In what way does your game fit the theme?
We interpreted "rewind" as going back in your own memory and remember things. If you press one of the rewind buttons on the top left of the screen while you are answering a question, it takes you back to the room you saw, letting you see more details

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes we did. The audio, the letter fonts and the rewind camera effect were downloaded for free, and they were free to use. Everything else was made by us.

Really well made game! Certainly stands out from the crowd :) The rewind mechanic really fits and makes sense. The flow is perfect. Humorous and clever. The only thing that I missed was the opportunity to end the investigation phase early/manually. Maybe you could, and I just missed it.. Anyway, top notch!

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing! We put the suggestion on our things to do list

This game is really unique! I love the way the theme was put into play. The funny animations (when he kicks you out) and dialogue quips make for a really great experience.

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Great idea and really fun game in general. I for one especially really like the artwork and also the humorous bits put into the dialogue.
Amazing game!

This game is fantastic! So well made and so creative. Easily the best if not one of the best in this jam.

Submitted

well polished game but can improve UI and add more scenes, also movement in bar room is bugged

Developer (2 edits)

The movement bug only happens to some people, we are investigating it, and the UI changes are one of the things we have in our to do list... Also, each room took up to 2 days to make, so we didnt have time for another one, we invested the time on polishing the game. Will add more in the future...Thanks for playing!

Great idea and a really fun and enjoyable experience! Apparently I wouldn't be a very good detective but I felt like one nonetheless.

Developer

Keep trying! You'll someday get your desired detective job, and not some stupid game development thing :P Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Fun game, reminded me a lot of Clue DVD. I love that it changes the room each time you play, and i dunno what the partying cheese in the bar was but i loved it

Developer

Check out our last game and you will see why there is a party cheese in the bar :P! Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing^^

Fun game, I suck at memory games tho, luckily I could rewind back and check again.

Great game !!!

Very fun and simple to understand. The levels are interesting, the characters are fun and charming and the overall polish is really good.

Play my game, and give me your feedback if you have the time.

I think we share some similarities.

I already said almost everything on stream. Very amzing and creative game. Thx you for being there. Also play my game if you havent

A memory game with the graphics of the worst of the first Playstation .. the rewind effect is quite trivial. I don't understand so much enthusiasm. I would have appreciated it if it had been developed by one person, but with a team of four developers I think more could be done. Still nice in the end, but nothing more :)

Developer

We are sad you didnt like it that much :/ Still, thanks for playing!

Nice Game, I like the concept of the game

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

This game surprised me, I didn't expect it to be this good from just a look at the screenshots

What I loved about this game:

  • 50's Aesthetics and references
  • Cafe Jazz Music (Fits well with detective memory game)
  • The game doesn't coddle the player (Got sent back to the menu when i said No, maybe or not sure haha!)
  • Graphics reminded me of GTA Vice City (Good memories ahh...)
  • Game Dev reference and the banging on the table (made me uncomfortable, so added to the experience)
  • Love the replayability aspect as details change in the scenes
  • 3D rewind effect and scene transitions
  • Hearing Correct! is satisfying after alots of bangs on the table (Love the contrast between the two)
  • Dance at the end (Reminds me of Pulp Fiction)

Improvements

  • I can't suggest anything much since I feel like you guys made the game close to perfect
  • Timer in the questioning phase would add more pressure in the interview
  • Some character dialog's in the scenes (Would be great to catch on some clues as well)
  • The detective ask about what changed in his office at the end of the questioning (so player has to recall the intro scene again)

Bugs

  • No bugs found, Well Done!

Thanks for making this amazing game guys, it felt like a very polished game that fits the theme well.  Even made me realize how little detail I take into account in my own life. Good Job Team , this game is in my Top 5 list in the Jam. 5 stars all the way through. :D

Wow thanks for such a detailed review, glad you liked it and played it till you won! Appreciate the feedback, and will take notes on your suggestions! Character dialogs were going to be implemented but we didn't have enough time to implement it :P

Submitted

Honestly, if you add more scenes and dialog. It would be good enough for steam launch. Wish you all the best bro <3

Loved the grafics of the game and the theme itself

The idea is great and creative and your game has an interesting setting. The graphics look good too.

Only thing I would change is like adding a button to skip back to the questions, after rewinding. This would be nice, because I had to rewind for one thing and then had to wait a little bit.

Great game!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! We write that on our things to do list and might add it on the future, thanks for playing! :P

"Become a game developer or something" jeez I have no choice it seems :^)

I can't seem to win but that is my fault since I can't concentrate at all. The game is very well made, it's the type of game I would watch in a let's play or something! The design is pleasing as well!!

Funny and creative, good job and hope you had fun making it!! ^^

Developer(+1)

Keep trying, its not that hard! :P We all have no choice... This detective knows too much :)

I'll play some more when I'm a bit more relaxed :P

Very well made game, the astethics are nailed in this one, this game could definetly be expanded on and become a "real thing". The game was extremely hard though, I didn't manage to finish it, one of the better games in this jam that's for sure, probably my highest rated game thus far and the one I enjoyed playing the most

Game Design: 5/5

Fun: 4/5

Innovation: 4/5

Theme: 4/5

Graphics: 4/5

Audio: 5/5

Supremely nailed aesthetic, especially the graphics with a fun concept. Alas, I had to become a game developer :(

Would definitely check out a post-jam version!
