Found some of the platforming quite challenging, but I like the controls, graphics are good as well, well polished, overall a great game :)

Nice game, very enjoyable to play! You managed to get loads in for a week, good job :)

The game play is really smooth and the art is on point. I really loves that cutscene in the beginning. Great job!

Nice platformer, noticed some coyote time and jump input buffering, i am glad this is more and more common ! I encountered a bug, when you are against a wall and jump / shoot the platform, you can go through and skip many part of the game. Well done !

Developer

Glad you noticed the coyote time and jump buffering! These tiny differences do make a huge impact so I always make an effort to implement them in my platformers. As for the wall/platform issue, I am aware of that, I just didn't find a good, quick way to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice game. Got a little challenging with the pink player but enjoyable! The player sounds are great. I like the parallax background as well and the art is great. I feel like the player movement is a little slippery, it takes a while for the character to stop which definitely adds to the challenge.

Personally, I think if the character stopped almost immediately it would feel much nicer, but I do prefer snappy controls so this is subjective. I liked the idea too, having different ways to play the game is great!

this was a nice game! i couldnt finish it in the end, the part with all the wind and going upwards was too hard for me. but it fit the theme very well

Submitted

Really cool game! The platforming is very unforgiving, I think it would be better is that you can jump through the platforms you create. The music is really nice and sets the mood very well, and the sound effects were fitting as well. Very cool art as well!

Holy what you guys managed to accomplish is insane! Goals for next game jam lol

What a well done game! There was so much content and it was very challenging. I enjoyed how one character was moving right and the other to the left. One thing I would like to see is a bit faster projectiles for the characters special moves but other than that everything felt great.

very smooth gameplay! underrated for sure.

I’m blown away by how much you were able to put into this game! There was so much content and for the most part it was really well designed, there were only a couple places where I felt a little frustrated by enemy or tile positions. Your game design really resonated with me. I appreciate how one character moved right generally and one moved left, like they were moving towards each other, and how early on the colors are bleak and desaturated but still very good looking, but after the characters join together everything brightens up, the music gets more upbeat, and your moves become more powerful. When the two abilities joined to form a heart I was especially impressed. I also really liked your use of art in the game. The sprites are simple, but you used animation really effectively to get the idea across with the enemies and abilities. Very good title, this is something to be proud of.

This is a really nice and challenging platformer although it did take a bit to get used to the controls especially when you had to jump and make platforms. This might be intentional but you can continue making platforms and just jump over a good bit of the game but overall it was fun to play

Developer

Yeah, that was intentional. I didn't want to constrain that mechanic. It gives the player some options in how they actually want to tackle certain sections. I just made sure that there is some ceiling on top so that the player can't move up for all eternity.

Nice Game so glad that there where savepoints ;-)

A little wierd that you have to sacrifice some lives at some points ;-)

Developer

You don't really have to sacrifice lives, though? Maybe I missed something in testing but every part should be beatable without taking a hit or dying. Sometimes, it's just a little faster and easier to take damage.

Very punishing and challenging platformer with very nice art work to back it up, i really like the projectiles and the enemy art a lot, although the gameplay is quite unforgiving. Good game overall though!

Neat idea. I struggled with the feel of the controls. Character felt floaty, felt like the challenge for me was getting the character to do what I wanted so I quit pretty quick.

Very cool game with very good art.

Awesome art style and solid platformer controls. The story is simple but charming and the color scheme puts life into the game. Well done!

The theme, art and music are great - gameplay wise it's a fun platformer, but on my first playthrough I couldn't figure out how to attack but was able to make it through the game by tanking damage and respawning at checkpoints. Only when I made it to the red character did I realize that there had to be some other mechanic at play because I couldn't get out of that pit area otherwise. I restarted the game and then after watching the intro that showed their abilities (nice way to explain the mechanics btw I guess it's on me for missing that the first time) I just started button mashing until I found the "attack" button.

I originally planned to make a "Controls" screen in the menu but kinda ran out of time, so I only put it on the itch page. Glad you still stuck with it and managed to figure it out, though.

You've got a pretty cute story with some nice and simple graphics to boot. I also like the sounds you made, they're very unique and they fit the game pretty well. I really like the red guy's mechanic of making platforms, it makes the platforming more fun and there's quite a bit of skill involved in it too.

I think some checkpoints could be placed better. Some deaths set you way  too far back, particularly the section with the wind. I also think the player hitbox should be smaller, because there were some places where you needed super precise jumping to fit through one block wide gaps. Finally, the bubble and platform projectiles should move a bit faster so that the player doesn't have to wait as long to continue on.

Great job on your game, I spent a while playing it.

The art is great, especially the backgrounds and the animated enemes. Could have taken it to the next level with parallax, it looks like it was already drawn in layers anyway. One minor nitpick is that there were one or two areas where there were seams in your tilemap. Really appreciate the checkpoints, I was very worried on my first death I was going to have to start all over. Music is great, always nice to see multiple tracks, and they fit their areas well. Sounds are solid, not annoying which a lot of repetitive sounds like jumping can sometimes be.

Developer

Thanks! Parallax is a great suggestion. I just went with the most basic solution of attaching the backgrounds to the camera because time was a little tight.
