Godot!

gameplay was pretty neat but aran looks like tony hawk mixed with tobey maguire spider man

Hi, I’ve been developing games since 2014, and I have a lot of experience and have competed in numerous jams.

I was hoping I could team up with a friend who does not have any experience in game jams for this jam.

Is it okay that I have been developing games for a long time and competing in this jam?

Also, sorry if this question sounds dumb but because of the name I wanted to make sure I wasn’t violating anything (:

yeah a lil bit

I want a copy of Amy’s guide to grasss please

Hi, I was hoping to compete in this jam. Before I join I want to know if teams are allowed to join. I will most likely still compete although if I can get one other friend to work with me that would be neat.

Nice experience, tied together well with a responsive character and well telegraphed and thought out attacks. Loved it!

Thanks!

Thanks! The stealth was kinda thrown together in the last 5 hours, and lacks a lot of importance. I knew this when finishing the game but just kept it as is. Will definitely include SFX and more combat features later. Thanks for dropping a review!

Hi, thanks for having fun with my game. Unfortunately I was unable to build a release configured copy of my game, meaning most of the unused libraries, binaries, and content were still packaged in alongside the main game. After the jam I will release a copy taking up around 10% of the space and that will perform slightly better on low end hardware. I appreciate the positive review!

https://peemard.itch.io/shlippy This is my game. It’s a short action/adventure type with a unique mechanic.

This was a good game. The mechanic has a lot of further potential and puts a nice strategic layer on top of the combat. There are a few things I would modify to make the experience that much better:

Add adequate pathfinding to the goblins so they dont get stuck

Lower the health of the humans so they dont kill you even with 10+ goblins

Fix up the collisions

Overall, with these additions, this would make for a pretty solid release!

The game was pretty fun, although I couldnt finish the second part for the life of me because several of the walls lacked collision and I would just fall right through them. Would’ve liked to see the end, but wasn’t able to get there.

THE DAMN COMPUTER KNOWS MY NAME AND SHOWED ME MY PORN FOLDER WHAT THE FUCK

Mines a but unconventional, hope you enjoy

Thanks! I’ll make sure to try out your game too!

Thanks for the feedback! I was planning on animating a preparation/windup animation for attacks, but I realised pretty late in development that I only had a few hours left to work and started scrapping ideas left and right. The gems were planned to be used as a currency at a human shop if you were disguised, but was also cut for the same reasons. During development I struggled to give the 2D perspective a real purpose, and interactions were the only feature I could think of that could be exclusive. Thanks again!

Thanks for the positive review! I was planning on adding a border around enemies but simply ran out of time, so that would be brought into consideration for a post-jam build if I make one. The collision is pretty simple to fix, just when the collision size is the exact same as the gap it decides to collide anyways. Thanks again for the feedback!

Hmmm… This looks familiar…

(Look at my game for context)

This was pretty fun, although in concept it is lacking. The switching mechanic was far more polished than mine, and the 3d voxel enemies were a nice touch aswell. The only reason I complain is the lack of actual content that would make for better replayability, with potentially more enemies, levels, weapons, and more. Good job!

This is a fun little short game with good replayability. I ran into no issues while playing which is a pretty good statement when it comes to proced. levels, and was able to complete the game on all dificulties. My only question is whether or not the carrots have any other purpose than ammunition, because I figure running around the farmers is a lot easier than fighting them, rendering the carrots useless. Otherwise a great game with wonderful audio and a great premise.

Pretty fun yet short game, with challenging yet achievable and rewarding platforming. I liked the usage of the face sprites for rotating spheres and the smiling/frowning based off of whether or not its safe to go under(I assume). I used them in my game to convey your health haha. The checkpoints looked really cool and the animation suprised me at first. Good game!

That pink and green fecker stole me charm at 5am and then the dudes with mask took over me wells ): I am sad.

4/10 needs more Fortnite and Marques Brownlee

In all seriousness, this game was actually pretty fun. It controlled well and the art looks really nice. The shurikens were a really cool addition and I like how they penetrate and dont get stuck on the first enemy you hit them with, along with them returning to player.

The rewind mechanic didn’t make much sense the first few times but I soon understood how to use it, and it works really well once you’ve mastered it.

It kinda brings back memories of the old flash shooters you’d play in school, and that nostalgia factor really completed the experience.

As Will Smith would say upon seeing this masterpiece, “aah, that’s hot!”

This game is extremely good looking and well polished. There weren’t any apparent bugs during my playthrough and the graphics and audio quips brought the whole thing together extremely well. If this game continues development the biggest thing I would expect is more maps and gamemodes. This was by far the most unique game made for the jam that I’ve played so far!

Thanks! I will fix the uncontrollableness in a later update. Glad to see you enjoyed!

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed! I’ve become aware to the fact that the car need a heavy increase in friction, so I’ll take that to account in the next update.

God Tier

I am commenting on this post for the second time because it has been the only game this jam that I have frequently returned to play more of. I’m not sure how it’s done but this game has the ability to make even the worst players feel godly, and the soundtrack ties together the whole experience. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get the music, and if you made it, do you take comissions? This game is incredible and I can’t wait to see what becomes of it.

I’m glad you enjoyed!

I played through the game and thought it looked stunning, but the code needs some work. UnrighteousSoftware left a pretty good explanation on what needs to be done. This game has the potential to make a pretty well rounded indie release with enough attention and care. Keep at it!

also maybe just maybe try out my game I need more reviews

This game is really unique! I love the way the theme was put into play. The funny animations (when he kicks you out) and dialogue quips make for a really great experience.

This was a fun experience, I really engoyed the laser upgrade. I would add more levels and more story background for better clarity to the player. Overall a nice and short game with cool weapons and upgrades. Please continue this game.

also maybe rate my game O:

This was a fun short game, with a nice story and challenging puzzles. Would like to see the text at the start of a level not show up after restarting the level, but that’s about it. Loved the isomectric retro theme!
