Nice game but had to try a few keys before I could start the game. Try to make buttons clickable and use more conventional buttons for interactions, continue eg.: e for interact

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be changing around control scheme options in future updates. Thank you for your suggestions and bringing it to my attention and thanks for the kind words!

Nice game. There were some parts where the interior of buildings didn't load correctly but other than that it was interesting.

Developer

Thank you I appreciate the sentiments. There's definitely some work left to be done! I spent a lot of time working on things that didn't get implemented, to the point that I didn't even stick colliders in the rooms. I definitely learned a lot though, and plan on continuing the game post-jam.

Nice feel. And then it stopped just as I wanted to know what the characters do next. Guess I'll have to follow this in case you finish it :)

Developer

Thanks I appreciate the kind sentiments! I'm definitely going to continue this project and some others in the same Nightmare World Adventure setting post-jam, so please look forward to it!

Hi, sorry maybe I am being silly but I can't start the game. I can select between start and quit but nothing happens with anything on keyboard or mouse.

Did you try "J"?

Cool game with an ok music and sometime funny dialogues, but one point of the game the collision detection was broken a bit, so I lost the level :D

The leveldesign was also excelent, and versitile.
Good job!

Come and rate my game too.
Have FUN :3

Thanks for the kind words and the feedback! Yeah, I spent hours and hours setting up the town collision to work properly and the town tiles to appear appropriately and then didn't end up spending any time adding collision to the rooms. The difference between my original intent and what I ended up finishing is a gaping hole, but one I intend on filling in after the jam is over.

The nostalgic JRPG vibe and engaging NPC dialogues were delightful. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves post-jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks I really appreciate the kind words! It was my first time creating a town scene so it feels good to have crossed that initial threshold and gotten the experience. I've got a few ideas for this particular world, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Great to see you back again this year!

I know you like NPC dialogue, yet I wasn't expecting an entire game of it. :D

It has that perfect old school JRPG feel to it, especially complimented with the music.

I'm guessing you plan to do more with this after the jam? You certainly hyped up the wagon duty enough!

Oh, also, in the starting house there aren't any colliders along the walls:

Thanks Satinel! Happy you're back too!

I originally was planning on multiple classic RPG-style town scenes and one or two wagon duty bullet-hell action scenes with unique controls with the intention of reducing that scope as I went along to only one action scene and one town scene. However, I ended up spending so much time figuring out the tools and building the systems up for the different types of scenes that I was only able to get some of the one town scene done. C'est la vie!

I'm totally planning on finishing this one after the jam is over though. I didn't even get to add one dog that says "bow wow" and another one that says "woof" when you interact with them yet!

I really liked the world design,  characters and the narrative you had going here. I did have some weird glitches with the interiors of some of the buildings where either the door would disappear one in one building I was able to kind of walk through it but it didn't load the interior. Great start though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! It's funny, I spent so many hours fussing over the collision and order of tiles in the town itself, and then I went and forgot to put colliders around the rooms! I'm definitely planning on coming back to this one after the jam ends.

haha its so easy to miss things like that on a deadline! I almost forgot to put in my asteroids before my final build as I had turned them off for testing!

great aesthetic and design!

somethings popped in/out of place, but otherwise it seemed well made.

good job

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! I'll check on the popping and see what I can fix.
