Always loved this kind of railway shooter game! Reminds me of old school arcades!
Nice!
This fondly reminded me of something I played as a kid. The music was perfect and the level design was great. I liked the concept a lot! I think some kind of indicator for when the player hits an enemy, maybe a particle effect or sound, would have been helpful. Great work!
I think the cinematic movement of the camera is pretty cool and the gameplay feels engaging and fun, nice job on the game!
Love this one! Great ambience, love the angles and the movement. Very fun. I found it a bit too hard to click fast enough on the enemies after the first few batches though. Just a suggestion, maybe add the possibility to keep the mouse as a pointer but allow a keyboard press to fire? Overall had fun, great little game, beautiful presentation.
I really like the name of the game I thought it was very apt. I don't think I've played an on rail shooter for a game jam I think it's such an unexplored genre in general. I enjoyed this game for that reason, I did think some of the smaller enemies moved a bit too fast and the place where they stopped made it difficult to shoot them once they arrived. But I enjoyed this submission otherwise :)
The title screen, ambience, and gameplay were all so nice!! I was hit with nostalgia right away when I started the game. I couldn't get far as I'm not that good at shooters, but I loved it nonetheless!
really smooth shooting mechanic. love the fire rate, it allows me spam shoot the enemies. aiming is also smooth. great assets and nice environment. great work. The AI is functional as well.
I love rail shooter, this was my favourite type of game at the arcades when I was a child~
I love the drone models <3
my screen turned red and then stayed red even when the game reloaded, was this intended?
Also, the drones can fly into the button corner of the screen and I cannot shoot them.
Great game and good work~
It was a fun experience, dunno when I last played a rail shooter.
It was a bit quick (enemies) from the beginning and the enemies close to the edges (when they were directly at you), were hard to hit (played in browser, so the edge for clicking out of the game was close).
Anyway, it was a small fun game. :)
It was a nice surprise to find a rail shooter, it's been a long time since I've played one. I love the visuals and overall aesthetic. My only issue was that sometimes the smaller enemies would get into a spot I couldn't shoot them but they could keep damaging me. Overall very cool submission, I had a lot of fun with it.
This was fun! Love the aesthetics. Reminded me a bit of Descent but without the open-world flying :)
I found that sometimes a little guy would get to the bottom right corner of the screen and I wouldn't be able to shoot them and they'd eventually kill me.
Oh wow, its been so long since I played a rail shooter. Awesome to see one again! I love the effect you use for the laser, well done!
Thanks for playing! Thanks for your comment on the laser, I really wanted to get the polish of a nice later and hit effect into the game.
I love shooters. Had fun! Nice entry!
Thanks for playing!
I miss rail shooters :( I just want more of them. I was able to finish it and get to freedom! had to aim with one hand and spam the fire button with my other haha
Awesome! Glad you managed to finish! Really appreciate you soldiering through with both hands lol. Yeah it was a throwback putting this together. Thanks for playing!
Some intense shooting! Sadly I couldn't get past the third section. Once the smaller, quicker enemies get into range to attack, they were sometimes impossible to hit, and could just peck me to death over time. It looks and sounds and plays nice aside from that! Auto-fire would have really helped me out, I think. :)
Thanks for playing! Yeah, there's some issues with hit detection sometimes when enemies get close that I didn't fully catch from play testing. I am glad you found it enjoyable despite some of the bugs!
I have horrible aim as usual, but cool game! The visuals are great, definitely gave off threatening vibes.
Haha, well thanks for playing! Glad it gave off threatening vibes, but hope you didn't feel too threatened!
In a good way! Menacing robots chasing you down kinda way ;P
Great work on the game, I had completely forgotten about rail shooters before playing this. Might have to try making on in the future. My only critique would be to increase the enemy stop distance from the player. It was a little difficult to shoot any of the smaller enemy's when they started attacking you. Otherwise great work!
Thanks for playing! Yeah it was fun to make, heavy use of AnimationPlayer, so got a lot of experience there I didn't have before. I agree on the stop distance, would've been an easy win before submission but had to call it and submit. Next time I just need to be done earlier in the jam.
I like the cinematic feel to the game. The speedy enemies are a bit too quick for me. Auto fire would be a great feature to add.
Thanks for playing! Glad you found it cinematic! Yeah with more time I would've liked to have had like that Time Crisis cover / reload system, but some kind of auto-fire would've been a quicker iteration.
Super fun rail-shooter, reminds me of days at the arcade
Those tanky ones that come in from the side hurt my finger after a while haha Great work! :)
Haha, thanks for playing. Sorry about your finger! It was challenging to find the right enemy balance.
Feels like an old-school light shooter, great stuff!
Great! That's what I was going for, so glad you think so! Thanks for playing! Really enjoyed your game btw, felt professional!
