Hey, Wei Jiun! I know I played this ages ago, but considering I'm coming back to download and play it again post-jam, I just wanted to let you know I really do love the style and aesthetic of this game. You said in an earlier comment that you ran out of time to add more combos and end game goals, but were it not for the fact I had more art to draw, I would've gladly kept playing your game for far longer than I'd openly admit. Love the sound effects (still think there should be sad trumpet sounds when you try to make an all bread sandwich! :P), love the music, love the art, love the gameplay, love the sandwiches!

Keep up the good work, buddy; you have a unique sense of humour, and I'd love to see more of it! :D

Thank you so much for your kind words, buddy! It really means a lot to me that you remember my game out of all the 2000+ amazing games in the jam! :D I shall look into expanding the sandwich making experience in the near future, all bread, trumpets a tutting and the whole she-bang! I look forward to seeing more of your fantastically creative games too! :D

heavily look forward to seeing an expanded sandwich making experience, I'll be keeping my eye out for sure! And of course I'd remember the game about making the best dang sandwich possible in one click - on my first post-jam playthrough, I survived nine minutes before I realised it was 1am and I should probably stop. ;D And thank you so much, I hope to keep providing games that are a real fun time! :D

Update: I wasn't kidding - I find this game really fun and relaxing to play!

WOW WOW WOW!! That's an amazing achievement, all hail the Sandwich Hero!!! :D I feel an online leader board needs to be added! I've made a list of things I wanted to add, but couldn't find time to work on it yet, due to busy times with work! Thanks for sharing, keeps me motivated to get back on the game! :D

I'd totally get behind an online leader board! :D And I totally understand being busy, buddy, but I'm glad you've got that list! More than happy to share, your game brings me joy to play! Keep up the good work! :D

My only complaint would be that ingredients disappear when going too far outside the screen even when you have them on your sandwich.

I will just paste that here and let that speak for how i appreciated the game

My friend, you are the ONE TRUE SANDWICH HERO!! *Bows down* :D
That is an incredible achievement, I'm am extremely humbled by your dedication to game! Thank you so much for playing it, for so long! :D

I shall investigate the mysterious case of the disappearing sandwich fillings, thank you for reporting it! :)

Nice concept with simple and clear mechanics. Well executed and with a funny setting. It was kind of relaxing and fun to play. I like it very much, well done!!

Thank you so much for playing! :D

The game is simple and funny. Good design. I don't like too much the PC because of his eyes, but the sound effects made me laugh. The music is comical.

Your approach to the theme is interesting because the game works only with one click, and that means that it is over once the player releases the button.

Looks pretty original regarding its mechanic, you could maybe add levels and a deeper story to see where it ends.

And thanks for playing our game Mocho VS Mostros.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing the game, and for the useful feedback! :) I look forward improving on the game. Yes, the character does have shifty eyes, hard to trust a character like that.. haha! ;)

Very cool concept, I like how it's getting harder the longer the sandwich gets. Cool art and sounds

Thank you so much for playing the game!! :D

That was awesome! Got 20 layers as my biggest sandwich. Really love how unwieldy it gets once you have more than 15 layers.

Additionally, nice polish with the animations and sound effects when picking up unneeded food, and the background changing color was a nice touch as well. Was fun!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! :) Well done on the loooong sandwich, it does gets crazy when swinging around a long sandwich! haha! :D

I always spend too long tweaking animations, picking colours, and adding sound; I'm so glad you appreciate it! :)

Just finished a couple of play throughs, this is a really fun game!

I really liked how the mechanics were inherently explained as you play. If you don't start your sandwich with a bit of bread the sound design lets you know that you are stuffing up, and when you get a big sandwich the game lets you know that that is a good thing.

I really liked the music and design of the main character as well, it certainly had a lot of personality!

All in all, great take on the theme and a very fun game to play. Thanks for making it!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing the game, and for your comment! It's great that the designer in you can appreciate what goes on the behind the scenes. I believe in learning through intuitive gameplay, so I try to design the games without lengthy tutorials; I'm still learning myself :)

Quite the original idea, I would have never thought of that! And fun too. Well done.

I can only judge by the gifs, because I don't have any Windows machine, but it looks fun! :)
(Linux version maybe? It's just a few clicks in Godot)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for dropping by my page! :) I just made a Linux version; Godot FTW! Unfortunately, uploads are disabled during the game jam voting period. I'll put it on after the game jam.

Very addictive, my kids got hooked!  I like the style of graphics.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing, comrade! :) I'm glad it is still visually appealing, as drawing isn't my strong skill! haha!

Fun idea. Building your sandwich with as much layers as possible. I hit up a 29 layer one. It was huge! And delicious. Neat idea.

Stay crunchy.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! :) My personal best was 26, so well done! That's a huuuuge sandwich, it takes some skill to swing it around and not get breaded!

Really cool idea. I liked how your goal changed a little bit from moment to moment. Sometimes you're looking for anything to fork into and other times you're running away from bread trying to add layers make a super sandwich. Nice work.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing the game! :) Ah yes, the age old dilemma.. to bread or not to bread! haha! As you mentioned on your game page, I ran out of time too.. couldn't fit more sandwich combos, and end game goals.
