This is such an adorable game, all the sounds effects really add to the overall charm of the game. I also really like the fact that you have to set and build the trap, it really adds to the tension of the game!

This was really fun and the pixel art is too cute!! Great work!
its so wholesome that you're spending quality time with your son, keep up the good work!
I loved the sound effects! Tell the voice actor that Olive Hill Studios and many others will be lining up to record, but I'm guessing there is already an exclusive contract in place 😆
Great work!
I played this for faaaar longer than I should have, so you've done something pretty great with gameplay there.
I enjoyed that the mechanic was simple yet quite diverse in how it could be used, especially since your own defences can hurt you, so you can't (or at least shouldn't) build just a giant death circle or stand in the middle of a cluster of traps.
I enjoyed that you leaned into your kid making the sound effects, it gives your game a charm that wouldn't be the same if you had "realistic sounding" sfx
Good job!
Congrats on your score ! I think I have to make the game a bit more difficult or a least make some gameplay variation because at some point you can stay in you trapped bunker waiting for zombie to walk on your traps. I was thinking of the fact that you have to repair traps or taht some enemies can throw something at you so that you can't just wait in your bunker...
The game is very fun , i like the build mechanics is very cool lol
Good. Like the thing with the trap, even the detail of that you can step on your own trap and should only go there in between resets of the trap. This is an interesting, unique concept, yet simple and effective. Everything looks and sounds really good as well with even attention to some kind of details I liked. Really nice job on it!
Simple, yet effective. Music slaps, i'd love to actually listen to it more, sound effects sold me so far honestly one of my favorites
Thanks a lot OverDeN! You can find the music here: https://ansimuz.itch.io/mystery-music-collection-pack-1
Omgosh.... 1) with your kids is adorable. I want to make a visual novel based off a story my daughter and I come up with 2) Omgosh, is that there voices for all the sound effects?! That's fricken adorable!!!!!!! Love it. How can I rank this low.... 5 stars. Great game! loved the kids participating.
Very good game I think it just needs more traps and I liked the sound effects the game is very good :)
Pretty neat and inventive! I like the movement animations for the player character, it's simple but full of character.
I had no idea my own traps were going to hit me as well, I was the first victim to them!
It's pretty tough (for me, at least) to kite the zombies over the traps, and grab the coins from them with the right timing. And, also, getting down more traps when they have to be built by hand. At my best I only managed to put three down before I got overwhelmed, but I might have been playing too impatiently.
This was an awesome game! Loved all the sound effects its kinda cool that while you're trapping zombies you also have to avoid the traps yourself, overall an amazing submission congrats :D
I freaking love this! The sound effects from your son are actually so well-implemented and funny, what a fantastic job! Love that your son drew the art too, what a wonderful project!!
This is a really cute project, very funny and it's awesome you made it as a father-son thing. I also really like the mechanics, sort of like tower defense but a lot more active. Nice work!
Thank you Cheyenne! I agree on the active tower defense thing. I did create tower defense games for years and that is the first time I mix the genre with a hero that can move and survive. I had great times making this with my son. He does not speak english as a 7 year old french kid but he tried anyway and his accent make me laugh a lot :) This was our first game together and we will make more for sure.
Thank you Ceribrox! Your game is very well made too, I love it, I let you a comment on your game page about my experience. I love the way you pass emotion with minimalistic graphics. I'm curious about how you made the red color affecting your blue hero sprite ? (lights? what engine did you use btw?)
This was all made in Godot! You can use a "PointLight2D" node set to the color red and attach it to what you need (In this case my enemies). From there, you can add a "canvas modulate" node in your main scene and set it to a dark color. After that, it's good to go! Thanks again for checking it out :)
Hahaha, this game made me laugh many times. I love the fact that is a family project.
I love the "building your traps as you escape" mechanic. This idea has potential if you could add more traps, more enemy types, and a strategic element like deciding where and when you should place certain traps.
The visuals are cute. The SFX are hilarious.
I feel the movement speed was too high to be able to control the player properly and dodge enemies.
Nice job!
So glad our game make you laugh :) I did a lot too making it, especially when implementing the audio SFX. I have plenty of ideas to develop the gameplay and I will work on it after the jam rating period ends. You're not the first one to tell me about the speed that is too high, I'll work on it too (someone ask me for a speed toggle between a walk and a run speed). if you have traps ideas, I'll be happy to ear them!
Brain decoy is a good idea. In the zombie wandering audio sfx list, there's a zombie that says "cerveaaaauuuuu" like a zombie. The word "cerveau" stands for "brain" in French haha. My son already drew a fireball sfx, but I think that is for another playable character that I couldn't integrate in the first iteration of the game :) Thanks for your ideas !
Really fun game. Loved the art and sound. Was fun to play but I died on my own traps trying to get my money.
