How does the game fit the theme?
A detective lost his job and has to put his career, his house, his livelihood all on the line by solving cases to save his town and earn some cash.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Sound effects were gathered from royalty free sources. Other credits and attributions included in the source files. The drawing, code and everything else was developed by me (even though I'm not the best artist lol)
Worked on developing this game for a little some years ago. Stopped pretty early, took a really long break and decided to finally lock in and put in work to finish it for the game jam.

I liked it! Any solving cases games are just up my alley! Good writing, lots of clever and fun stuff! Waiting for other cases now :)
Thanks for trying it
I LOVE THESE GAMES!!! Really well done!!!
Glad to hear. Thanks for checking it out.
A narrative game? Made in just a week? That’s amazing! Really impressive work.
Thanks for checking it out!
I love narrative games like this. Great mechanics to solve the case! Well done!
Thank you so much
I finished the first part of this game, and you certainly have done a good job at world-building and making the absurdity known (those are some goofy characters!) I'm not the hugest fan of the large amount of reading, but it isn't that bad, I'll say. The text is entertaining enough that working through the case isn't too bad at all! I'll be real, the cutscenes are what I found to be a bit long. The Paper Mario-esque textboxes are really fun, but the duration of cutscenes and pauses were a bit long. Some of the art is quite good, specifcally the characters. Simple, but effective! It doesn't need to be complicated to be good. However, the pixel art clashes a decent amount with the rounded art. The transitions were slick, though, but it did feel like other systems could've used that time a bit more (this is more of a personal thing, of course!)
Overall, despite the issues, the story was engaging and interesting, which is of course the most important part!
Wow very valuable feedback. Thanks for playing.
Making a narrative game in a week is very impressive, and the writing is really funny
Thanks for the play!
Interesting game! I got an A+ on the case :-) The reading-heavy style isn’t really my thing, but I can see from the other comments that a lot of people really loved it - so clearly there’s an audience for it. I still enjoyed playing, and the art, sound effects, and music were great. I wasn’t too into turning the TV off so often, but I admit it added to the realism. Thanks for sharing your game!
Appreciate you checking it out.
This was really immersive! I got really into the mood! Love the fun bits too witht the puns and the 'all caps' part, haha! Love the TV jingles as well! Overall great mechanics! Solid entry! 💪💪✨
Thank you for checking it out!
Really fun game! So amazing that this was made in 7 days! nice job!
Thanks for trying it
This was awesome! The level of quality is outstanding for a jam game, and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the case itself. A+ first try!
Thanks so much
I really enjoyed this. I poured through all the information about the case carefully, and it paid off, A+ rating, first try!
The game is really atmospheric, I don't know how you got me to be so on edge with such a simple art style. Also loved the humour of why poor old Graham Cracker was arrested.
My only criticism would be that someone could just guess the suspects without reading anything, but I suppose they'd just be robbing themselves of the experience. It would have been cool if you could highlight text for clues / inconsistencies etc and get points based on that maybe?
I will be following you and hope to see more, I want to find out what happens in the next case!
Thanks so much for playing. And yeah, they could just guess but if they do and guess wrong they lose points :p The highlighting thing is a really cool idea. Really like this comment.
Great Writing! Great visuals, especially on the main menu. You did a very good job creating a game like this is a short amount of time with only 2 people.
Thank you for the comment!
All of the transitions and animations are really impressive, and I want to know what happened to the brother! It feels like a demo to a much larger published game.
Such a big compliment. Thank you for playing it!
Outstanding visuals and audio. Enjoyable story! Great stuff.
Thanks for playing!
Nice story line, the art is stunning. Good work
Appreciate it!
Nice one! I got really invested in the plotline.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Didnt expect a game like this on a jam. Superb work. Reminded me of disco elysium somehow.
Thanks for the compliment!
I really loved the story, I like the dark personality but caring of the detective. Took me a couple of tries to do the case but I was able to solve it. Wonderful game!
Thanks so much for playing!
The visuals are pretty neat, I like it!
Thanks! Appreciate it
Love the effort that you put into this one! I solved the case on the first try!
That's awesome! Thanks for playing
