Impressive, too emotional. You get all the stars from me. :O

I immediately knew where this was going, still played till the end. Good job!

You really brought me to tears.

its a perfect execution for the tasks great job. I wish overwatch hired you for the jiggle physics

Dang.  I called it pretty much right away on where the story was going but you still almost had me crying when the dog dropped the ball at the end.  Really excellent way to tell a story and you really nailed it with the prompt.  Incredible job!

Watching the puppy grow, I could tell where the story was heading but I couldn't predict how well it would be presented. Seeing the family's grief and the ball in the dog's mouth was very moving and the changes to him as he aged was good too, particularly when he slowed down. If you were to expand the game, I think it would be cool if the garden shows the passage of time too

Thank you! I originally wanted to have a tree in the garden that grows over time, but then I'd have to add actual pathfinding mechanics to the doggo and more ways to ensure you can never lose the ball, so it got deprioritized because I had more important sad things to implement

I wasn't ready to be this sad 😭

Meanie head. You get 1 star for every tear I cried. Which is zero. Because I didn't even cry at all. 10/10.

I secretly had so much fun bouncing the ball off of my dad's face. Cute, simple, perfect.

10 / 10 cinema. Well done my friend! :D

Great story! I love the tiny details in the storytelling - the NPC looking at the ball, you getting higher, and the dog moving slower as it gets old.

Good job!

I will never forgive you for the tears you injected into my eyes ;_;

10/10 game

A fantastic game. The story was good and well presented and the mechanics fit the round's theme very well. Well done!

So sad. Well done. 😥

This is so emotional right from the beginning, the music kinda revealed where it was going but then I started to think about my own previous pets and just cried when throwing the ball one last time. What a soul purifying and destroying experience. You really nailed the storytelling part (and also the other parts), what a genius masterpiece. 5/5 game in every category but I'll never want to play it again.

ALSO the way you tell the story via simple gameplay works really well, it reminds me of Edith Finch and some of the minigames there, especially the baby bath and swing ones. Don't know if you've played it but had to mention.

There's not much gameplay but the story is quite touching and it manages to address every part of the criteria decently well. I found the story to be a bit predictable but it was still enjoyable and kept me playing. The customization options were surprisingly robust. Sometimes the dog would run in a circle around the ball instead of picking it up for me which doesn't seem intended but other than that I didn't run into any bugs. Overall, good job!

Although predictable, it still powerful. Very well presented, how I felt myself moving towards the dog instead of letting it come to me was very impactful. Cool gender customization options too, never seen it done like that before, glad you used the opportunity!

Thank you! I wasn't quite sure how to handle growing up, because I want players to self-insert themselves into the story for maximum emotional damage. Doing it like this felt like a good way to do it without eating up too much development time, so I'm glad to see that it's appreciated :D

Damn, out here trying to make a grown man cry. Perfect entry for the story round. Well done!

I'm ugly-crying right now. What the hell is wrong with you?

10/10 game but I hate you

Developer(+1)

Totally understandable, I cried too a couple of times when making this :')

Sorry for putting you through all this so unexpectedly and I'm glad you appreciate the result!
