Love the bullet patterns, it would really help to have some way to recharge the timer (like graze recharges it) and also little more space to graze since sometimes trying to graze gets me killed (helps people new to these types of games) Great work though, definitely bullet helly xD
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm glad you liked the bullet patterns! :D
Yeeeesss!!! I was hoping to see some bullet grazing mechanics! This is such a good idea too! I loved building up my power, waiting for the right moment to unleash my upgraded attack. It made things very tense! Audio and visual was all really nice as well. My main critique is that the boss seemed to have way to much health. And running out of the ten seconds left you without any options. And maybe an exit button would be nice :) But other then that this entry is another highlight for me. Well done!
There wasn't really any time left to make some UI stuff like an exit button and a "proper" pause menu, maybe I'll make a post jam version with them.
The boss had a lot of health due to encouraging grazing and lack of time polishing...
I'm glad you liked this idea and the game! :)
Interesting idea. But it's a bit hard to do anything after you run out of your 10s.
Also boss doesn't seem to be taking damage (or it's just the health bar not updating)? And mouse controls are a bit weird.
Not that the boss isn't taking damage, it's your ship that isn't powerful enough to take it down quickly.
a really neat little concept! Great use of the theme, it really encourages a different play style. This is a stressful game, I love it ;) I'm not very good, but I can appreciate it without having to beat it xD
I think the art was really effective, the audio worked well and the actual gameplay had a lot of depth with a really simple mechanic. Also - you managed to get a LOT of bullets on-screen with no performance hit, which definitely can't be said about many other games!
I think the only thing I'd complain about is that you're using some sort of weirdo self-extracting zip that doesn't work very well at all. Not sure why you'd do it that way, just a normal zip is all you need xD
I appreciate you enjoyed the game even when you're not very good at it, I can relate 100% (I'm looking at ya, Bullet Hell Monday XD)
Thanks for the feedback on the art, audio and gameplay, plenty of thought was put into that. I think the many bullets on screen can be because I didn't update the rigidbodies of the bullets, I moved their transforms directly instead and, for some reason, updating them in the built-in Update() didn't cause any performance issues.
I thought the self-extracting .zip would be easier to work with, it ended up being much more frustrating than I could predict XD
Thanks again!
wait you had that many bullets on screen and they all had rigidbodies?! Nuh uh I'm not having that. I've struggled with performance on some computers and I don't even use gameobjects xD
Yes, here are the bullet prefabs:
And the Physics 2D settings:
Commenting again to finally give ur feedback, lool. Cool idea, some consumable item or something like this would be pretty nice to restore the 10s. After this time, there's nothing to do :x. Anyways, cool game, nicejob!
Finally, thank you :)
I had trouble playing as well, the itch.io client just straight up rejects it if you try to use it on there, had to go into the files and extract into a sub folder, which was fine, just kind of frustrating.
Fun game though, graze mechanic is super fun, and very challenging!
I'm glad you like it!
Does that happen every single time?
Try extracting to an empty folder on the desktop.
now it's working, really cool idea for upgrading your ship risking your self to get hit, the only probleam that i found was that when i respawned, i instantly got shoot without having time to move, but besides that, great game and great work!
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it! :)
This game has a really cool style and great sounds. I think having some way to regain time would make this game feel more fair as currently if you run out of time you're just sort of stuck there unable to fight back. Having to fly close to the projectiles to upgrade your ship is a fun risk/reward mechanic. Overall this game is an enjoyable experience, good work!
Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
For some reason it's not working on my computer, sorry :x
What do you mean? It just doesn't open? What happens?
When i extract doesn't come with the exe file for some reason
You might be extracting to the same folder where the extractor is located. Try extracting it to another folder, like an empty one on your desktop.
Interesting concept, though having your ship constantly power down as you shoot is a little rough, since you already power down when you die. Iโd prefer if you could control your ship with a keyboard or gamepad rather than clicking and dragging with the mouse.
I made it so that it could DIScourage mindless shooting and reward grazing and precision, since grazing is used a lot as a score boosting tool and not as a direct gameplay mechanic modifier.
The way the ship is controlled with the mouse is just because of that, more precision and control, I know a "slow down" button on the keyboard would work, but how would a "fast motion" button work?
Thanks for the feedback! :)
