All five stars for me! Very excellently done.

Aw, thank you and thanks for playing!

Solid entry, and love seeing how this saga continues! Also you did a great job retelling the story of the prior rounds without it being over kill, the sequence of several very short scenes told the story very well. I also think having the choices of what to do during the game helps reinforce the idea of the storytelling being central. I got at least two endings, and thanks to your tip on how to beat the boss, I figured out the detail of standing underneath to get the spider to do my dirty work.

Thank you. There are three endings, one where both mother and daughter are killed, on where the mother is killed, and the best ending. The first two are the same except the last part, so if you got two that's pretty much it. Thanks for playing!

What a great game! love the art style, and that you had the option to choose which path to take. That is such a good idea! I will say the beginning story part was a little fast but other than that it was a great game!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it. I agree that the intro and some of the other cutscenes could have use a lot more polish.

You've always done great with Crunkle but this one especially I really loved.  Having the player choice impact the story was a really smart move, and it was REALLY satisfying to get different endings based on what I chose instead of just a pseudo choice.  Based on the other comments I think there's a general consensus that the intro cutscene moved a little fast and I'd agree with that.  I felt like I was struggling to follow.  Some of your cutscenes had a button input to progress them and I think it would have been good to see it there as well so the player could progress once they felt they understood the current scene.  No critiques besides that, though.  Great game and great entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing. I had a skip button in the plan, but I had to work through what I thought was the more important things first. And of course, the cut scene being too fast is definitely a problem.

I MADE A NOTE SO I WONT FORGET: "comment on the logo having no letters to comply with the round's theme"

XD man that was a great easter egg!

Amazing work! Great to see the story continue, allowing us to revisit the sewers <3 and giving choices of where to go and what to do! The long level climbing the buildings was my worst. I kept dying from falling down so many times I was about to quit.. and then i remembered your checkpoint system by hiding, and found the open windows. Loved the consistency you are showing with this world, love the story love the art! Congratulations on an amazing entry!

Thank you and thanks for playing!

This year I'm feeling the gb palette and rez and I'm creatively locked to this world for now for better or worse.

I get what you mean 100%.

I think its beautiful what you've created here, the characters, the story, the world building. It is brimming with passion ( I was also going say "and with life" but that would be ironic with all that exposed doot doot clacium).

The story is very engaging, I like how it is told between levels and how I can make choices to influence it.

The amount of art that went into this game, with all the cutscenes, is impressive. And all of it is great!

The intro cutscene is really well made and though it could be slower, I think I understood that it was like a recap of main character's story.

Maybe that's your vision for this game, but in my opinion jumping shouldn't take like a second after pressing the button. After I learned that jumping while running is immediate, it made platforming 10x better.

Overall, a really solid entry. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing. I agree with you and others that the cutscenes were a little too quick. The jumping should have been addressed, it wouldn't have taken long to fix, but I didn't get around to it. It's only a fraction of a second, but I should make it like .1 or .05 seconds.

Thank you for your feedback.

Yay, another installment of the Crunkle series! I love the stealth elements of this one and enjoyed being able to pick my path. Only advice would be slower cutscenes, but that's a small nitpick. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah, I think if I slowed the cutscenes down and made them skippable it would have made it better.

Fantastic continuation of the Crunkle series. Excellent story seamlessly fitting all three games. Great art and gameplay as always. I had to play through twice to make sure I got all of the different options. One of my favorites this round.

Just to nitpick a little, the cutscene was a bit fast, had to watch twice to make I got all the details. Also, one of the save points had an enemy right outside, so when I respawned sometimes I would immediately get hit.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

I appreciate the nitpicking, those are at least two of the things that need to be fixed.

It’s fantastic to see the continuation of your game and the extra levels are really awesome. I think it’s really clever using the beast to defeat Crunkle and I like the other bad guys too. The cutscenes throughout the game capture the story perfectly and prove that a picture really is worth a thousand words

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you figured out the boss fight! I think it's a little tough to figure out. I didn't have time to put in the demonstration of it.

I like how I can pick the route I want to go, and how every level had multiple routes to colplete. At first I went to the police, but I didnt like that ending, so I tried to fight crunkle, but I couldnt damage him.
Still a pretty good entry, I like the short cutscenes that tell the story, and how its tied to the leves and gameplay. Good Job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I put the hearts above the switches as a hint to using the floor switches. I didn't want the best ending be too easy, so when you're fighting Crunkle you have to call the spider, then have Crunkle between you and the spider when the spider attacks. You do get unlimited tries.
