Creepy game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the Dungeon Crawler Jam.
Always cool to see an extraction looter. I had a bit of trouble with the controls but nothing I couldn't adjust for and get used to. Overall this is a very solid entry.
I’ve never played REPO, but I imagine that could have been an inspiration. The game was cool and I enjoyed playing it though it and circumstances caused problems for me. Couldn’t use the windows version because window was too small and it crashed trying to get my cursor back and my entire computer hard crashed when playing the web version the first time. That was probably a circumstance though.
The core loop was very nice, hearing heartbeats to indicate distance to monster and then being distracted by collecting all the things. I really really didn’t like the keybinding for taking and inventory. I don’t think inventory served any purpose other than being annoying and making me have to let go of the mouse to close it. A little message saying what I picked up and its worth right above to stolen total would have been much nicer.
The little red dot seemed quite bugged too, staying red after grabbing stuff.
It took me a death to also understand the mini-game if caught. I think the problem there in part was that the dot is so very small and you have those big red things stealing all attention that it’s very hard to notice that the dot changes color. And it is quite a problem dying like that in this type of game and having to start over, so I think a clearer dot in the mini-game that also changes shape when over the target would have been good.
After I ended my run and went back to just to fight I figured it out and then it became very understandable.
I would probably have stayed collecting more stuff if it wasn’t for the fact that I had already played once before the game crashed. And that my only prior getting caught by the monster left me feeling like I didn’t understand the mini-game.
But other that these things, I really enjoyed playing and grabbing the loot.

That was very fun!
The door transitions were great. Vintage survival horror technique.
And I had fun going for a loot, even if the controls for collecting things are a bit awkward.
(Like, I don't think the inventory had to pop open every time I collected something, and it was a minor pain to close it. Also, sometimes the retical would get stuck on red for whatever reason.)
Only thing it's desperately missing is some spooky sound design.
Hey JD Nation, thank you for Entering the Mansion and your kind words, great to hear you had fun with it!
And yes, you’re absolutely right about the Inventory, it’s kind of awkward that it opens and stops the game play, that was a last minute addition and not very thought out :P - I thing retical or the logic behind sometimes does not notice if something gets out of focus .. thus staying red :/
And yes, it absolutely needs more sounds as that’s the one big thing missing, besides more content ;)
Thank you so much for playing and your feedback!
Nice game that has a good atmosphere and designs to it, was good exploring and trying to find the item. The doll was creepy in game, was a good part of it and having the heartbeat worked well and made it feel more creepy. The door animation was very nice and the head bobbing as I walked made it feel much better.
Pressing T then made the game harder to play, it threw me off a few times. I think it would just be better not to have inventory open up at all on pick up items as that felt unneeded and instead got in the way of the gameplay. I am not sure if it was a bug but i could win the combat at all. I shot where the targets were but it did nothing at all.
Overall a good game with a very nice atmosphere, enjoy the feel of it a lot.
Hey Clockwork Chaos, thank you for Entering the Mansion and your valuable feedback!
You’re absolutely right about the Inventory and the pickup logic. Other players also mentioned that it threw them of as it breaks immersion.. so yeah that was a late addition and it wasn’t thought out very well. I guess not opening the inventory and just show a text that something was picked up would be better. The idea behind it was that we wanted to add some kind of Tetris like inventory mini-game but that fell flat because of not enough time at the end :/
Well the range combat idea is to shoot the stagger zones that are marked with the red cross and if you hit enough of them, like around 4 times, she would shoo away and you would have some breathing room to move away. At least that was the thinking of it, wondering what happened to your game session there..
Anyways, big thanks for giving it a try and your feedback. Much appreciated!
I enjoyed the atmosphere and some of the ideas. The rain of loot on the end screen is particularly funny, I really like it. The door opening animation is nice too.
I like the atmosphere and the concept of exploring the mansion to collect loot. On the other hand, I found the controls rather cumbersome. It would be smoother with “Pickup Item” mapped on something like SPACE or Left Mouse, and without opening the inventory each time you pick an item.
I encountered a bug: at one point I was attacked while opening a door, it launched a fight but returned to standard gameplay before the fight occur, and then input (move, free-Aim, ...) no longer work .
Hey Lucky Laszlo thank you for Entering the Mansion! It’s great to hear that you enjoyed your time with it and particular liked the Winning Screen ;)
As other mentioned also, the item pickup is particular awkward and annoying and breaks the immersion… it was a late addition and we didn’t thought it through enough :/
The bug you mentioned another player had also.. it seems like we didn’t prevent the player from entering while transition between rooms.. that was an oversight :p
Anyways, thank you for playing and your valuable feedback. Much appreciated!
Really cool 3d assets and nice job creating the setting.
Thank you Ernesto for Entering the Mansion and your kind words!
We uses some quality PSX assets from itch.io content creators. So all credits goes to them regarding those assets! :)
This was a quick and fun game to play through. I loved the atmosphere and graphics. I think it would've benefited from some onscreen control tooltips. I got stuck for a bit since I didn't remember all of the controls from the itch page. Good job!
Thank’s WretchedLink for Entering the Mansion! :)
Yeah there is a Settings Screen with all the Controls on it and it is available when you press F1 but it’s not visible as it was before… it is still active and reachable via F1, also mouse sensitivity, but the Info that there is a Settings menu is unfortunately hidden through a bug introduced right before release… :/
I had a good time with this game. I would have loved to see all of the improvements you mention on the jam page but, it was solid none the less! Great work.

Thank you so much Captain Coder for Entering the Mansion and also playing it live on Twitch and putting your playthrough on Youtube… that’s really awesome!
Love the overall vibe here and the door transitions are chef’s kiss! Really enjoyed the mini combat game, it was a nice touch that required a little skill rather than just randomly shooting. Great job!
Thank you Occular Malice for Entering the Mansion and your kind feedback! Much appreciated!
Nice, scary atmosphere! Ms Trixie looks scary as hell and dances like a champ!
Thank you Humane Tiger for Entering the Mansion and the kind words!
She does dance like a champ and indeed looks creepy as hell ;)
This was actually a lot of fun. It had a great creepy atmosphere with the static screen, the darkness and ominous heartbeats. It took me a bit to figure out how to grab items, but once I did was able to get through with some big $ values. The resident evil door opening was a nice touch as well. Combat was basic, but still a good deviation from standard crawler bump combat or something along those lines. Your hoard of treasures falling from the sky in a pile was a nice touch as well.
A few bugs, I think I had multiple TV's somehow in my inventory at one point and I kept dropping them and losing money value, going into the negative, which also carried over into the next playthrough. The inventory opening up every time you grabbed a item was a bit confusing too, as it stopped movement etc so it took some time to get used to.
Gameplay starts at 32m mark
Thank you BonedudeGameStudios for Entering the Mansion!
Yeah I really wanted to have these Door transitions as I really liked them in Resident Evil ;) And you’re right, the Range Combat is quite basic dude to limited time we couldn’t expand on it as we also wanted to add close range / melee combat where the Monster jumps on you and you had to defend yourselves through smashing some buttons like in a mortal combat game :)
And yes, the Inventory is also quite basic and has a couple issues, one is like you said that it opens up and breaks the game flow. We initially wanted to add some kind of Inventory management / Tetris game, where you had to place the items best fitting into the Inventory as they would have different sizes / shapes and it would be like a little Tetris inventory mini game all while you’re being hunted … but die time constraint also screwed us over here :P
Big thanks for recording and putting it on youtube!
I got $2025 worth of things during my last run. I also managed to trigger a fight in the same time as the ending sequence during this one, fighting with the ending text on the screen.
The game is hilarious, I like that the paintings are worth nothing (some are worth negative value?), and the ending with the items getting thrown is great. It also plays pretty well, both movement and combat.
Hey CryptRat thank you for Entering the Mansion! ;)
That’s a lot of $$ you’ve got out there, and yeah it was on purpose that some of the Paintings have negative value ;)
Triggering combat and ending both at the same time is definitely a bug. The enemy shouldn’t get a hold of one while leaving :P
Thank you for playing!
Good Eerie Atmosphere. The game looks nice. UI and handling objects are a bit clunky. Pressing T and I repeatedly is cumbersome. Nice animation when entering doors. The combat scene is a bit strange to handle and not clear if you hit or not when shooting.
I did make it out with 2k max.
Nice Entry!
Thank you wolfheat for Entering the Mansion!
Yes, I agree the Inventory UI is kind of clunky. We used a Godot Addon for it and hat trouble getting it were we wanted it and time was not on our side :P
You’re right about the range combat. There is no visual feedback if you hit one of the stagger zones, except the zone will be removed immediately but that’s not to obvious. We hadn’t had enough time to polish at the end, otherwise we would have added some sounds and particle effects which would made it more clear :)
2k is quite nice!
Thank you for playing!
Atmospheric and scary! (I scare easily lol).
Nice art style and snappy movement which I like. Nice touch with the door opening sequence.
Well done :)
Thank you zooperdan for Entering the Mansion!
I hope it wasn’t to scary ;) And yeah we really wanted to try out the Door transition and it came out quite well!
Thank you for playing!
For reference I tested the Linux version.
I liked the art style and overall setting of the game. The movement feels fast and snappy. The combat/repell mechanic is interessting. The pickup/collect is nice too.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Lutz for Entering the Mansion! :)
I don't really like this kind of haunting games, but art style and battle mechanics is really interesting.
Thank you Evgeni for giving the the game a try even though you have a dislike for such games! :)
Really great vibe overall. Post-processed crunchiness and that PSX vibe with only a flashlight. Really liked how you managed to create tension with simplicity
Thank you epiq_phale for Entering the Mansion!
Well we did want to add a “real” Flashlight model and some swaying but the time… but the lightning seems to suffice quite well.
Thank you for the kind words and playing! :)
