Cosmic Horrors Jam IV is a two-week jam where you make a cosmic horror themed video game or physical game. If you don't know what Cosmic Horror (sometimes known as Lovecraftian Horror) is exactly, put simply it is a horror sub-genre that as  Wikipedia  puts it: that emphasizes the horror of the unknowable and incomprehensible more than gore or other elements of shock. A sub-genre that emphasizes themes of cosmic dread, forbidden and dangerous knowledge, madness, non-human influences on humanity, religion and superstition, fate and inevitability, and the risks associated with scientific discoveries. 

Your game can be any genre, made in any engine, for any platform (though making it playable on PC is preferable so that it can be shown on the live stream) the only fundamental rule is that it should be a part of the cosmic horror genre. Make a classical Lovecraftian mystery, an Elder Thing virtual pet, an insanity simulator. The possibilities are endless! Just remember that your Cosmic Horror creations can be solely original you don't need to use the creations of the Cthulhu mythos or other Cosmic Horror writers (Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard, etc.).

The optional secondary themes do not influence the final voting in any form. They are just a fun extra for those who want to use them. The only core theme is that the game is in the cosmic horror genre.

 - Make your game free so everyone can vote on it. You can charge for it after the voting period if you desire to do so.

- Do not submit spam entries that have nothing to do with the jam, they will be removed and your project will be reported. This includes generic horror games, this jam is strictly for cosmic / edritch horror games.

- Make your project within the jam's timeframe.   

- Be respectful, if your game contains 18+ content please make a note of it on the game page.

- You can work in a team if you desire to do so.

- Any engine is allowed.

- Please do not submit any projects made outside of the jam. This jam is just for Cosmic Horrors Jam IV entries.

- Assets not made yourself are allowed, but please credit the original creator and ensure that they have been properly acquired. Do not use stolen assets!

- Do not use copyrighted material!

- Do not use AI generated assets!

- State if your game is a video game or a physical game.

- Please understand it might be difficult for tabletop/physical games to be presented in the livestream.

- Please review the submission feed properly when you come to submit your entry. Answer the questions appropriately and maturely.
