When transitioning between levels, please stay still, it has some weird outcomes if you move, it doesn’t happen often but to be on the safe side, don’t move. Thank you for clicking on our game! - The game is played best with your monitor’s brightness turned up!

The narration was good, but I couldn't figure out what to do in the room outside of the starting room. It would be nice if the flashlight remained at full brightness and then start to blink when you reach 10%. Currently it's very hard to see when the battery gets to like 50%. It also seemed like there were a couple of batteries looked at one corner of the room and none in the rest of the room. Perhaps you can also add some ambience.

Developer

Thanks for playing, there are 4 bits of paper to pick up one is in a drawer next to the bookshelf to get you started and then you should be able to open the safe when all 4 are collected- would be appreciated if you could rate it again once you have gotten further as a lot more content comes later on, thank you for the feedback!

It's always nice to see people do something really bold like a 3D horror game in a game jam, and pull off a creepy vibe is very important and your entry achieves this perfectly. Very alright in my book!

I got way too panicky when it was about to go dark. Maybe allow storing batteries so you can change the battery when you need rather than as soon as you pick it up. The movement speed could be increased just a little too. Overall, I had fun playing it. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for the kind comments, that would be a cool system picking up batteries to store them, hadn’t thought of that :), thanks for the feedback!

Hey, I liked the idea, a bit hard for me, I ran in circle in the main room as I'm so bad at escape rooms. Anyway, I think with a wider FOV on the camera it would feel better, I felt like I could only see right in front of me x)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, the camera being small was for the purpose of horror and claustrophobia, but you are right it did need quite a lot of adjusting!

Dude, you really made allot of stuff men. Spectators with such level of detail. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback and kind comments!

Rated - I'm bad at escape rooms, IRL and in game haha.  This was cool, with some polish and camera adjustments I think people who like the genre will really like it!  Please check out my game if you have time~ Good day!

Developer

Thanks for the kind comments, and you are right: the camera did need some tweaking! Thanks for the feedback!

Good approach and 3D in a game jam is always challenging.

The camera sensitivity is way off, and everything is so zoomed in that it makes the issue worse. i do find that the lights going down at the same rate as the battery means you don't actually have 30 seconds to find another one because you can't see anything well before the point of actually losing to the darkness. The bedroom layoutis just bizarre, having the sofa stick out right next to the door then a big blank space with the pin board is very strage. I clipped through things a lot. Also the music did not play the first 2 times I plaed. The music only started when I went into the settings and back out even though music was selected as 'on'.

Unfortunately I found numbers on walls etc but I was unable to find all 4 pieces of paper, I only found 3 so I didn't progress after the first room. (table, coat stand, shelves)

So sorry you had some bad experiences with our game, so your rating can be more rounded we would love for you to play it again and try to finish it- also here’s a tip: you can look in some drawers and that might be where one piece is... thanks for the feedback!

(+1)

I did look in all the drawers but only found 1 battery. If there is suppose to be paper in there then I will try again. The fact that the drawers close so quickly and don't stay open also makes things hard. I was actually enjoying the game so I will try it again.

Interesting play of "escape-the-room" style! Did you intentionally slow down the player movement and decrease the camera FOV to give the feeling of claustrophobia? If yes, good direction, 10-20% more cam FOV though... I'd advise the spotlight's intensity to shrink slower towards the end (meaning: if battery100% = intensity 100%, battery 30% = intensity 50%, battery 10% = intensity 25%) because it gets really dark when you're down below 30% and can't find your way so easily around.

Developer(+1)

FOV was not intentionally but speed yes and the low intensity stuff was made to put pressure on the player ... thanks for your feedback
