Nice game! the movement seems a little 'slippery' for me, overall is a nice game!

Developer

Thank you! I think the slippery feel is the sprite finishing the walk cycle. In my offline v2, I’ve tried to limit this, but it’s a limitation of the sprite animation cycle and/or my current skillset. I’m betting on the latter since I had to google ‘slippery’ feel. lol :-)

Cool game! Some nice level layouts and environments. I don't know if I was being dumb but was there a way to win after collecting all the scrolls? Anyway congrats on the submission 😎

Developer

Thank you! No, I ran out of time. It took me too long getting some of the incorporated features to work as expected. v2 will have the game over screens! :-)

Good submission! I really liked the art and thematics.

Thank you!

Cool game, I love the top-down idea but the only thing I was missing here was bow and arrows :)

Developer

Thank you! It might be cool to add an option to switch weapons! :-)

Great submission! Plenty of comments below me so it might of already been said, but one feedback for a later version is some type of feedback for when the player get hit, such as the sprite flashing red or something. Aside from that, great game!

Developer

Thank you! In my offline v2 copy, I’ve switched from the brief, but glitchy yellow/red to flashing so player damage is more obvious.

This is a great little game! It felt like a mix of pacman and zelda, which was really fun. When I first heard the music it felt like I was in a jungle, after 3 minutes of it the tune started to get stale. Maybe a different track for each area would help spice it up. The enemy spawning at the worst times would result in me dying, maybe it'd feel more fair if they came from holes in the walls instead of spawning on the path itself. The character did feel a bit slippery when trying to turn around quickly. I slid into enemy quite a few times and I died(which is fine thanks to the potions). Wish there was a victory screen, I ran around for 5 minutes before I came and read the comments haha. Overall this was great little game! Oh and the big coin was really nice touch.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! This is some great feedback! In v2, I will definitely incorporate these suggestions as well as have a victory screen. Blasted 10d GameJam limits, lol. I was excited about the coins because it was my first time creating a coin using blender so I added in the super coins. Someone also suggested a different noise for the super coins so I have that on my list too.

Nice job, I join the comment from Arswyd about the attack and the music.

But I think there is some good potential for your game.

Developer

Thank you!

Great game, good job! :) I liked the overall concept, but feel like the game is lacking some goal (eg. a boss appearing after collecting all the scroll or something). I had a little throuble with the attack, sideways it is much too large, while vertically it is pretty small. Also, it would be nice, if there was some feedback for the player when recieving damage. The music was too repetative for me, so it annoyed me a little and traversing to the other terrains felt a bit glitchy. However, nice entry for a game jam, keep on the good work! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and the feedback! The player does briefly turn yellow and red when taking damage, but it was quirky and probably too fast so I’ll make that more obvious in v2. I’d also had plans to build out the world a bit more, but I was up against the clock so more to come in v2. :-)

It was fun and I liked the music! Like the other people said, the colliders were a bit unfair.

And... no Win-Screen? Where did I have to go?

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and the feedback. I ran out of time before I could add a pause, win or lose screen. I do need to work on the colliders and adding some additional challenges.

A fun game to play. It reminded me of a lot of the old games like Garrison.

One thing that was unclear to me was how health really helps you. It seems anything you touch kills you. This could be made clearer. Also... the big coin should sound different than the small ones ;-)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I plan to incorporate and expand in v2. :-)

Nice game love the level design.

Developer

Thank you!

Nice music! that along with the art style took me back to the days of playing Jill of the Jungle :)

Developer

Thank you! Hopefully, my next game will be 3D and awesome, like yours. :-)

Cool idea. I would've liked there to be something more to being a ghost that just searching for a potion. Like maybe the reaper goes around trying to collect your soul. Or it's a race againt time to find a potion.

I also found the colliders a bit unforgiving. Such as the water killing me if my head touches it...even though technically my feet are the only thing on the floor and my head isnt touching the water. U could use two colliders, one thats just the feet and the other thats the entier body. (though idk what game engine u using sooo ye)

Other than that. Cool idea (noice)

Developer

Thank you for the suggestions to make the game better! I ran out of time before I could add any more features and challenges, but a reaper chasing when you’re a zombie ghost would be a fun addition. Also, a collision box around feet for water and maybe even gas vents is something that I’d like to incorporate since it makes sense for 2D physics. :-)

Cool, I like the idea :)

Thank you!

Nice game. Maybe check the size/placement of collision , I kept being stuck on walls even though it looked like there was enough room.

Developer

Thank you for that feedback! I’ve adjusted the collision points in v1.3.0.

Submitted(+1)

The music is bop. I can attack while being a ghost so not sure if that's intended. And pick up coins while attacking as a ghost.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for that glitch feedback! That was not intended and I’ve fixed it in v1.2.0. I’ve been digging my music too. That was my first time mixing my own music too! It’s almost cool when it gets stuck in my head after play testing. lol :-)

Submitted(+1)

One feedback that I would give is that the coin sound is too loud.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I’d thought that too and reduced it some, but not enough. I really appreciate the positive feedback.

Submitted(+1)

there is some trouble in player animation. i think every animation state has different pivot point. i hope you can fix it.  beside that game atmosphere is cool, congrats for submission

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and that suggestion! It was pivot points and I’ve fixed it uploading my bug fix v1.1.0. I’m still a rookie when it comes to game dev so I always appreciate useful feedback which helps me level up!

Submitted(+1)

Nice one! Keep on developing.

Developer

Thank you! I had a lot of fun and learned some new tricks making this one. :-)

Submitted(+1)

Very interesting, but the camera glitches every time I move :c

Developer

Thanks! Bug fix in offline v 1.1.0 to better align the sprite sheet.

Developer

After playing with the offline version, it seems that the collision box alignment is the cause.

Developer

Fixed with pivot points - v1.1.0 uploaded
