Nice game.
What does the coins have to do with it?😅
That was my implementation of the theme lol.
Thanks for playing.
My wish for an improvement would be to be able to control the character's shooting direction with the right-hand side thumbstick on my PS3 controller, then it would totally be possible to play the game with it. As it is, everything else worked (movement, shooting, gold distraction), but if you can't direct your bullets, that's not enough.
(As for reloading, it does reload automatically, doesn't it? Adding a defined reload-button on the gamepad would be easy to do though, while adding the thumbstick for rotation...)
Sorry I didn't really plan on supporting controllers due to the time limit. just thought mouse and keyboard would be good enough. but I guess this would be more fun with a controller.
Thanks for the feedback.
Starting of really cool but then it was kind of repetitive.
I love the blood FX, it's really awesome.
Very good controls and the greed part where you lure the enemies away towards the coin!
Great job :) Well done!
Thank you for playing, glad you liked it.
Nice game, congrats. Had fun playing this one. I played it on my livestream tonight and liked it. If you wanted to see the replay you can below
Thanks for playing and streaming my game, I watched the replay, sorry for that bug in the end not letting you read the last message.
Great game. Enjoyed playing it. Got to a high score of 241. And btw, the intro was hilarious :D
Loved the change in tune, and the message displayed after you walk through that exit door. Deep and touching.
One thing that can be improved upon is probably the game music. I felt, it was a bit too peaceful for a zombie theme. But wasn't out of sync with the overall theme, considering the intro and the ending. Other than that, a really good game. 🙌
Glad you enjoyed the game. Thanks for your feedback.
Really good overall! The action becomes a bit repetitive after a while but it has the right duration for this not to be a problem. I don’t know if the graphics, sounds and other media are free assets or specifically made during the jam but good job either way, it looks and sounds great!
By the way, I chuckled at the introduction text. 100% real and accurate! Maybe you could add that people hoarded toilet paper for some reason.
Ok, take care!
I used free assets in this game.
glad you enjoyed, thanks for your feedback.
Very cool take on this game genre! It was easy to control your character, the rate of fire felt good, the time it takes to reload was right on, as was the zombies' speed. The whole "toss down a piece of gold to distract them" mechanic was a nice touch.
There are two things I'd like to see in an update. Turn the music down a bit so I can hear the sound effects better, and work on the window sprites a bit. It took me a second to realize those were windows and that I could shoot through them.
Again, these are just nitpicky minor issues. Great job!
Thanks for playing. I will definitely take on your suggestions when I start to do a remake of this game.
Thanks for the feedback.
Good stuff. I was confused at first and reloaded the game so I could read the instructions again because I didn't understand you could shoot through windows. Once I figured it out though, this was super fun. I like the mechanic of throwing down the coins. Adds some cool flavor. Nicely done. :)
Glad you liked it, Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
Neat game. I was a bit surprised of how long before the zombies break down the barriers. Would be nice to get some visual on the damage progress (different sprites, a health bar, etc) when it comes to the barracades.
That's actually on my to do list after the jam ends lol, thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing.
I really, really enjoyed this. Quite confused at first, especially as why the exit was blocked and what exactly I should do (until I realized I could shoot them through the window). But this game would feel right at home on an arcade cabinet . The art style is cohesive and stands out and I loved the music! Well done!
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
Took my time but now I finally played it. What can I say? Awesome! I really liked the social commentary (now I regret that we didn't add something like this ourselves) and the music (not a fan of electronic music in general but I think that this theme would sound great if played by a rock band).
Keep up the good work
Thanks for your Awesome comment!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game and got through the ending. and I will definitely add some rock music and various songs to match the different levels I plan to make when I start to expand this game ;)
Thanks for playing ^.^
I had fun blasting zombies! The distraction mechanic worked nicely
very nice shooter! very impressive for 2 weeks!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for playing.
Nice one, this is the best of the action games I've played so far. I'm a huge fan of top down Robotron / Smash TV type shooters.
I got to level 7 before my circle strafing all went a bit pear-shaped. Loved the zombies wandering off and leaving you to go for a walk and reflect on what you've done. Top notch stuff :) Maybe throw in another song or two, the main theme is cool, but I think I heard it loop perhaps a couple of times too many.
Wow Thanks a lot!!, I'm really glad you liked it, thanks for your supportive words.
And about the song you are right, the music actually was added the last minute and I didn't put much thought into it. but when I start to do the rework of the game(after the gamejam ends) I will definitely add more music.
"Reloading"...
Great little game, on brief... I think I won as I got out the exit??
Played well, liked the throw the gold mechanic.
Solid little game.
Yes you did win and you saved your soul ;)
And the "Reloading" was my own voice lol,
Thanks for your kind words and thanks for playing.
Giving Hotline Miami a run for their money.
Lmao. Thanks for playing and for the funny comment.
Solid game and nice art/animation! Movement felt good and gun also felt nice to shoot with. Just need to add more content e.g. more levels/enemies and weapon types, and it will be great!
Also the mood I'm getting is more of an adventure vibe with the song+visuals, instead of survival (I'm not sure which one you intended it to be)- but that's just my opinion. Good job!
Thanks, I will definitely create more content for this when I start expanding the project after the gamejam.
And you are absolutely right about the mood it's not survival. it's kind of a mix of both. due to the ending I planned, beside the survival vibe I wanted an adventure vibe too
Thanks for playing.
This game looks really nice, well done with the graphics. I really like how crisp the animations are! Are these premade assets or did you throw this together during the jam? Well done! The movement felt good, maybe a tiny bit slow? I gave up after round 4 just because it all got a little repetitive. With a little more polish, this would be a pretty complete experience. Good job!
You gave up too soon mate, after round 6 it gets crazy and after 10 total mayhem lol. But nevertheless a big thank you for playing and giving feedback.
I'm actually thinking about doing a whole rework of the game and turn this into a co op game made with my own art assets.
and here is the link to the assets I used in case you want them:
https://free-game-assets.itch.io/free-tds-tilesets-buildings-and-furniture
https://opengameart.org/content/animated-top-down-survivor-player

What I did was changing the shirt color of the zombie to make a stronger and faster type of enemy lol (blood zombies as I like to call them lol).
Ahhh, premade assets. You should put asset credits in your game page description. I thought you made them otherwise :P
I actually did put them on the credits page in the game menu.
My bad! I didn't go back to the main menu after playing! Thanks for letting me know :)
My pleasure mate, Thanks for caring.
"Reload!" It remembered me "The house of dead" that I played in the Arcade when I was a teen. The phrase was the same with the same type of voice! Good work!!
Lool thanks for playing Munsa. and believe it or not that is my voice.
You get 5 stars for mood. However clever we think we are, sometimes we have to be reminded of what is important. Yes there were bugs, but I don't care. The visuals were excellent, the music worked and the game is memorable. Thanks :)
Thanks for your kind word, I'm glad you approved of the message .
And yea there are some bugs but I mainly focused on bugs that break the game and mess up the experience but I will do a rework on this project after the jam and this time it's gonna be way better.
Thanks for playing.
A cool top down shooter! The punchline "at the end" of the game was great :D
Thanks, Glad you liked it ^.^
