Fantastic continuation of the Crunkle series. Excellent story seamlessly fitting all three games. Great art and gameplay as always. I had to play through twice to make sure I got all of the different options. One of my favorites this round. 

Just to nitpick a little, the cutscene was a bit fast, had to watch twice to make I got all the details. Also, one of the save points had an enemy right outside, so when I respawned sometimes I would immediately get hit.

I’m very disappointed that there’s not more. This could be a great start to something amazing, I really hope we get to see more in the future. The aesthetics are your games are always amazing. Fantastic job and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I’m getting distracted by browsing some of your older games. The quality is really up there for everything I see. I feel you like are the person to beat this GDKO. 

Excellent and adorable game. You really nailed the task for this round perfectly. Great story from start to finish.

 

One small thing is that it was not clear to me that I had to pick up the first sword. I got a bit frustrated and almost quit. Once I figured it out it was a joy to play.

Thanks for the update. I went back to tried to get over 100 again, but only managed 80 something and the score did not save. That 105 must have been a fluke. I'm having a hard time trying to get over 100 again. Overall fantastic game.

I really hate the dark level, I’m glad the darkness was not quite fully black or I would not have made it past. I found that on the levels with sides that you can wall jump out of the top of the level. 

I’m impressed that you managed to submit with your situation. It would have been nice to see what you had planned for this round, since it seems like this would have been the perfect round for Sir Spectacles. Hopefully we get to see more of him in the future.

Adorable artwork with a minimalistic color palette. Fun gameplay and the ending ties the whole story together seamlessly. Great job.

You always take such a simple idea and make it fun from stick figures to photos. Kind of a different take on found footage film. I really enjoyed playing and wish there was more. Nice creepy atmosphere, forced my wife to shut the door because she could not stand the audio.

Fun game, I really enjoyed playing and went for the high score. The cave, paintings and fire really set the mood for this game.  Great job.

I would have kept playing but I’m having some issues with your leaderboard. I reached 105 points, after entering my name it disappeared. So, I played again getting 82, then again and got less. After that my 82 points looks like it’s bumped off the screen. 

I made a video where you can see my 82 points for a split second before it gets bumped off. 

I had fun playing with the kid. With some work this could be a great party game. Love the ability to pick and throw just about everything. 

Thanks for the playthrough, I really enjoyed yours as well. The mouse controls were me just trying to do something different from the standard keyboard controlled rhythm games. It probably just added unnecessary complexity to my game.

I have an accuracy system programmed into the game, but web version really missed up the timing, unfortunately I had to throw it out. I wanted to have multiple songs and difficulties, but editing the song was just so tedious and time consuming. If I ever make another rhythm game again, I will have to build a song editor for quickly building levels. Thanks for the playthrough and comments.

I was confused at first, but quickly picked it up the game. Would love to see this idea expanded on, maybe having to combine different foods or overheating them. Very neat snapping effect. I would prefer a simpler control setting, but yours worked just fine for the jam. Good job. 

Fun creepy little game you have here. Feels like the perfect length for a game jam too. Always love the retro art style you go for. I wish I could do as much as you with such a limited color palette. Amazing job.

Love the aesthetics of this game. The green UI made me think of the Alien films. As soon as I started to play, I realized it was a computer screen and I was easily able figure it out. I think better controls and maybe larger target areas would make it feel a lot better. Great job.

Nice game, it reminds me of Doctor Rhythm. You really push the theme to the theme to the extreme here. I really enjoying playing it. I would like to have a bit more feedback on how I did, but overall great job.

Nice clean art style. Timing felt great. I’m disappointed that it was so short, I want more. Fun little game. One minor thing I noticed is that you can just spam the buttons and hit all the notes. Overall great job.

You really nailed the look and feel of rhythm games. The large variety of songs and unlock system is fun. I like how you muffled the song on a miss, that’s a good way to communicate the miss. If you need some help to find some good royalty free music for future jams, just ask around the discord.

Creative use of the theme. I really like the simple gameplay and how it fits so well with the audio. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the story round. Also, I enjoy the simple pixel art, works well with the audio cues. Great job.

I really love the style, you made sketch drawings look amazing. The camera controls feel good and the animations are neat. I would really like to see this idea expanded on. 

Apprently, I did not test enough on the web build, so this bug slilpped through. Luckily high combos are the way to gain the highest scores, so not that many people found this bug. Thanks for the comments and playthrough. 

Fun little game. The red and black car is my favorite, those are my colors. Great take on the theme. Just to nitpick a little, I would not mind a quick restart and keyboard controls for selecting cars and starting the game.

Neat use of AI art. AI seems like it would be such a good tool to use with game dev, but it also has a large learning curve. I would love to see more in future rounds, the roguelike elements sound interesting with this type of game.

Hilarious game. It pissed me off, I was determined to catch more than one plate. I ended up with three total. Nice ending, great job. 

Nice simple art style and color palette. It was fun upgrading everything and then getting to rain down destruction on the level. 

I can’t believe the crowd would throw tomatoes at someone holding a gun! Neat idea for the theme. 

Cute simple art style. It’s fun building up everything and growing the trees. I’m curious to know what else you had planned for this game. Maybe if the theme allows you could continue to develop it in future rounds. 

You probably don’t know this, but last year’s GDKO had the recurring theme of naked butts. Thanks for carrying on the tradition. I had fun playing through both difficulties. I thought the game was fairly easy overall, surprised to see other had trouble. Good job. 

Fantastic implementation of the theme. It was fun trying to find the balance in this game to make it to the end, perfect difficultly for a game jam. 

I find this game annoyingly addictive. I keep wanting to play to go for the high score. Look great and fits the theme perfectly, great job.

It’s great to see how far you have come since last year. I’m happy to finally see some artwork in your game and the pixel looks great. I wish the gameplay was a little faster pace, maybe instead of doing multiple rounds of the same number, just increase it by one each round. Also, the colors were a bit confusing, especially with the light, the purple/pink and green/blue were a little too similar, maybe some images go to along with the colors. Overall, great job on your round 1. 

Excellent entry for only a week of work. So many little details with the world map, achievement system and levels, not sure how you found the time. Your games are going to be scary good with the full two weeks moving forward. 

I really love your interpretation of the theme with the Hibachi. With two buttons, I was also considering making a rhythm game, but so hard to get them to feel right. I think some different colored spatulas to differentiate between would help to improve the gameplay. My daughter said the characters are cute, they remind me of the characters from Rimworld. Great job.

Looks great with the simple art style. Once I got use to the controls, felt great to play. Amazing leaderboard system you have set up, especially with the ghosts.

Fun game little game here. At first the thought the controls were going to be too hard for me, but a bit of playing they felt great and I was able to finish the game. I would love to see a variety of enemies/turrets. This has a lot of potential.
