This is wonderful. Really impressed. A very fine intro. Great story and music. Would definitely want to play more of it.

You really nailed the oppresive atmosphere for the game. Ugh, the music and the posters were really scary!
There seems to be some bugs, like setting the alarms off made the nanny and bots ignore me altogether but actually not getting hit by the scanners made the nanny go straight after me, and the texts in the intro and in-game help disappear way too fast to my taste, but overall it’s a pretty charming horror game.
Some more polish and content could make this something really special.
Thank you for your reply! Yes, the Nanny ignore you if there is an alarm on, and only when arrives at the alarm zone goes after you. If the nanny sees you, it chases you. I have to change the priority in the AI tree, and it is on my list, but it is a very big change, and I don't know if it would be considered correcting a bug. I will change it when the game jam finishes.
About the velocity of the beginning, that was a very provisional screen. I didn't have time to make the animations that go there (and the ends), so they were replaced by it.
Thank you for playing!!
I really like the atmosphere and the backstory. You can see that this is a well-thought-out concept and feel the character of the whole.
Difficulty level is something to think about. It's a bit too difficult for me now (especially for jam conditions), but if that is the goal, then it has been fulfilled :)
Otherwise, I would recommend to tweak a bit settings like scanners speed, charging speed, door opening length, etc.
Very good game! :)
Good premise, I think you have the core idea of what you want to do - and the execution is pretty solid. Movement control also feels good.
What I think you can improve the most is polish, especially the UI - for me a lot of the smaller things made it hard for me to immerse myself in the game. To give you an example, the placement and the quality of the images, the lack of visual output for the gun, and the font all don't quite fit the rest of the assets (the robot and the environment setting- btw I think these game assets are pretty good).
Other than that, I really think you've put up something decent in terms of gameplay and game design. Good job!
Thank you for your review! You have pointed very good points!
Yes, all of those points are in my list of things to improve. I used the standard font of Unreal in the UI, and I wanted to make a "lighting bolt" type of output of the gun, but I didn't have time. Also, the beginning "presentation" will be changed to an animation, but first I have to learn to do that in Unreal...
I don't think I was getting the hang of this at all. I couldn't leave the first room without tripping alarms because the door didn't stay open long enough and if I went out into the hallway, I always got tagged by the sweeping scanner. That alarm noise was really obnoxious and there didn't seem to be any way to stop it or hide once you were detected. The controls felt fine, but the gun didn't have any feedback, so it was hard to tell if using it on something would do anything. The premise you set up with very unique, and the overall game has promise, but right now I think the difficulty and introduction to gameplay needs more polish.
I really like this game, took me a while to get the hang of and i like the fact that its quite hard. I left a bit of feedback while doing my play of it on my livestream but mainly I find the doors close too fast. I love the lore/story side of things like the little pictures in rooms with text on them. I think those little touches added so much to the game and the "Nanny" characters can become a whole series of characters throughout a universe like this. I really hope you continue with this and see where it takes you. If you make big updates i will keep an eye out.
Great game, I really was terrible at it but I loved the mood and had a great time with the many tries I did. My only suggestion would be to either make the charge time on a gun a little shorter or the time it takes the doors to close again a little longer. A few times I was trying to judge the pattern of the sensors in the hallways but the doors kept closing on me and by the time I reopened the door the sensor was long gone.
Either way, great submission and had tons of fun with it!
The graphic, music and the story is very good. I am a bit confuse on the firing mechanic. I charged full and release but nothing happen.
Anyway nice work.
Pretty awesome game. the theme was great and definitely a 5 star for mood. I enjoyed it a lot.
Great work.
Awesome game!
I tried like 3 times, and then I stopped because I still need to play 80 games I think. lol, but it's really good, I'll let it installed here to play some other time.
;)
Very creative use of theme! At first I was a little lost, it would be useful to have a map in the protagonist's room, but still the signs in the hallway helped a lot!
It has good suspense and was fun dodging the blue sensors. I'm not very good at the game yet but will try again. Huge amount of work for 2 weeks.
Great concept, the story reminds me the I Am Mother movie - which I really liked :) Execution is overall really good taking into consideration you did this also in two weeks. Well done!
I still need to come back to finish as I didn't succeed in 5-6 tries (probably I'm just tired to focus atm :D)
I really like the game! the graphics and the gameplay are really good and the polish and lighting are really great, it took me some time to understand what should i do at the start but i really like it.
Good job!
Really interesting game, I think it looked great and loved the overall concept!
The movement was a little slidy but overall handled pretty well.
Probably just me but with the amount of time to charge the gaurds always call the nanny before I can deactivite them meaning I always got locked into areas... maybe some more hiding places or quicker time for robots?
Otherwise great fun, played about 10 times but just couldn't get past those pesky bots!
Thank you for your comment!
Did you try to hide in some of the other students rooms? You can also shoot at the guard once he has caught you. It freezes it but doesn't unlock the areas. It was one thing to do, to shoot at the arcs to deactivate it, but I didn't have time to implement it. I will do it once the jam finishes.
Quite an interesting concept. Graphics need some improvement and gameplay mechanics need to be a little more accessible at the start. But it is a cool game, as far as it seems.
Unfortunatelly I'm defective and I had been recicled.
I loved your intro and how you implemented the text popups. Gonna play the next game in list but definitely coming back to finish this one.
