Simple and to the point, I like it! It sounds and plays great.

Things that can be improved: -Level design, I didn’t know where to go next each time I cleared a room. -Making Spawn points of enemies clearer.

Submitted

Very nice game with an awesome sci-fi vibe.  I found myself stumbling aroudn a lot not knowing where I should go, shooting wildly in a mad panic trying to avoid enemies as they take pot shots while I go back and forth across the rooms like a drunken lunatic who lost his map!  What must those robots be thinking?

Submitted

Fun game, looks good, plays well.

I think you should work on the AI more, so mobs don't get stuck in rooms.
Also not a fan of how the walls disappear for line of sight but its great that you are experimenting with that, maybe make them 50% transparent instead?

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

When I made the wall things I didn't like it either, but I was going simple because of the time (and I'm learning Unreal so I did it in a fast way), I've heard some of you talking about that wall problem and I think transparency would be greater for that.

Thanks again!

:)

Cool game, i love the twin stick shooter style games. Nice work and cool take on the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That means a lot to me

:D

One of the few sumbmissions until now I wanted to play just for the sake of playing. It's pretty and shooting robots is fun. A little more variety is missing, but a good job anyway :)

Developer

Thanks a lot man. I'm glad you liked it!

:D

Hey wow, I played it, beat it, found no bugs! Great job, this is a solid entry, and a unique twist on the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for taking a little of your time to play the game.

:)

An unsual take on the theme but I like it!

The game played well, it looked good and was fun.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!

I'm glad you liked.

Great top down shooter/maze runner! Had a blast with this, great submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing it

:D

I'm glad you liked!

Really liked the theme and the social commentary (which, sadly, I think is spot on).

I also liked the graphics and the furious battle at the end.

Good job with U4, I'm still learning Unity.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words and for playing the game!

Good luck with Unity it's an awesome engine, I have 2 games on Google Play made with Unity! I just wanted to learn Unreal, that's my first project (that's not a tutorial) and I think I'll stick with Unreal from now on.

haha, this was fun.

A couple of comments:

  • The crosshairs for our aiming should definitely be LARGER! With all what's going on in the screen it's too hard to see where we are aiming
  • The difficulty curve is a bit steep, too many robo-balls spawn too quickly I feel like straight away
  • Also a bit unfair that they spawn randomly near you and can kill you right away. They should spawn off screen or near the edge to simulate the effect of being alerted to your presence and coming to get you (from somewhere else - we don't care)
  • I agree with the comment about the 'vanishing' wall pieces so we can still see the character. I kept thinking I'm opening a door I'm supposed to walk through
  • Also... LOL I know everyone is supposed to interpret the theme freely as they see fit, but still... the adherence to the theme I felt was quite 'weak'

But anyway, good effort, I'm also a UE4 user and it was enjoyable to see what others could come up with using it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, that's some awesome feedback.

About the theme, I didn't want to use the literal gold on it, so I tried to put some nowdays addiction on the game.

But sadly my english is poor and couldn't express myself very well! lol

But I really appreciate that you take a little of your time to play it and your feedback. Thank again!

btw.

I already rated your game,  I kind of rated the unreal ones first because I'm learning Unreal and I wanted to see all the works, and I didn't write any comments because I didn't know what to say, haha, in general I liked the game but I didn't know what was going on, meteore falling and inffection... maybe that's because of my english skills. lol. sorry about that!

No worries. Yes, in my game you had to go to the infected mines (the bug fix version has the mini map that shows you where to go), and shoot some giant virus alien Covid balls - ha ha - and kill the infection. While infected, the mines "feed" infected minerals to the buildings and they don't operate well etc. Also gold gets infected and you cannot ship too much infection back to Earth etc. I admit there is a LOT going on in my game and it's hard to get it all quickly. So if you haven't played the updated version already and want to give it another shot, maybe this time it'll be better.

Regarding your game, yes no worries about the theme. It was still nice gameplay. All I meant is, if you wanted to be more 'faithful' to the theme, and show the theme more (even if you didn't take it literally - that's totally fine!) you could have some how "linked" the gameplay a bit. I understand the backstory... but maybe ... I don't know, you have to go in and actually find and save some imprisoned kids or something that are 'hypnotized' by smart phones and can't leave the building haha. Or something like that. Or or! you're chased by giant smart phones, that everyone thought was a good idea, but guess what: "not all that glistens is gold" ha ha. You know what I mean? Otherwise your theme interpretation (which is totally valid by the way) remains in the very background in your backstory before we play the game, and then we don't really see it, that's all ;)

Developer

Understood, awesome that makes a lot of sense and makes me feel a little better LOL

Submitted(+1)

Also, your English is just fine! ;)

The game is cool, only that I'm not fall of the "non visible walls" to let us see what is at the back. I think you need to find another solution for the issue you're trying to solve.

Anyway, the game is quite cool.

Developer

Totally agreed!

Thanks for playing it and for the feedback.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it, I appreciate it!

Quite cool shooter, there is some bug with the spawn of enemies but overall is good to play. it would really good to have also an option for change the volume. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing it!

I wanted to change the way I it spawns the robots but I was happy with the result for the Jam, about the bug... I saw that happening when I rushed through the rooms without cleaning the room up.

Thanks again!

A very fun shooter!!  I like the idea and the execution was polished!  I died fast a couple of times before I found my footing.  Good work!  A good game to expand once the game jam finishes.

Developer

Thank you for playing it.

I'm glad you liked, i was planing to continue the development after the jam, but actually, i have some other project in mind.

:D

Great work. I really appreciated the meaningful message you put out there and the theme and mood of the map was so cool. Also the character was pretty awesome. can't really complain about anything lol

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it.

It' a futurisc kind of game but with a touch of something that's happening nowdays.

Haha

Well done! I enjoyed shooting the robots and disabling the power.

Developer

Thanks a lot for taking a time to play it

A very simple twinstick shooter and super cleanly executed. The controls and firing feel great. I had a lot of fun running backwards and gunning and destroying generators while strafing bullets. I think the music might be a little too frantic? It's a little distracting, but still fits the theme.

Small thing that didn't detract from your score or gameplay - having someone double check or proofread your text can add a ton of quality to the game. Small spelling or grammar errors are easy to fix and make a big difference to a player's first impressions :)

Very well done. Definitely one of the most polished games I've played in the jam. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that means a lot!

English is not my natural language and I'm not so good with it lol!

But that's something I'll addopt for a new project I want to start (double, tripple... check the texts)

Thanks a lot for playing it and for the kind words!

Downloaded this game but i couldn't get it opened, am i missing a step?

Developer

That's awkward. If you're on windows you only need to download the zipped file, extract it to your computer and double click it.

:/

Submitted (1 edit)

On Windows

It downloads as a .rar file, not a zip.  Not sure what to do

Submitted

Well polished game with cool visuals and great gameplay! I died a lot imho but kept on playing it as I really wanted to beat it :D

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing it!

I think a boss fight in the end would be cooler right? lol

Submitted

That was alot of fun. Died alot but thats cos i dont play top down game so much so not used to using the cursor to shoot targets. But after a few tries i got used to it and them robots suffered a fate so terrible i cant desrcibe it here. Awesome fun game. Love it.

Developer(+1)

Awesome!

Thanks for playing it, it means a lot!!!
