I genuinely think you should continue developing this and make a fleshed out game involving this concept, it's got potential! Not sure how much this fits in with the theme though, but I really enjoyed this!

Developer

The theme didn't have to be about literal biscuits, so I made a risk based game where instead of you knowing your attack will necessarily go through, I made it involve an inherent element of luck :p thanks for the kind words!!^^

Cool game!  I really enjoyed the tension that was built by the music and continuously rolling dice.  They made everything feel a lot more intense during the gameplay.  The art is very nice as well.  My only critique is that placing a dice in the top slot and hovering over it places its tooltip outside of the screen.  It's not super important to the gameplay or anything - more often than not, the player will remember what the dice did anyway - but I still think it's worth noting.  Anyways, great job and have a nice jam!

This is quite a nice little dice game. Gameplay is just simple drag and drop but there is quite a bit of decision-making involved, luckily making such decisions is not too hard, where at the end of the day, it's just big-number-better type of gameplay. Balancing is done quite well, and the progression feels smooth with gradual difficulty increases. The arkworks are also really nice. I love the hand-drawn style of the game, and that gives me that 2000s Japanese indie vibe.

A few minor nitpicks would be that there should be a better way to indicate health loss/gain. Preferably doing that +20, -10 popups thingy directly about the charcters' head. I would also suggest writing the range of the die on screen at all times, instead of hovering out it with a tool tip. Last but not least, using Enter to end each turn is quite a bad idea. Given the game is mainly mouse controls, adding a button to end each turn would reduce some frustration when playing.

Anyway, with all that said, the game is still quite well made. keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for the deep feedback!

While I only did the art, I’ll take notes from here in case I do something similar

Happy to see you liked the art, I spent the most time I could doing it and my shoulder is still recovering from that haha. Thanks for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

The art is amazing, the dice selecting is also very satisfying, good job !

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked the art, thanks for playing :)

Really solid concept! Nice amount of synergies to make between the dice. Had a ton of fun. Some UI modifications, like a button to start the battle would be good. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

Quite an enjoyable game. Really enjoyed the vast amount of choices available for each move. It really feels like you have some real control over the game. I really liked the probability-based battle. I really used to love playing with a die. Thanks for making this game!

Developer

Thanks for playing ^^

So yeah I came back to try and finish the game> I beat some older guy who looked like he owns the place at top of the building looked like the last floor) and screen is just black, so I don't know if I was able to beat it or not

So yeah, good luck in game jam, was really nice game, and I like that you can build like combos, that's really cool. And I fell like it's balanced. Well done :D

Developer(+1)

Then you beat the game haha :)

There is a bug that don't let you go to the end screen so it's a black screen,  and happy you came back to finish the game,  there could be more combos but some dice got bugged and got replaced with some with no effect, otherwise the game would be unbeatable haha

Thanks again for playing :D

Submitted(+1)

You are welcome :)

As for bugged dice, I'm glad you wrote it in description of a dice, that's really nice, and I don't really mind them being bugged, I mean we had 7 days only so yeah, that's short to make a game for scratch, you all did awesome.

It really is a nice little game, good luck! :D

Loved the gameplay basics of pitting dice and their effects against enemies. Makes it so there are vast tactical choices the player could m make. Could see this expanded to make synergies and combobrakers that could be really satisfying to pull off.

Wish there was any sound effects to sell the clashes. Also sorely needed after each clash was a result indicators in-between, so i clearly see what was the  outcome of each clash because right now its difficult to parse if i did good job or not in my choices.

Cool music and animations.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, there could be more strategy to the game, sadly some dice got bugged and in order to deliver a playable prototype, those got removed, also at the start of the jam we talked about the gameplay and had to remove some mechanics due it could lead to a big overscoope haha

The sfx also got bugged before delivering the game so those don’t play and the team got tired so we couldn’t fix it in time :(

Thanks for playing! ^^

A really simple concept with a really good execution! The game itself feels very juicy and I really like the parry mechanic when your number is the same as the opponent's number. The ost and spritework are simply majestic!

Developer

The focus of our programmer was to try to give the most juice possible to each turn, to learn about some stuff, and my goal was to draw the most I could this jam, happy you like that about our game!

Thanks for playing! ^^

Pretty cool concept once you actually get the idea of what needs to be done. I think there are quite a lot of stuffs about the UI that can be improved so the player can grasp information better (such as enemy dice showing their range immediately instead you having to hover over them for example, or having a clash button so you only need one hand to play the game :>.
The music was nice but it's kinda repetitive after a bit, a bit more sword slashes would definitely add to it as well

Developer(+1)

I see I see, yeah, the lack of tutorial can make the game a bit hard to understand at the start and those are nice points about the UI, the sfx bugged before we uploaded the final version and the team got very tired that we couldn’t fix it in time haha

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! :)

I really love this! Super cool, only downside for me was that I got softlocked after a certain fight, that the game felt a little too easy, and that some more user feedback like particles and some SFX would have been cool. However other than that, this is really nice, very unique gameplay and usage of the theme, and great music and art, really nice job!

Developer

Happy that you like the game! ^^

About the softlock, sad to hear it, the programmer tried to patch the most they could but the tiredness got to all of us and we couldn't test many parts, specifically the ranged enemies and the balance of the game

Same about sfx, some bug didn’t let it play despite being there, about particles, we thought about it while doing the game and decided to put it without it for now, it could look a bit weird, or we thought that

Good to see you liked the art and many parts of the game, thanks for playing and the feedback! :)

Charming little game. It could use a tutorial of some sort though, it took me a moment of dragging dices across the screen to figure out what the hell was I even supposed to do. After that the game became a nice little strategy, I really enjoyed it. Music was also a blast.

Keep up the good work!

Nice music, loved the art. Gameplay is a bit too random for me. Could use music volume slider. Nice game.

Developer

Yeah, we couldn't get time for it and couldn't implement settings for volume and stuff, even for a menu haha

Thanks for playing :)

Cute game with real intense music. The artwork is nice and consistent, and I like the variety of dice with different abilities. I wish each attack had a little more impact with some sound effects, but those are hard to pull together on short notice. I wish each clash showed a big popup of what each side rolled; I'm not sure if this would really change the experience too much, but it would help scratch that gambling itch.

Developer

Happy you liked the art, I was doing it all the jam and was fun to do haha

About the sound effects, bugs appeared last minute and didn't play even if those were there, we got too tired so it was left as it is now, thanks for the feedback on the visual result of the dice roll and thanks for playing! :D

Really fun game, it's so cool to see the complete version of a game I've seen the dev steps at Discord. And is a really cool game, creative way to use dice, since each one has different effects and range, art is pretty good too, congrats for your game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and great to see you liked the art ^^

I got to the boss guy beat him and the screen just turned black, idk what supposed to happen, anyway PROJECT MOON!!!!! I LOVEEEE THE UI AND POLISH!!!! the art is really cute and its impressive you were able to do this in 7 days. maybe a bit too easy , the seven heaven strike may not have an effect but it consistently has high rolls so i always picked it and beat the final boss in like 4 turns, anyways great game!

Developer

The screen turning black is a canvaslayer issue I intend to fix ^^" but it was basically a screen telling you that you won the game, so don't worry about it~ thanks for playing the game!^^

Cool concept!, Beautiful art and UI!

Developer

Thanks for playing and happy you liked the art :)

Absolutely amazing game. Good UI. Also like the foreground moving details. Don't see that in games in general ,and it really should exist more, 👍👍.
As you have mentioned. The game is really tough, but I am personally fine with harder game jam games.

Probably my favorite game I have played so far!

The descriptions in the hovering UI, could use some work. I had a hard time figuring out whether or not the dice had anything mechanically different about them.

More nit picky:
It was a little hard for me to read the dice on the hit. The attack animation was a bit too fast making the numbers difficult for me to keep track of what was going on during combat. Slight pause would have gone a long way.

All in all, amazing!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! ^^

nice job! this time i played the game through, seeing the game go from no art or anything to fully finished and stylized was really cool

Submitted(+2)

I played it before the submissions ended, and played it once again.

You did a good job!

Also for some reason the UI has the same vibe as Morning Starter!

I liked it, but for Quality of Life I'd suggest being able to click on the dice to add them to your move set.

Developer

Thanks for playing twice and for the feedback ^^
