Nice mechanic of turning into a ghost instead of dying. Good game :)

Things I liked:
-I love that coins were everywhere and there was a point system
-I love how becoming a ghost allowed me to progress in a unique way or explore if I wanted to avoid a big fight
-I liked the different places to explore in the map (dungeon, cave, inner castle, grassy area)
-I like that if you did not move right away after getting a revive potion, you had a moment to plan out your actions as the enemies would stop
Things to improve
-for precise dodging of the enemies, the slippery controls became frustrating, especially if we have to dodge and move around them and traps. On that note, I do not think the hit box should be around the entire character model as it did not feel natural. I would get hit by water because my head passed through it and I would instantly die which was something I had to rewire in my head.
-No ending? I got all 11 scrolls, but nothing happened? If something did happen, giving player feedback and helping them move towards whatever did happen if it was in the world
-Limited spawns with the potions so when I got instantly killed by traps or water, it was scary and this game would be frustrating playing and getting 10 scrolls but running out of potions, so making some way to buy back a potion with coins or they regenerate over time.
Overall:
Fun game and I would love to see and play more- nostalgic and fun!
Great game, and I like that <space> is used for sword since movement is by arrow keys. Makes better sense than some games where parts are by mouse, and parts by keys.
Nice game! the movement seems a little 'slippery' for me, overall is a nice game!
Cool game! Some nice level layouts and environments. I don't know if I was being dumb but was there a way to win after collecting all the scrolls? Anyway congrats on the submission 😎
Cool game, I love the top-down idea but the only thing I was missing here was bow and arrows :)
Great submission! Plenty of comments below me so it might of already been said, but one feedback for a later version is some type of feedback for when the player get hit, such as the sprite flashing red or something. Aside from that, great game!
This is a great little game! It felt like a mix of pacman and zelda, which was really fun. When I first heard the music it felt like I was in a jungle, after 3 minutes of it the tune started to get stale. Maybe a different track for each area would help spice it up. The enemy spawning at the worst times would result in me dying, maybe it'd feel more fair if they came from holes in the walls instead of spawning on the path itself. The character did feel a bit slippery when trying to turn around quickly. I slid into enemy quite a few times and I died(which is fine thanks to the potions). Wish there was a victory screen, I ran around for 5 minutes before I came and read the comments haha. Overall this was great little game! Oh and the big coin was really nice touch.
Thank you! This is some great feedback! In v2, I will definitely incorporate these suggestions as well as have a victory screen. Blasted 10d GameJam limits, lol. I was excited about the coins because it was my first time creating a coin using blender so I added in the super coins. Someone also suggested a different noise for the super coins so I have that on my list too.
Nice job, I join the comment from Arswyd about the attack and the music.
But I think there is some good potential for your game.
Great game, good job! :) I liked the overall concept, but feel like the game is lacking some goal (eg. a boss appearing after collecting all the scroll or something). I had a little throuble with the attack, sideways it is much too large, while vertically it is pretty small. Also, it would be nice, if there was some feedback for the player when recieving damage. The music was too repetative for me, so it annoyed me a little and traversing to the other terrains felt a bit glitchy. However, nice entry for a game jam, keep on the good work! :)
It was fun and I liked the music! Like the other people said, the colliders were a bit unfair.
And... no Win-Screen? Where did I have to go?
A fun game to play. It reminded me of a lot of the old games like Garrison.
One thing that was unclear to me was how health really helps you. It seems anything you touch kills you. This could be made clearer. Also... the big coin should sound different than the small ones ;-)
Nice music! that along with the art style took me back to the days of playing Jill of the Jungle :)
