Thanks for playing! I did watch the VOD of you streaming the game, and it was fun to see your playthrough. Even though it wasn't exactly a glowing review, the feedback is super useful. I appreciate you taking the time to play the game despite it's jankyness haha.

I managed to get all the way through. Super engaging story and the first time I've played a text adventure like this. I used to love reading give yourself goosebumps back in the day so it was a nice throw back. It gives me a headache thinking about how you must have planned this game out. Really great job though, well done!
I think the overall feel of this game is super polished. The UI, art and audio really came together very well and I think your UI in particular is brilliant. The mini-map was a good choice and implemented really well. Like others have echoed, the only thing really I had trouble with was figuring out the controls. The camera felt a little off as well. Honestly though, a really impressive game to be made in such a short space of time. Fantastic job!
A lovely homage to paperboy! I suck at playing with keyboard and mouse so I found controlling the controls a little tricky. Other than that (which is entirely a skill issue on my part) I thought this was one of the best games I've played in the jam so far and has a really solid game loop. Really cool entry. Great job!
I really liked the atmosphere of this game, I think if you would have added audio it could have been creepy as hell. Proper jump scare when the zombies come at you in the basement! I had some difficulty understanding what I had to do, but I definitely appreciate what you were going for here. I managed to plant some of the seeds and get them to grow, I'm assuming the key seeds I can use to open locked doors? Still, I thought it was an interesting project, just needs a little explanation and some audio. Good job!
You can definitely see the potential in this game. I really liked the art style, the bug animations in particular were really nice. I liked how you had to search in the trees and rocks, some kind of visual change in them to make it obvious which ones you searched would be a good addition. Overall, nice little retro experience. I enjoyed it. Good job!
A lovely twist on Snake! The gameplay felt solid, I thought the UI at the start of the game was a good choice, I didn't read it properly the first time around and then I understood the game a lot better the second time. The visuals were nice, and there was a decent level of difficulty in moving through the castle bits. The audio track seemed to cut out after a little while, which is my only real criticism. Overall, really good job. Well done!
I loved the vibe of the game. The graphics in particular were really nice, including the duck animations for dashing! The gameplay felt challenging, I was getting my ass kicked alot! It probably would benefit from some kind of map, but I'm guessing it was by design to keep people a little lost. Really cool game, good job!
Think you've got a real talent for making great game loops and addictive mechanics. Another really solid entry from you. I'll echo a couple comments about the mouse controls feeling a little clunky, but given the task, there's not a lot you could have done differently.
You've done well in all the categories for me. Great job.
Another round, another great game from Joszs.
I saw in the discord you only started this game rather late in the two weeks, so kudos to you for managing to get an impressive game like this out in just a few days. The puzzles were really well done, and the game is very polished as has been the case every round. I'll echo a couple points made here that some of the objects felt a little redundant, but that'll happen when you try to squeeze in 14 random objects.
Overall, another impressive entry. Looking forward to seeing your finals submission ;)
Loved the opening cutscene and as always the atmosphere of your game was top notch. The art, mechanics, sound, UI are all super polished. I've probably said this every round, but it's not the type of game I usually would opt to play. That being said, it's pretty clear to me that if you were into card based games, this would be a real jam.
You fitted in most of the required objects, and overall you did well in all the required categories for me.
Great job man. Well done.
It's a shame you didn't fully flesh out this game, as it looks like it could have been one of the top games of the round. It's kinda similar to what I had in mind for my R3 game. You should definitely consider expanding it. Impressive work considering you weren't going to submit at all originally!
Also, love the viewport of the character.
Good job man, you've been one of the top devs all throughout the competition. Who knows, maybe Xanderwood will throw in a wildcard spot...
I have been looking forward to playing this since you first teased some gameplay in the discord. I absolutely adore Resident Evil, and this was such a fantastic tribute to the series and other horror games of it's kind. I am genuinely awestruck at how much you have managed to achieve in two weeks. I wish I was anywhere close to you in terms of your skills as a solo dev, and if I could bet on anyone to win this entire competition I would bet the house on you.
The game was super polished, I loved everything about it. Managed to clear it in 30 minutes with a C rank, no mech suit for me :(
10/10. Incredible work.
I really loved the idea behind this game, and the overall theme you went for including everybody's game in the mechanics. I was waiting to see my game pop up and see what kinda buffs you gave Iron Dawn!
The visuals, and Ui were nicely polished, and the mechanics worked smoothly, I didn't encounter any major bugs. I had a little jittering with the audio at certain points in the game but nothing major.
It's not the typical kinda game I would play, I'm too simple for strategy and thinking haha. It seemed like if you were into that, you could really lose a lot of time figuring out the perfect placement of the cards for an optimal strategy. The pack opening animations were sweet, and visually it looked fantastic.
I can tell alot of work must have gone into this game, thinking about how to make this gives me a headache!
Overall, fantastic job. Well done.
Fun little cosy game. Clever interpretation of the rounds task.
Like a few of the other games I've played so far, you opted to make something fairly simple in terms of mechanics, but I think you've done a really good job of adding complexity and strategy to what at first glance might appear straightforward.
I'm pretty sure you hit all the required objects, although I didn't do a full check, and the theme of the game worked well in tandem with the rating criteria.
The game itself felt polished, it all looked very clean and the scissors and crayon mechanic were a nice touch. The sound and audio was cute, fit the overall theme of the game.
The premise of the game was easy to understand, the only thing I would say is (and it seems to have happened with alot of the games to be honest), the sheer amount of objects in the game, somehow detracted from the overall balancing and I was a little overwhelmed with all the different buffs/debuffs to really get hooked on the game loop. Which is not entirely your fault as this is not the type of game I would usually play.
Overall though, another impressive entry to the competition and I think you could go all the way. Well done!
What happens when Phasmaphobia meets Guess Who?
You get the Eidolist.
You didn't manage to get all the items in, but what you did felt cohesive and fit the overall theme of the game. Moving the lamps around was a nice little touch.
Each aspect of the game has a good level of polish, and I think you've done a great job of executing your idea for this rounds task. The art style was pretty, the audio fit the game and overall you ticked all the boxes. The game itself was easy to understand.
I think the only notes I have is it would maybe make things a little easier if you could check off what you had seen the different items do, which would make it easier to identify the ghosts, and maybe implement some kind of reward/punishment for guessing the ghosts incorrectly/correctly.
Still, an impressive entry. Well done!
That was a very clever interpretation of this rounds task, and you've done another fantastic job. Every time I play one of your submissions, there's a real style in terms of mechanics and overall flow of the game that shines through. I think you are one of the most under rated developers in the jam.
I think you included all of the items, or it was close enough either way. The genre you picked went hand in hand with the task and no complaints on that front. Sometimes they were a little silly, but that's part of the charm of your game.
The game itself was pretty polished, I didn't encounter any bugs. The art style was clean, and fit well with the games theme.
The audio was pretty clean, sounded very crispy!
The game was intuitive, I didn't need much of a tutorial to understand the mechanics.
Overall, fantastic job.
First game I've rated so far, and it was a banger!
The overall game loop is very addictive, I didn't want to stop playing until I'd beaten the first 10 waves. I carried on a little with the endless mode, but it seemed to be pretty much impossible to beat the score after a few waves.
I'm pretty sure you managed to get all the items in, and they fit cohesively together for me. Understanding some of the powerups was a little tricky, I couldn't really figure out what was best to upgrade. Eventually my strategy was to farm as much money as I could, and just buy everything. Seemed to work in the end. Obviously you had to fit in all the objects, and this probably detracted a little from the balancing of the game.
It was a very UI heavy game, which on the one hand looked very polished, but as someone mentioned in another comment, it detracted slightly from the game itself, because I couldn't see what I was aiming at vertically. I'm not sure how you could solve this, but it's not a big deal anyway.
The music fit the feel of the game, loved the bass line of the main theme. Sound effects were nice as well.
It did feel a little overwhelming to begin with, and some of the balancing aspects mentioned above (though not really your fault, given the task and the timeframe we had to make our submissions) didn't help. Overall though, the premise of the game itself was easy to understand, it just took a little time.
Can easily see this game making the top 5. You've done a phenomenal job each round of this competition, and this game continues to grow. Well done. You deserve make the finals, and I think you have a very good shot at doing so.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes that dog at the end of level two I knew was a bit dodgy from playtesting, it was one of those things I meant to get round to fixing but I just forgot about it in the mad rush to get everything finished. Hopefully didn't take away from the experience too much. That last wave of trolls at the end of level three is brutal, I died so many times myself haha.
Thanks for playing!
You are correct, the zombies are one shot for headshots. Had it not been for the task I think I would have stuck with that more and maybe built a point system on chaining together headshots. Definitely the best part of the game, that first level. What was wrong with level 3, if you don't mind saying? The difficulty or were you experiencing visual issues? Hope you enjoyed it!
