The pixel art was really well done! I really loved how the world was slowly being consumed it really gave a sense of urgency! I think the whole idea of being poisoned by the entity is really cool and how it messes with your controllers. The sound was also used effectively with the music overall really good!

Note:

Some suggestions that I think would elevate the game. Add a reset button where the player maybe decides to end his run and start again that way he can go back and find more clues.

Another way that this could be achieved is by adding a mechanic so that when he's outside of the influence of the entity he regenerates and doesn't die, that way the player can strategize a bit better.

And maybe add an item that can give the player a longer duration of time inside the entity is territory.

Overall, really cool ideas!

The art and the music were certainly a highlight. While I'm not a big fan of timed games, I do think it works pretty well here. You generally have enough time to find one or two clues for your next run after getting cursed, plus technically getting to decide when you start the curse, is a very cool decision for the player.

Nice work!

A very cool short game! I love the graphic style and how well thought out the level is, leaving just enough space to move around and activate the stones. As others have said the movement can be a bit frustrating, but that's not a bad thing, on the contrary, it encourages you to try harder to finish the whole thing!

really awesome concept, the stone stuff wasn't really clear at the start but once i understood it was really cool

Very frustrating but in a good way. Great concept. Just initially had trouble figuring out that the stones are not on/off.

I really like the controls being all messed up when you are dealing with the effects of the cosmic horror.

I liked the pixel art and music a lot, and it was a cool setting to see a cosmic horror set in! I did like the concept of the black tears messing with your movement like you got possessed but it could be frustrating at times. Maybe if there was more time given to the player to do the tasks when you end up getting possessed that could help. The idea was fun though because it reminded me of Earthbound's controls when you get hit by mushrooms.

Thank you. I always wanted to try a cozy looking game with darker concept.  I agree it should be a longer curse time, that way the player can get to at least 2 books in a run.

It looks nice, I am a bit annoyed by the controls getting swapped when the eldritch horror touches you, but once I take a breath and calm down about it I can't wait to see what the rest of the game looks like. I gave it a pretty decent rating based on what I saw so far, but the control swap is REALLY bothersome.

Developer

Haha thanks, I should have tagged it as a rage game too. I tried working with the dizzy theme but it went too far I guess.

Good concept with nice visuals and audio. The black tears give the game an original feel. Nice work.

Developer

Thank you. Glad you liked it.

this is really good! My only very mild problem is the hitboxes when traversing, I found myself getting caught on rocks and stuff when I wasn't expecting to. Otherwise, it's great and kept me playing all the way through! The music is perfect also!

Developer

Thanks for playing. I agree with the hitboxes. I messed up my layers so I over corrected to hide the layer issues.

Great balance of challenge without the frustration. Music well done too!
