In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player must collect all the screws, but if they accidentally collect a screw BEFORE collecting the key, the factory "rewinds" and the screw is no longer part of the score! The player must traverse through the factory so that the ball can learn... something
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all of the code was made from scratch and all assets used were given proper crediting and are original works.

This is good game. Nice puzzle platformer. like the music too. Great Job.
An amazing game, really made me think about the level. I managed to finish with 54 deaths after i got the hang of not collecting screws before the key. Good background music. Well done.
Very good game for being your first one! I love how you have the death counter on the screen to mock the player.
Fun puzzle platformer. Music is fitting and the aspect of changing the level when collecting the key was executed well. Nice job.
Really nice game! The idea and the game itself are really good. The big clock that appears when getting the key bothered me a bit, as it covered the screen, but it might just be me lol. Good game and keep it up! Would really appreciate if you could check out my game too and leave a rating :)
Just FYI: I uploaded the video from when I played your game on stream. You can check it out here (timestamps for each game are in the description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zndBygTNM2w
Coool Game, The Puzzles are really well thought out and a little bit tricky,
Cool puzzles and tight controls. Good job!
I really enjoyed it! Pretty nice. It's the only game in this jam that I had to replay after finishing it! I really loved how there were different endings for not getting all the screws and for getting all the screws. I didn't like the idea of having to play the whole game without restarting, though. I would basically just have to replay the game every time I made a tiny mistake. I think being able to go back to the challenge that is giving you trouble very quickly via the restart button was a great decision, but having the true ending locked behind not using it took out the purpose of the restart button. But I never like it when games do this, so it could be just me.
Overall, though, I really enjoyed it! Great job.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I agree it's pretty frustrating when you have to restart from the beginning after a small mistake. What I thought people might do is maybe practice some of the levels so that they can eventually beat the game without getting hit. For example, level 4 can be pretty tough, so after grabbing the key and getting to do the door, you could restart the level and practice doing it again.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback! The game design isn't the best since it's my first jam, so I'll definitely try improving it and making the true ending more accessible!
I enjoyed the challenge of this game. Jumping off platforms felt a bit unforgiving at times, you could change this by adding some coyote time in a post-jam version. I only realised I wasn't meant to be collecting the screws until after getting the key when I read the description. You could tint the screws red when you're not supposed to collect them or provide another visual indicator to communicate this to the player better. Overall, fun game! Hope you are able to keep working on it after the jam and this feedback was useful :)
Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't too sure if adding coyote time to the jump would be necessary since it might seem unnatural, but I'll definitely try implementing it and seeing how it does! As for the screws, I'm currently working on a way of showing the player that they should pick them up after collecting the key :)
Thanks for playing and reviewing!
Really cool level design and use of the rewind theme! I really enjoyed how challenging the levels were and how from the very beginning you become mindful of how many times you Restart (rather than just spamming it). Great job! :)
Thanks! :)
I really liked the concept and the mechanics. The challenge of picking the key before the screws was really well implemented. The art work was also very good. However, there are some bugs that cause the screws to be placed somewhere else. Some polishing is required but apart from that the game was really good.
Could you please take the time to rate my game too? Its not as good as yours but it would mean a lot to me if you rated my game too.
Thanks for playing and reviewing! The bug with the screws in the first level has been fixed and I will update the game after the jam :)
I played your game, and it was pretty fun! I think some things that could be added would be visual feedback when the player collides with a sawblade or spike (Although I don't really have that lol). The hit boxes also felt a bit unforgiving. Also, maybe add a bit of animation to the player! Otherwise, you did a nice job! The graphics were nice and the game felt good to play! :D
Thank you so much for taking the time to rate my game. I really appreciate it.
Its a fine platformer, I liked the art style and the controls are quite solid
I found these 2 bugs:
1) If you grab the key in the first level, quit the level and replay, you start with the key grabbed.
2) I died in the first level inmeddiatly after grabbing the key, and 2 screws spawned on the left instead of 1. After grabbing all the screws (plus the extra) I finished the game with 16 screws (instead of the usual 15), and got the "not enough screws" ending.
Also, some things to consider. You dont make it clear enough that you have to grab the screws AFTER grabbing the key.
Which takes me to the rewind. It doesnt feel like a rewind, but more of a change of scene.
You should try adding some sound effects (like Jump, pickup, and pad sounds). Check out BFXR for free sound effects.
Finally, I dont like that the player is just a white circle, since it stands out a lot in comparisson to the rest of the Art style. You should either try to make the rest of the artstyle more simple, to fit in with the player, or make the player more complex to fit with the rest of the scene (I think a robot would work really well, since you seem to be in a factory collecting screws).
Overall Its a good game, Well done :D
Thanks for the feedback! The 2 bugs you stated are definitely things I'm trying to fix but wasn't able to before the end of the jam. I also agree that it should be more clear that people should collect the screws after getting the key and is something I'm considering in a future update.
With the rewind, I saw it as the factory "rewinding" (like unseen gears and stuff that make up the factory now moving in the opposite direction) that make some platforms disappear and reappear, as well as things going in reverse or stopping altogether. Time also rewinds in a sense that collecting the screws before the key removes the screws from the score, and you're being rewound to when you never collected any screws in the level.
I definitely wanted to add some sound effects, but I didn't have much time left (Although I'll definitely check out BFXR for some of them).
The player is just a white ball because [SPOILER] it gets disappointed after learning its true identity. Although I can see why it would be weird having a plain character inside of a more detailed area.
Nicely done!
Nice puzzle platformer. I didn't even realise the first time I played it that I was meant to collect the bolts AFTER the key haha; when I read that I went back and did it again haha. I of course died a bunch of times then, and I'm not sure I'm keen enough to go back and try to do a perfect run haha. I'm content with my knowledge that life is meaningless :P (haha it got very existential at the end there which vibed well with me haha).
Overall quite solid! I dont have too much to complain about with the game, everything was fairly decent, but I guess everything could be bumped up slightly too in terms of graphics/sound effects etc. (everything was good but not great I guess is the best explanation I could give; but that's understandable for a game-jam game i think)
Only thing I thought could be improved upon a bit more was the theme; I didn't fully understand why the key 'rewound time', or why rewinding time made certain platforms disappear/appear, or why I was collecting bolts. But perhaps some things are just not meant to be understood (or perhaps I would have understood more if I did that perfect run through?).
Thanks for the feedback it means a lot! Yeah i was going to implement something to show that the bolts/screws should be collected after collecting the key, but once again, i didn't have much time. The game is quite difficult, so being able to beat it at all is impressive! I wanted to balance out the difficulty a bit more, but again, no time :(
As for the theme, I kind of saw it as the factory "rewinds" so some of the platforms go back to original states and are no longer accessible (or are now accessible). Conveyor belts go in reverse (rewinding), and moving sawblades stop moving. I guess this would fit more of a "reverse" theme, but I liked the idea of having the levels change slightly, making the player move through the levels differently. I'm not sure why the key rewound time, so it was just an added feature inside this strange factory.
The little ball is supposed to collect the bolts in order to learn his/her identity. The giant bolt at the very end helps the ball learn who it is, but it must have enough screws with no injuries (deaths). The game and mechanics could definitely be explained better. Anyway, there's a lot I could improve on, so thanks so much for leaving this great feedback!
Nice little puzzle platformer. Good job.
A cool concept! It would be grate if there is a way to tell if there is a tread mill:) great job other wise!
Very nice idea and graphics.
Played the game here:
haha thanks for playing and reviewing! I watched you play through the game, so here's a quick GIF for the level you were stuck on
Oooooooh I see now. Yeah, that really is quite complicated for a very early level into the game, yet a very nice puzzle.
That was very fun. The music really sets the tone and the challenge is great
