Great start with a compelling look and feel! A lot of us had a hard time finishing this round. I sure did! Kudos for getting something submitted, and I hope you make it to the next round!
Thank you for the kind words! And I would love if we all made it to the next round!!
The daemon carrying the queen away at the start really sets a tone for the game. Plus, the music is epic, it definitely builds anticipation for something big to come. I really like the 3D artwork, the knight looks cool and it's great that you have to give him a sword. It'd be interesting to see where this all goes and I think what you've got so far has grabbed my interest for sure
Thank you for the feed back!! Yea you were supposed to come back to the daemon and fight him after visiting the blacksmith fixing the broken sword!
Help LordHermes!
Tried to find princess fell to the underworld (no princess)
Then saw warrior in house from window, gave sword and watch a marching.
We admired the caves together.
To some it might seem as Lord Hermes not having enough time to complete this work, but actually I am convinced this game portrays the story of humanities fascination with archaeology. Let me explain. You are promised adventure and reward (the winged monster and the princess). You survey the land (as I did by going in the underworld). You gather your equipment, assemble a team. Things take time and you can only sit and watch. You go to the cite and admire the dank caves. Winning!
(just a bit of banter Hermes! Great work as previous comments have mentioned, its great you are expanding this! But in all honesty, I actually like my archaeologyI am convinced this game portrays the story of humanities fascination with archaeology story now hehe)
Now this is just hilarious, thank you for your adaptive take on my game! lol :D
Really cool details on the main menu scene. I like the slow buildup, it sets the mood for the game. During the walk, the player can admire the cave's size. The music also fits very well here and makes the situation more dramatic. It's unfortunate that there is nothing more, because the intro made me feel like I am ready to fight the monster.
Thanks for playing! You are actually supposed to fight the monster after you take the sword to a blacksmith to make it better! :(
cool intro cutscene, shame u ran out of time
Thanks for playing! I really wish I had a better structure to work on my time management skills...
Love the continued use of the lowpoly art style, I’m always a fan! The presentation in the intro cinematic worked really well, on the nose but totally clear.
As for the rest of “didn’t have time”, I think that’s the real untold story of this round of GDKO, at the very least, that hit home for me too 😂
Though I’m sure you’re aware, some thoughts all the same:
The art style is really enjoyable, the style fits well with the story but I do wish there was more to the game.
I agree, I really wanted to add more and hade a whole story planed out, just ran out of time.. You were supposed to pick up a broken sword once the knight died, take the sword to the blacksmith, and make a better one. Then go back and kill the monster...
You've created a big world and it definitely has a potential of a much bigger game. I dig the art style as well :)
Btw, how did you make the camera following the demon scene? did you create a demon controller to play and then recorded his movement?
You'll want to look into the world of "cinemachine" it opens a whole new world of awesome camera features!
Really loved seeing this art style again! Sorry you ran out of time, but I liked what you had!
Thank you for taking the time to play the game! And yea that whole adult life thing kinda sucks lol
