Great concept and art. It was fun to explore the painting and I see a lot of potential. Just need a little bit more communication with the player on what to do and a few tweaks to the collisions as others mentioned. Great job, Liams!
The collision was a bit janky, but aside from that, this is a very fun game with an interesting graphical style! :D
A unique platformer.
The game itself seems fine except for collision issues (player can randomly get stuck in geometry) also there wasn't much direction for the player to know what they did was right or wrong, leading to confusion. If a player asks what am I doing or where am I suppose to go multiple times, then it may be a little too confusing. Play testing here could have helped a lot. The art looked fantastic, and the gameplay seemed like it had promise. The confusion of what to do and where to go, and some broken mechanics (like collision) ultimately made the game a bit frustrating taking away from the experience.
I streamed it here:
I really love the concept and artstyle!! A beautiful game, and the friends are really cute! ^^
I had a few bugs while playing, though. The first time I played I got stuck here :
which was a bit frustrating, as I had to start the whole game again. The second time I got more careful and managed to go to the second level but then there was a bug in the rotation process and I just fell into the grey forever :')
Appart for these issues, I really liked the experience and would totaly play a full game out of it!
This game looks amazing! o.o
It was a little bit complicated to understand the logic of it, maybe some signs would have helped. But the graphics were so nice. I really like the fact that you go inside these huge paintings and can interact with them.
Great Idea, great execution! n.n
I hope you can try out my game too.
Really cool abstract and calm ink art style! We both loved just exploring the paintings. The idea was really new and lovly def a lot of potential there. :)
We nearly missed the whole game though because we didn't get at first that you need to press E to activate the level entry haha. A graphical feedback if a teleporter is activated or not would be nice.
Anyway, really cool project.
All the best from the Wilma & Buddy Team
I love the ink doodle style of this game! I had fun playing it.. the mechanics of the map rotating is also cool. Most of the game i played it holding F.. it was much more fun for me this way, in order to solve the mystery. Very nice game Koitere :)
[edit bug report: i forgot to write that once i fell over a "cliff" and started falling endlessly with no options to restart the lvl.. i had to close the game and re-enter.]
Very fun game!! I love the rotation and the floaty bouncy character, very chill music and interesting gameplay! My only sad moments where when I jumped and accidentally wedged myself in a tight block of black that was but also wasn't full closed/connected. Maybe widening the collision boundaries on the black or offering a respawn button to zoop back to a previous teleport?
Great game though!
The art is great and I really enjoyed exploring the levels and discovering all the secrets. Rotating the level and zooming out are great mechanics that really aid the exploration. Only two minor criticisms: the jump is a bit too floaty (maybe increase the gravity value just a little bit) and the visual gaps between platforms can be a little big. Sometimes I wasn't sure whether I could (or was supposed to) squeeze my character through them. Increasing the size of the character by about half probably would have helped to create a bigger contrast between the size of the gaps and of the character.
But overall, great game!
I like the artstyle and music! I also like how you did the rotating levels. One criticism I can give is that the player behaves pretty weird when jumping on walls, maybe some physics materials would solve this. Overall great job!
Hey love the style, got stuck a bit on the art though and feels a tad too slow, still great though
Looked really good, played pretty well (apart from a few little bugs with the jumping). I couldn't get past the first painting. I might just suck, but it was too hard for me!
Thanks a lot!
The overall game design was amazing! It's really cool to explore the artwork, and I love how the art rotates as you go around it. It feels like it's telling a story even though there aren't any words. The controls when the player is on the edges of artwork at times is a bit janky but other than that the mechanics were solid. I enjoyed playing this during the stream today, and I'm sure everyone else did as well! Thanks for showing up!
Thanks so much for playing! Keep up the good work streaming, was a very entertaining experience!
Thank you :) I will be streaming more in the future, feel free to stop by. I'll announce it in my discord: https://discord.gg/qbUBg2tjED
Really interested in the gravity gameplay and liked both the narrative + gameplay of "entering" a painting (and then going inside the drawing itself, with teleporters). It's a meaningful concept with a lot of room to explore (literally).
Nice aesthetics also! The minimalist black-and-white visuals and 2D art fit really well.
Platforming is a bit off sometimes, but I think it can be forgiven since there's a lot of moving parts in this game.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot! Platforming is something we're working on improving, ran out of time to really fine tune it. Glad you enjoy it and thanks for the review!
Platforming was a little janky at times, but didn't distract from the exploration too much. Great overall aesthetic. A calm and relaxing game to play. Well done.
Thanks a lot! Platforming is something I will definitely work on more given more time but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
artsy!
Amazing art style. Got stuck in the artwork a few times and couldn't escape. Needs some signifiers to indicate when the puzzle will rotate and some testing to help prevent getting stuck. Great look!
I got stuck a lot. The art style is very awesome though. :-)
