Very good play! I felt like maybe the shield should be rechargeable in some way, because otherwise you're almost forced to take laser damage, which felt a little punishing. Also, sometimes it felt like the aiming was inconsistent. I had a lot of fun though!

I really enjoyed this game! You do cool stuff with the 3d perspective and i like the snippets of story you get from the crew members and the arcadey style of shooting gameplay you have going on! Cool stuff all around!

Excellent atmosphere and visuals! I also like the glimpses of story and would be really interested in seeing more of the game's world. I had a bit of a tough time with the perspective though, finding it difficult to tell where my gun was aiming and whether I was actually hitting the enemy bullets. But this was a great start that I would love to see more of!

The game is really immersive, great work!

Really fun game! I really like the visual look and I think the chosen sounds work really well. I really liked the dialog because it added some meaning to the game. It would be nice if there was a way that I could charge the shield up because it didn't feel great to lose health to the unstoppable laserbeam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks. Yeah, I think if we had more time, we would have looked how we could better implement the energy limitations.

That was actually a really cool game! Fun to play, I died around minute 4, when the second vessel appeared.
Two things from me as feedback;
1. Where was the implementation of the theme?
2. I would like some different music when the second vessel appeared, it just stopped music.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it. The theme of limit was focused around the energy, though we had to pivot mid-way so it isn't quite as involved as we hoped originally.

Submitted

yeah now that I think of it there was limited shield energy. Sadly not the best implementation, but I should change the rating cuz I put nothing on the theme tab

Hey cool, another 3D game! It looks really nice, and I appreciate that you made the models yourselves. I also really liked the dialogue boxes. They made the gameplay feel like it had a context, creating a much more exciting and immersive experience with just a few portraits and lines of text.

Like a few others said, I felt like the aiming seemed a little off at first, although I eventually got the hang of it. I think it has something to do with the perspective, and the fact that where you're aiming in 3D space is ambiguous and depends on the depth. Putting the cursor over things that need to die worked well enough, though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked it. The aiming was definitely a part where we explored a number of different methods, as we wanted to keep the camera further out rather than direct third/first person aiming.

Cool take on Missile Command, I really like the dialogue stuff, I think somehow two songs started playing at once for me though

Developer

Thanks. We didn't get the music progression script implemented until the final hours/minutes. I spent far too much time on cool animations of the main enemy that didn't even end up working in Unity...

I love idea , is good for this theme! Good job !

I wish I could have seen more of this game, but on my old surfacebook the frame rate is so terrible it wasn't really playable. I use Firefox too btw. I'll try it on a better computer later, but I just thought I'd let you know this feedback too!

Developer

Thanks for the heads up. One of the top wish list items for me was to have an option to lower the graphical/effects settings if we had another couple hours(along with fix audio/ending). In the end we stuck with the higher quality graphics because we put such a focus on the visuals.

I got a hint that lowering my resolution would help - and it did indeed so I got to play it! I appreciate all  the work you did on the visuals and the story. It's a fun, engaging premise, the gun takes a little bit to warm up to, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I haven't yet made it through to the end, but the try again button doesn't work for me so I have to reload it every time! I do hope you will get to polish it :))

Good submission, only thing is that it crashes on game over, have to reload the page

Developer

Thanks for the heads up - feels like torture not being able to re-upload with fixes right now

Was fun to checkout. Nice work. Only wish full screen worked as the default resolution is kind of small on my screen.

Developer

Thanks.  One day we'll figure out UI and resolution settings...

It reminded me  of the classic Missile Commander in terms of concept, but more like Gatling Cannon Commander, with  the Space Battleship Yamato.

I had fun blasting missiles and shielding the laser from octahedron (i suppose) enemy ship, while the crews kept me encouraged through the impending doom.

Developer

Thanks! That was part of my buddy's initial vision for the game. Glad it worked out

That was a really interesting idea, doing bullet hell as a sort of missile defense turret!

I had some slight problems with aiming, where things didn't always seem to get hit when the reticle was on top of them, but overall it went okay, and I managed to complete it after three attempts - it's very frantic! I assume the warp drive scene is the ending, at least, I saw that you said you didn't have time to implement the ending properly.

Weirdly enough, I had two tracks of music playing at the same time on my second attempt, and the Try Again button didn't work for me.

Overall, I liked the aesthetics, idea and gameplay!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the great feedback. Glad you were able to make it through to the end. Only wish we could have had a bit more time to clean up the ending. Thanks for the heads up on the music. That was something that we were down to the wire for, so we unfortunately didn't get to test it very well.

I can relate to not having enough time, I had to just add random things to my game at the end because I ran out as well...

Even still, I enjoyed your game and your idea, the things I mentioned didn't hold it back!

Submitted(+1)

Well Done! It reminds me of an arcade shooter. I think the shield needs a boost or item drops to increase as it felt too limiting. The art is consistent and the design is fun. I like how the shipmates keep you engaged.

Submitted(+1)

I had fun playing! The shield mechanic was nice, especially that you could "misuse" it and end up getting killed by the laser!

Nice game!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, balancing the shield limitations without making it too easy or impossible was a challenge!

Submitted

Really cool, and quite intense O_o

The shield management mechanic is really nice, although even though it fits the theme i’m not sure if you gave enough haha XD cause i tried to mostly use it against the large laser beam attack, i still ran out and got destroyed.

Then again it is a fun game, i like the alien ships’s designs, and the crew dialogue really helps to immerse in the dire situation they’re in.

Well done to y’all :)

Very good entry to the jam! I liked to be able to control a galactic destroyer, and the gamefeel is very good!

Is Warp time the end?

The package is really coherent with no weak part, which results in a notably immersive game.

Nice work.

Developer

Thanks - yeah the Warp was supposed to be a little more exciting, but we had to cut it.

The usage of the theme is really neat, and this 3D-implementation of a Bullet Hell Rail Shooter is a really nice idea!
