Really cool game

First, a rant.

Maybe the random button was too random. It is a very neat concept but when the D key or Space key was disabled for 3-4 times in a row it went from challenging to frustrating, especially during the boss battle. I was able to avoid some damage, but it quickly became impossible when my Space key was disabled for many turns.

Rant over. If your goal was to frustrate, well done. It certainty sparked and emotion. :D

I liked the boss and I did like the restrictions that disabling the controls put on me, but having more options (and possibly not continually restricting the same key over and over again) would have made this game much better.

I can see the potential in this one.

Edit: One more thing! I also liked the mechanic of when getting damaged your character popped in the air which made it so if Space was disabled, you could sacrifice some life to pull off a huge jump.

I loved the idea behind it, and the humour from the characters. Very pleasant game from a visual and auditory point of view, too.

However, I think the main mechanic of removing options from the player, while it's a great idea to explore, makes the game too frustrating. Most of the time I ended up just waiting for my A key to be chosen at random, and when the boss started shooting it sometimes ended in a really unfair situation where I got shot and had no options to escape.

Great ideas and executions despite that small detail, though!

Good game, i loved the portal vibe and the disabling of keys was a creative twist. I just think it need a little redesign instead of just a random key because it's not fun to just wait for 30 seconds on a platform waiting for rng to keep going. Other than that i think it's a good and fun game :D

Pretty creative, and I really liked the characterisation :)

I do wonder if there’s a way of give the player some agency against the keys being removed. I had a section where it disabled space four three times in a row and all I could do was just stand there (it was even worse when it started shooting!).

Maybe extending the mechanic so that you can always move, but jump (or a new dash, etc.) gets stuck on/off as well? So there’s always something the player can do.

Ah man this game is HARD, but I really want to beat it 'cos that :] is taunting me and I neeed my revenge haha! I love the mechanic, but I feel if you could have total control back every now and again it would give the player more to do, I spend a lot of time waiting for the D & Space so I could move forward, or getting trapped on a pillar. I was hoping I could cheat with the cursor keys but I couldn't haha! I really love the character of this game though, and I'm so desperate to beat it. I'm gonna keep coming back to it until I do dammiiiiiiit

for a 2d platformer the game is very good!

Hillarious GM character. Loved the main mechanic!

I also had the problem of sometimes having to just stand and wait, since the keys you need most of the time are Right and Jump. I did like that the game taunts you when you get hurt! Nice work.

Good initial concept to take away moves from the player, but it just ended up with me standing and waiting to get back the spacebar and my right arrow key so that i could make the next jump... It would probably be better if the randomness were toned down a bit so that maybe the keys are turned off in a specific sequence and you have to plan your moves accordingly so that you can still complete the challenges even with a certain key gone. As of now, all it does is make the player wait for the right combo of usable keys.

Again, I really liked the concept, but thought it could be a bit more refined! Nice job with the game :)
