I had a lot of trouble completing the level with the moving light but eventually managed to get it 💪

Very well polished and cute game

Super cute sprites and animations. I liked the mechanic of the lighting making the platforming more challenging. Glad you were able to get something submitted! Hope to see you in the next round. :D

Love the idea, the game is really nice to play. Congrats !

There was definitely a story of heart and key! Though I’m not sure what it was, I guess from context it’s a love of the different user interface elements? Was a little bit abstract and wouldn’t say the gameplay itself necessarily overly reinforced that, but still a cute idea and having the UI elements exhibit ranges of emotions over the course of the game was a nice touch. Fun variety of levels which broke the 4th wall in some good ways and a lot of mechanics introduced, nice!

The first level with the darkness and rotating light felt a bit cruel and unnecessary, as I spent ages just waiting for the light to come back around so I could make a single safe jump at a time out of fear of falling down. I later realized that on upping my screen brightness, I could at least jump the platforms on my own without waiting for the key and heart, so that made it easier. Everything after by comparison felt quite a bit easier while still introducing some challenges here and there.

You realllly love making games with multiple levels!! Really enjoyed the story and game play, what a great game!!

The story and the game in this were both great. The story was engaging and the game was just enough to keep me going.

The storytelling is really good, I had to play it twice, because I found out how to walljump and fell out of the level once. Couldnt restart the level, so had to restart the game. But that wasnt a problem, because the story it told so good, I do like, how the level difficulty suddenly gets way harder, to underline the story.  Great entry.

That's a very original concept for a story game. And even though I didn't understand some plot points, I think got the overall idea. I like the U+I letters at the end, but I am not sure if that fits this task. The amount of levels is impressive and I like how every level was different (the dark level was very hard, though!). All the art and animations are very pretty. Well done!

I agree, great and original! I also suffered quite a lot on the dark level... took me ages to get up, then I assume a key was lost somewhere, fell down to find it many times.

I know on the discord you were saying story telling is hard and you didn't feel super confident about your entry, but honestly I think this tells a solid story really well!  One of my favorite entries of the jam and one of my few full five stars!

Adorable game and sweet story you have here. I had to play through twice just to make sure that was not missing anything. Great job.

I really hate the dark level, I’m glad the darkness was not quite fully black or I would not have made it past. I found that on the levels with sides that you can wall jump out of the top of the level.

thanks for playing :)   and  i  probably forgot to put roofs on the levels :L

Usually making the UI work is my least favorite part of a game, but you seem to have done it well (:

Impressed by the amount of levels and the art is super cute. I especially love the little guy you play as and the way his/hers (don't want to misgender them) eyes pop when you jump. Very well done.

never have i felt so invested in UI before, great little story and fun concept

I’m impressed with how many levels there are and I especially liked the later levels with the spikes but the true star of the show was the ending. The way the letters come together was a nice touch and a really satisfying way to conclude the game
