, and it wasn't long before I was just blowing through levels. I don't think there's enough depth to the gameplay to keep me engaged for longer than a couple of minutes. I think that what is there is executed brilliantly, but I think the gameplay gets repetitive very quickly, and I don't see how it could be expanded upon to add variety without destroying the simplicity (which, I believe, is one of the selling points for this game).
To sum up: I enjoyed playing it, but only for a couple minutes, and I don't feel very motivated to go back for more.
Adherence to the Theme [5/5]: The object of the game is to remove all the puzzle pieces until only one remains. Nice job!
Originality [4/5]: There's a card game called Set which is pretty similar to this game. Players have to form sets of three cards based off of color, shape, or number until the deck is exhausted. It's an interesting puzzle game, and it's functionally very similar to your game. Having said that, I think your game is still original due to the artwork and the ultra-simplistic design. After all, Set has an instruction manual that teaches players how to play the game, but yours doesn't require any such handholding. It's really nice!
Great job! Hope to see more from you in the future.
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback :) glad you enjoyed, we had some other couple ideas to improve the game progression but time was short, so we kept with the simplicity for this one hehehe. Thanks for playing :D
Intriguing! I like the style and the concept, though it could use some sound effects to give that extra juice. But overall really great job!
Thanks for the feedback. We will definitely add sounds to the game later on, I think it will add good vibes for the game feel :)
At first glance it looks simple, but it turned out to be quite clever! It's nice that the game lets you learn by trial and error :) It also looks really pretty in its simplicity, with fun shapes and colors.
Yayy thanks Maya!!
Very cool! Some of the interactions get a bit buggy if you're moving fast (could use multiple colliders to help that) but other than that its a good concept that was executed well :)
Quite interesting concept and nails the theme. If it had some sounds it would be great
Yep, we actually did it on Sunday so the time was really really short. But we might polish it more over the weeks :)
Thanks for playing! Will give a shot on yours later tonight :)
I like it! Both idea and feeling.
Thanks :) I gonna play yours later tonight :D
