Fun little game! Pretty unique in it's own way :) I did finish it but just not good enough to get the "truth"! :)

In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player must collect all the screws, but if they accidentally collect a screw BEFORE collecting the key, the factory "rewinds" and the screw is no longer part of the score! The player must traverse through the factory so that the ball can learn... something
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all of the code was made from scratch and all assets used were given proper crediting and are original works.

Very interesting idea, I like how the environment changes after collecting the key. I do wish that there was an actual sprite for the character, I think a robot or something like that would fit well. The music is eerie and mysterious, and I like the idea of having multiple endings. Nicely done!
The foreground and the background are quite difficult to distinguish sometimes, also it took me a while to spot the difference between normal platforms and the ones with the moving terrain. I also wish the character something different than a plain white circle. Despite this, the level design was interesting and the mechanics were nice. It lacks some polish but the ideas are nice, good job!
Good use of rewind mechanic. I went with something a little more literal.
Feel free to check out my short and sweet puzzle game with record/rewind mechanics (Backtrack): https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723990
I like the fact that the game is a puzzle-platformer, mine is too, and the idea of optional collectables and alternative ending is something I'd like to implement too, given the chance. Regarding the visuals, I liked them for the most part, but the contrast between the detailed platforms and the geometric character was a bit too harsh. Also, how are you supposed to get up in the level with the descending metal bar? I got stuck there
Actually the character is purposely just a white ball. You're supposed to find out why after beating the game without dying, but I've realized that it's pretty difficult to do that. For the descending metal bar, you're supposed to let the bar drop all the way to the bottom and collect the key when the moving sawblade reaches the very edge. Then you have to quickly go around and get back onto the metal bar before it rises back up again. This level turns out to be the trickiest of them all.
Thanks for reviewing :)
If you look at the platform above the key, you should be able to stand on it after rewinding the factory. The moving sawblade should also stop moving after collecting the key. This should allow you to stand on the above platform safely and wait for the metal bar to go up a bit. Then you can jump on the bar and jump to the door. Sorry that the level is pretty confusing.
This was actually harder than I thought it would be when I first looked, I liked the melancholy music combined with the visuals. The controls felt nice to use and the puzzles were a good level of difficulty.
I am not sure what I was meant to learn at the end though, was it that when he says about getting more screwed to learn about himself, It's implying that hes stuck in an endless loop?
A solid puzzle platformer! The mechanics are clear from the start and more than fair, but also very challenging. There are extra rewards--the screws--for those who want to try and max out the level, or they can simply take the direct route to the door. The music fit the atmosphere created by those wonderful graphics, although a slightly longer music loop could be good, because it repeats very quickly. I would have liked to hear more audio effects in this creepy factory, plenty of opportunity for some fun sound design. My big wish would be for a player sprite; it's hard to feel the character of a simple ball. I could easily burn many hours trying to solve all these puzzles. Congratulations on creating such a satisfying experience!
Yeah I wanted to make longer music but I ended up having to write it all on the last day due to my bad planning. The story and endings is actually based on the fact that it's just a white little ball, but I'm not too sure if many people are willing to get that far haha. Thanks so much for playing and reviewing!
I really like how well the levels are build around the rewind mechanic.
Interesting game! The puzzles were pretty tricky!
I don't have too many suggestions, mainly just explain it more, and maybe add a bit more friction (the movement felt a bit hard to control at times). I am still not fully sure how rewinding works and how is it rewinding the factory.
Thanks for the review! I was trying to make it so the player would eventually figure out what to do, but I guess it wasn't too clear. The movement was pretty hard to get right since I'm still pretty new to game development, but I'll definitely look into it! When rewinding, time rewinds the screws from your score, and the factory "rewinds" and some mechanics go in reverse or just stop working in general.
Pretty fun! A bit confused on the multiple endings... Also the music could do with a bit of extra work. I enjoyed it!
Nice little platformer. Jumping felt little bit janky sometimes but overall it was good.
I loved the look and feel of your game. It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do. A tutorial would have been helpful. Otherwise , you've done a great job.
Very fun game! I like the added depth of trying to avoid the screws on your first time around, but suddenly the level changes and now the screws you tried so hard to avoid are now hard to collect. I tried my hardest to collect all the screws without dying, but alas I just wasn't good enough :(
I think a nice touch would be making some of the mechanics more clear, like which platforms disappear after the rewind, and which direction conveyor belts are moving.
Overall, a great game, especially for your first jam! I had a ton of fun playing it.
This is a very interesting idea. I liked the music, but just wish it was a bit longer and more complex. The art was nice as well. This game does a very good job of explaining itself, and that's a very good trait to have. Great job.
I enjoyed playing through multiple times trying to find all the screws; the rewind mechanic worked really well! The music also fit the atmosphere very well and gave a very spooky vibe.
